Suriya and Jyotika donate Rs 1 Cr

Tamil actor Suriya’s next film is titled Jai Bhim and it is inspired by several real-life incidents. This courtroom drama discusses about the challenges that are faced by the community of Irula Tribe. The film is heading for a direct digital release through Amazon Prime and Suriya plays the role of a lawyer in this hard-hitting drama. Suriya and his wife Jyotika donated Rs 1 crore for the welfare of the Irula tribe in Tamil Nadu. Suriya and Jyotika handed over the cheque to Rtd Justice Chandru & members of the Pazhangudi Irular Trust through the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin.

The funds would be used for the education of the children from the above community. Tha Se Gnanavel directed Jai Bhim and the film is inspired by a series of incidents that took place in 1993. The film discusses about the injustice done to a section of people in the name of caste discrimination. Suriya’s home banner 2D Entertainment bankrolled Jai Bhim. A special screening of the film was held in Chennai and the reviews for the film are extremely positive.

The film is available on Amazon from today and the response is extremely positive. Ponmagal Vandhal is a gripping court drama and as expected the court episodes, climax scenes are the major highlights. Jyotika tops the show with her flawless performance. Though Ponmagal Vandhal sounds like a thriller, it discusses a relevant issue and delivers a message for the Indian audience.

All those who watches the film will keep appreciating the performance of Jyotika. Ponmagal Vandhal discusses the sensational issue of child safety that is narrated in an appropriate manner that will appeal to all the sections. Though the film is slow-paced at times, it turns quite gripping in the second half and the hard-hitting message makes the film end up on an impressive note. Southern superstar Suriya has shared a happy selfie with his actress-wife Jyothika.

Suriya on Wednesday took to Instagram to share an adorable photograph of himself with Jyothika.

The actor just wrote alongside the image: “@jyothikah”

The photograph currently has over 4500 likes on the photo-sharing website.

On the acting front, Suriya will be seen in “Aakaasam Nee HaddhuRa” directed by Sudha Kongara. The film will release on April 8.

On the Bollywood front, he will be seen sharing screen space with R. Madhavan in the upcoming film “Rocketry – The Nambi Effect”.

The film is based on the life of scientist and aerospace engineer S. Nambi Narayanan. It marks the directorial debut of Madhavan, who also essays the role of the protagonist in the film.

First Look: Karthi and Jyothika’s Donga

Talented director Jeethu Joseph created a sensation across the country with a thriller Dhrishyam. The film which released in Malayalam went on to be remade in all the Indian languages. His next directorial is directed Thambi (Tamil) and it features Karthi, Jyothika, Satyaraj in the lead roles. The Telugu version is titled Donga. Karthi’s brother Suriya unveiled the first look poster of the film today.

The entire shoot of the film got wrapped up recently and the makers are in plans to release Donga in December. Nikhila Vimal plays other crucial role and Viacom 18 Motion Pictures along with Parallel Minds Production bankrolled this action thriller. Karthi is currently riding high on the success of Khaidi which was a smashing hit in Telugu and Tamil.

Viacom 18 Studios along with A Parallel Minds Production will jointly produce this film. The makers announced that this film will release in October this year. 96 fame Govind Vasantha is composing the music and RD Rajasekhar is handling the cinematography work.
