Telangana Today mouthpiece of KTR not even TRS

One year after its launch Telangana today which according to Wikipedia aims to “mainly focus on politics and developments of Telangana state”, has been focusing only on K T Rama Rao. Evident from today’s edition, wherein every page had some news about him.

The editor ahead of the launch held the thought that despite the tag, the newspaper will remain unbiased and hopes to redefine local content. Leave alone redefining, the prediction about the daily, that it cannot write against the ruling party has certainly come true.

However, the daily has been diligently elevating KTR even though there are 3 other members from the same family in the party. If given a chance, they daily might intrude in his personal life and write stories because even if he speaks in Hindi, cracks a joke, rides a bike everything has to be reported. Since KCR has been confined to his office-cum-home, the newspaper stands out akin to “bhajana” paper of KTR, not even TRS.

Instead of helping get KCR further hold on the media, it is not even getting hold of TRS. Even the sister publication of the Telugu daily ‘Namaste Telangana’ reports some local issues in its city edition, but if one reads Telangana Today, it makes the youngest state sound like a dream land with no issues.

KTR lauds Rahul Gandhi as ‘Baccha!’ and Congress as Loafer Party!

0

Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao, or simply KTR is quite witty, and sarcastic when it comments on political war. The TRS leader once again showed his brilliance in the word of wars against TPCC Chief Uttam Kumar Reddy. In an interview to a daily tabloid, KTR passed some strong comments on Uttam Kumar Reddy, Rahul Gandhi and Indian National Congress.

Talking about the challenge thrown at Uttam Kumar Reddy, KTR went on to say, ‘I am sufficient to challenge Uttam Kumar Reddy. There is no need for our Honourable CM KCR. When I asked him whether he would leave politics for once and all, instead of answering point-to-point, the TPCC Chief is beating around the bush. If he drags KCR into this issue, we might well demand about Sonia Gandhi walking away from politics.’

Further reacting to the ‘Baccha’ comment by Uttam Kumar Reddy on him, KTR said, ‘Rahul Gandhi is the real Baccha. I atleast got married.

Rahul is yet to get married. Uttam Kumar Reddy doesn’t have the calibre to compare himself to the likes of KCR. One clear knows what would pop up if you google Pappu. Congress is nothing but a loafer party’.

Telangana Congress chief accepts minister’s challenge

0

Accepting the challenge of Telanagana IT Minister K.T. Rama Rao, state Congress chief N. Uttam Kumar Reddy on Thursday announced that he and his wife and sitting legislator Padmavathi Reddy would retire from politics if the Congress did not come to power in next elections.

However, he said Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao must also announce that he, along with his son Rama Rao (Minister), daughter K. Kavitha (MP) and nephew T. Harish Rao (Minister) will retire from politics if Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) loses the elections.

Reddy told reporters that he is unconditionally accepting the challenge posed by Rama Rao. However, he said that the Chief Minister himself should make the announcement of retirement from politics of his entire family if Congress comes to power in Telangana.

He said Rama Rao’s challenge only reflected his arrogance and the power of arrogance has turned TRS leaders blind to the extent that they were not willing to see the sufferings of common people.

No section of the society benefitted from the TRS regime during the last four years, and except for four members of just one family, no one gained from the formation of Telangana State, said Reddy.

He was confident the Congress would win more than 70 seats in next elections, irrespective of whether they are held in December or next year.

Bunny’s Swag, Mahesh’s screen presence and PK’s enigma : KTR

0

Dynamic Telangana politician and Minister KTR is one of the most active users of social media blogger Twitter. He often interacts with his followers and uses it effectively to address various issues in the state. As a part of his two hour online #ASKKTR session yesterday, the IT minister gave witty answers and also delighted Tollywood fans with his terse replies to ‘ one-word-about’ type questions to star hero fans.

KTR said he likes Allu Arjun’s Swag, Style and Energy when an inquisitive follower asked him to say a few words about the actor. To one Mahesh Babu fan, who asked to describe the actor in one word, he said Superstar like Screen Presence.

And, the most retweeted and liked Tweet in the interaction goes to his reply on one word description about Pawan Kalyan. Enigma is what he described Powerstar. Also, when a follower asked about his opinion on Pawan’s politics, KTR safely played it saying : People shall decide who am I.

For Prabhas, he described him as a Baahubali in one word. Also, he said there are many movies which he liked in 2017.

KTR was at his humourous best when he described ‘one-word-about’ Narendra Modi as Prime Minister. He concluded the two hour Twitter interaction terming it as a great experience.

Rahul Gandhi urged to take action against Telangana Congress leader

0

Senior TRS leader and Telangana minister K. T. Rama Rao has demanded Congress President Rahul Gandhi to take action against party’s state leader Revanth Reddy for his remarks against Health Minister Lakshma Reddy.

Rama Rao on Monday tweeted that Rahul Gandhi and state Congress chief Uttam Kumar Reddy should respond to the “cheap” utterances by Revanth Reddy.

“It is for Rahul Gandhi Ji or Uttam Kumar Reddy Garu to respond to this cheap, crass & downright ridiculous utterances towards a respectable cabinet minister in Telangana,” said Rama Rao, son of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.

“They were swift with Mani Shankar Aiyar’s behaviour but let’s see if it was selective to Gujarat elections,” the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leader, added referring to the senior Congress leader’s suspension from the party for his utterances against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Revanth Reddy, who recently quit Telugu Desam Party (TDP) to join Congress, used “inappropriate” words while criticizing the Health Minister, who is also a physician, allegedly describing him “Munna Bhai MBBS”.

Lakshma Reddy reacted sharply to say that “Munna Bhai” at least worked for a good cause in the movie while Revanth Reddy is like notorious thief Charles Sobhraj.

TRS leaders in Mahabubnagar district on Sunday lodged a police complaint against Revanth Reddy.

India’s largest makerspace to come up in Hyderabad

0

India’s largest makerspace, a prototyping and design centre, will come up here next year and will have equipment worth over $20 million, Telangana’s Industry Minister K.T. Rama Rao announced here on Tuesday.

To be known as T-Works, the facility will come up over 250,00 square feet with many partners offering their software tools and equipment.

Modelled on the lines of makerspaces in other countries and customised to Indian needs, this will probably be the world’s second largest facility of its kind, he said.

Anybody with an idea can collaborate with other people at T-Works and convert his or her designs into working prototype.

“T-Works will be up and running around this time next year,” the Minister said, while addressing India Design Summit organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry, adding anybody could use freely available tools — software, test and measurement equipment — to build any product.

“T-Works will allow anyone young or old school student, graduate or retired professor, man or woman to collaborate with other intelligent individuals and converge their designs on paper or PC and convert it into working prototype,” said Rama Rao, son of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.

Open to all Indians, the facility will have CNC machines, cutting machines of all kinds, welding and carpentry tools, PCB assembly machines, and 3D printers of all ranges.

“This I believe is going to change the way we do business especially with respect to design and hardware space in India,” he said.

The Minister said T-Works will help in making products in domains like mechanical, electro mechanic, electronics and semiconductor spaces.

It will also help in making products in automobiles, IoT, avionics, drones, med devices, medical instruments, defence equipment, consumer electronics, telecom products, mobile devices, gadgets and sensors.

“T-Works will become one of cornerstones and essential hub in the wheel in heralding a new wave of entrepreneurs, makers, tinkerers and designers of all kinds, aesthetic, textile, fashion, lifestyle, mechanical and technological,” he added.

Opinion – Big statements on women empowerment, but no woman in cabinet

0

Ivanka’s trip to Inida is over and she left Hyderabad today. She spoke about women empowerment and throughout the summit, there was focus on women-led businesses and women entrepreneurs. KTR, who hosted the sessions and facilitated discussions on woman empowerment impressed Ivanka with his spontaneity as well as knowledge. But he drew flak in one particular situation during the summit.

KCR’s cabinet has been criticized in the past as well, as he has not appointed a single woman in the last three and a half years, for a ministerial post. So when the same topic – “women in legislatures” was discussed during the GES summit, KTR could not hide his embarrassment. Later, congress leader DK Aruna fired salvos on the government as she spoke – “52% participants in the summit are women. But, there is no woman in CM KCR’s cabinet. What will the Chief Minister speak about women empowerment during the global meet when there is no women representation in the state Cabinet. It is ridiculous that KCR spoke about women empowerment, when the TRS failed to appoint a single woman Minister.” She also alleged that the government had done injustice to women in Self-Help Groups (SHGs).

But minister KTR later spoke about lack of women cabinet ministers in the government and said that “There are only 6 women legislatures. There are not enough women legislators and also due to some political reasons so that there are no women cabinet ministers and he hoped that CM would include some of them in next reshuffle.” He has added that “TRS supports women reservations in state Assembly and Parliament and we have urged the central government to bring the women reservation bill.”

Though KTR later remarked that their party supports woman reservation bill and he “hoped” KCR to add some woman in cabinet, as the saying goes, actions speak much louder than words. So not having woman minister in the cabinet was unexpectedly highlighted bringing embarrassment to the government that was burning the candles at both ends to make the summit on women entrepreneurship a grand success.

Telangana to launch electric vehicle policy next month

0

The Telangana government will next month launch its policy for electric vehicles to provide incentives to manufacturers and private players setting up charging stations, a senior government official said on Thursday.

Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary, Industry, Commerce and Information Technology, said the policy will offer incentives for setting up charging stations and enable creation of infrastructure like allotment of lands.

The policy will also provide necessary regulatory framework for the sector. The government will amend certain laws so that the power can be drawn from power stations for charging facilities, he told reporters on the sidelines of an event where Mahindra Electric and Zoomcar announced launch of shared mobility in Hyderabad.

Zoomcar has deployed 20 Mahindra e20Plus on its platform for hire.

Ranjan said the EV policy was almost ready and they were waiting for feedback from the Transport and Municipal Administration Departments on the proposals. “Once we get their feedback, the policy draft will be sent to Chief Secretary and later to the Chief Minister for approval,” he said.

He said they already consulted industry and experts on the EV policy. The state government also hopes to attract EV manufacturers.

The EV market is currently small but once it starts growing, Mahindra will ramp up the production at its facility in Zaheerabad in Telangana, he said.

Ranjan said he feels that electric vehicles could also play a key role in ensuring last mile connectivity for commuters of Hyderabad Metro, which is set to be launched next week.

Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) has already tied-up with Uber and Ola to ensure last mile connectivity to and from metro stations. The commuters will have multiple options including electric cycles and pedal cycles from the stations to reach their destinations.

KTR shocking statement: No information on Metro by Modi

0

KTR says No information on Metro by Modi

The inauguration of the Hyderabad Metro Rail Project on 28th of this month by prime minister Modi has been in news for coupe of days. But KTR almost shocked everyone when he revealed that there is no “official” information from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s office to the Telangana state officially yet.

Actually Modi is visiting Hyderabad for Global Entrepreneur Summit in which Ivanka is the chief guest. So, PMO planned Metro inauguration also during the visit. But very surprisingly PMO office didn’t inform this to state government officially. But still Telangana government is preparing for Metro inauguration by Modi as they have information through “other channel”. Actually TS government got the info from Special Protection Group (SPG) ,the armed force of the Union for providing proximate security to the Prime Minister of India.

This incident shows how callous our bureaucracy is and how, even PMO is also not an exemption for this.

Line clear for Annapurna studio link road. Nagarjuna to lose some land??

0

Nagarjuna to lose Annapurna studio 20 feet land

“This is Hyderabad. Traffic here is very bad”, says a Trivikram’s character in a movie. Especially traffic in the road that covers Banjara hills, Indira nagar, Krishna nagar, yousuf guda towards Hitec city is almost like bumper-to-bumper on weekdays. But at last, Telangana government has taken some measures to address this issue. It is planning to clear the line for proposed link road near Annapurna studio.

This proposal was actually started during the congress government itself but later it was put to cold storage. But after 2014 elections, TRS revived this project again and started widening the road in banjara hills. KTR has given special consideration for this issue and TRS MLA sought help of Nagarjuna and Nagarjuna agreed to give some land of Annapurna studios. So government planned widening the road from 40 feet to 60 feet.

The extra 20 feet land will be of Annapurna studios and Nag agreed to give it to the government. But now again the team of engineers suggested to increase it to 80 feet. So again government is planning to ask Nagarjuna for additional 20 feet road from Annapurna studios. Though the team of engineers and local MLA are skeptical about getting this additional 20 feet road from private property of Annapurna studios, it is learnt that KTR told them he will personally speak to Nagarjuna on this issue and get it resolved,

We have to wait and see how Nag is going to respond on this.
