BJP flays use of public money on Andhra CM’s private visit

0

With Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy leaving for Israel on Thursday night, a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader has criticised him for burdening the public exchequer for a private visit.

Lanka Dinakar flayed the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government for releasing Rs 22.52 lakh for the chief minister’s security during the four-day visit. “Why the public money is being used for a private visit by the chief minister and his family,” Dinakar said.

The state government on Wednesday sanctioned Rs 22,52,500 towards security arrangements for the chief minister’s visit. The general administration department issued the order for releasing the amount to Triple S. Tours and Travels, Israel, to make the security arrangements.

Earlier, an order issued on July 26 mentioned that the visit was purely personal and the expenditure would be borne by Jagan Reddy. The order was about the permission accorded to Jagan Reddy by the Ministry of External Affairs.

Under another order issued the same day, the government granted permission to Sivaraj Senthil Kumar, Superintendent of Police, to visit Jerusalem in advance from July 29.

A. Joshi, Chief Security Officer to the Chief Minister, was also permitted to visit Israel along with Jagan Reddy to oversee the security arrangements and provide round the clock security.

This is Jagan Reddy’s first foreign visit after becoming the Chief Minister in May.

Jagan Reddy, a Protestant, and his family would visit the holy sites associated with Christianity in Jerusalem. It is seen as a thanksgiving visit for the YSRCP’s massive victory in the elections.

Earlier this week, a special CBI court granted permission to Jagan Reddy to visit Jerusalem and the USA between August 1 and August 25.

The court also allowed Rajya Sabha member and YSRCP general secretary V. Vijaysai Reddy to go abroad.

Both Jagan Reddy and Vijaysai Reddy are on bail in the quid pro quo cases registered against them by the CBI in 2011. The bail conditions required them to take prior permission of the court to travel abroad.

TDP will win above 120 seats, says Lanka Dinakar

0

The TDP has set Mission 150+ assembly seats against the 88 simple majority. Till yesterday, the TDP leaders asserted their party will win 140 initially and then came down to 130. Now they have further come down. They are asserting that their party will win over 120 assembly seats and will form the government without outside support. The TDP is all set to win above 20 Lok Sabha seats to play a crucial role at the national level. The TDP got total support from the people who rejected the corruption and murder politics of Jaganmohan Reddy.

Obviously, TDP is rationalising its numbers in the face of rising doubts over rivals manipulation. National Spokesman Lanka Dinakar on Friday accused the Election Commission of its failures to ensure smooth conduct of the election in Andhra Pradesh which saw inordinate delays due to non-functioning and malfunctioning electronic voting machines.

Mr Dinakar asked why the Election Commission was afraid to give the IP addresses of those who applied for the form 7 deletion requests for lakhs of voters in AP. This showed that the EC is biased in favour of the YCP but the voters have given their verdict in favour of commitment, development and welfare.

PM Modi trying to impoverish AP?

0

TDP is hitting back hard at PM Modi’s election speech. TDP National Spokesman Lanka Dinakar accused PM Modi of hatching a conspiracy along with Jaganmohan Reddy and Chandrasekhar Rao to make Andhra Pradesh a sunset state in terms of development, welfare and job opportunities. Modi’s election speeches revealed his intentions to ignore the bifurcation promises and leave AP a totally crushed and impoverished state.

Mr. Dinakar said that Modi is obviously jealous and afraid of the manner in which CM Chandrababu Naidu is developing AP as a sunrise state attractive for investors and entrepreneurs from around the world. Hitting back at Modi’s’sonset’ comment, he said that CM Naidu is like bright sun and his son Lokesh is like a second sun as both of them together are working hard and making AP a promising land of the never-setting sun.

TDP reminded Modi how his own government at the Centre and various Union Ministries have given numerous awards to AP in panchayat raj and rural development wings for the good work done by Minister Lokesh. Modi betrayed and insulted AP people yet again by not at all talking about the promises he made to the AP people at the time of 2014 election on special status, Delhi-like Capital city, Bundelkhand-like package to AP backward regions, etc.
