MAA crisis: Naresh’s men knocked Court doors

0

The present mood of elected Movie Artists Association is that they want to oust incumbent President Naresh VK from the post and want to take decisions unilaterally as he is not available for them at the office. No matter what each member is saying, this seems to be the real intention.

Currently, the crisis at MAA is further escalating with few people close to Naresh approaching Court to impose stay on the decisions taken by Rajasekhar and Jeevitha, in the absence of Naresh. On September 10th, Executive vice-president Rajasekhar and general secretary Jeevitha held the Executive Body meeting of MAA without Naresh’s presence. There they have decided to issue powers to Vice President Hema to run the day to day affairs of the association.

Pointing out that conducting meetings, passing proceedings and minutes of the meeting is against the by-laws of Movie Artists Association, few members knocked the doors of Court, after which a status quo is granted on those new decisions. But what is Naresh’s take on these whole happenings as he is not directly opening up on anything?

Some insiders revealed that Naresh is upset with the way Jeevitha wants to run the association and is expressing inability as she’s more vocal than him. We have to see who is going to sort the things out at MAA.

MAA’s quick action on Mahesh issue appreciated, BUT..

0

Manoj Prabhakar- not many know this name until yesterday. But this upcoming comedian from Tamilnadu suddenly became very popular. He became target for Mahesh Babu fans after he tried to crack some crude jokes on Mahesh Babu. Finally Movie artist Association (MAA) wrote a letter to Nadigar Sangam on this.

Manoj Prabhakar made several rude comments like, Mahesh Babu face doesn’t have any expressions, in Spyder movie, SJ Surya was giving many expressions while Mahesh Babu’s face was blank. He also made some sarcastic comments like, Mahesh Babu is a rock star and that means, his face is like a rock, that doesn’t have any expressions.  He also made some senseless comments like Mahesh Babu is male version of Katrina Kaif.

Manoj Prabhakar comments did not go well with not only Mahesh Babu fans but also general Telugu audience. Many trolled the upcoming comedian through social platforms and some of them asked him to compare the acting of Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu’s performance with Tamil superstar Vijay performance in the movie Pokiri and have some fact check. After facing severe criticism from Telugu audience, Manoj Prabhakar apologized on Facebook for his act. He requested the trollers to stop the abuse and stop this issue here.

Meanwhile, Movie Artist Association (MAA) sent a letter to Nadigar Sangam on this and requested to take action on Manoj Prabhakar. It should be appreciated that MAA has, at least now, taken some sort of action to condemn vicious comments on Mahesh Babu, one of the members of movie artist Association. MAA responding on this immediately is appreciated by Telugu people.

However some people question, why MAA could not give similar ‘quick’ response when “some people” targeted Pawan Kalyan , who is also member of movie artist Association. When some media channels and some people targeted Pawan Kalyan and went on to make personal comments targeting him and his family members, MAA was silent for many days. It need not condemn political comments but at least when they are making personal comments, MAA could have lent it’s support to PK and gave some sort of official statement, but it didn’t do. Only after things went out of control, MAA tried to respond on that.

Hopefully, at least now onward, MAA will continue to take some active decisions when such things happen instead of keeping mum like in the past.

MAA seeks stringent action on Tamil comedian

0

Two days after a Tamil comedian named Manoj Prabhakar made derogatory comments on Tollywood superstar Mahesh Babu and his acting skills during his interaction in an event, Movie Artists Association (MAA), the apex body of Telugu film industry, has strictly condemned and sought the intervention of Nadigar Sangam to take stringent action on him.

As the video in which Manoj was seen making mockery of Mahesh Babu’s performance in Spyder went viral in social media, there has been huge backlash among Telugu audience and Mahesh Babu fans in particular who demanded a public apology for the offensive remarks.

MAA has written to Nadigar Sangam stating that the comments made by Manoj are utterly shocking and ridiculous. It asserted that the comments are likely to have strain on the friendly relationship between the Telugu and Tamil film industry. MAA requested to enquire and take strict action against Manoj for those comments.

MAA lifts ban on Sri Reddy

7

MAA- Movie Artists Association ,apex body of Telugu film industry has withdrawn its ban on controversial actress Sri Reddy who sparked a storm with blatant allegations and accused several Tollywood celebs in connection with casting couch.

The decision from MAA to lift ban on Sri Reddy ensued after the National Human Rights commission intervened to redress her grievance.

NHRC took the case of Sri Reddy as Suo moto and served notices to state government of Telangana and Information & Broadcasting Ministry and also directed to set up a committee to address sexual harassments in film industry.

MAA vs Women activists & channels vs netizens on Sri Reddy issue

10

Actress Sri Reddy’s strip protest still creating tremors in Tollywood. it is known news that after Sri Reddy’s protest MAA has condemned her act and confirmed the rejection of her application for MAA membership. Women activists and TV channels condemned the decision taken by MAA.

Actually many people feel that MAA has over reacted to the incident. Though they have every right to either accept or reject the application for membership (depending on their rule book), they cannot say- whoever acts with Sri Reddy also will be boycotted by MAA. So women activists and channels condemned the decision of MAA and made scathing comments on MAA and they questioned the over reaction of MAA. They remarked why did not MAA condemn when an MLA made vulgar comments on women working in film industry.

While questions by women activist and channels are fair and valid, people also questioning these women activists and channels on social media. They are questioning why these women activists did not utter a single word when journalist in a TV channel made vulgar comments on film industry in a live show. In social media netizens are also questioning TV channels. While they are appreciating this kind of condemning programs when Chalapathi Rao are MAA make such mistakes but they are also questioning where were these channels when top star like Balakrishna or Senior journalist in a live show made such comments. Netizens argument also seems to be valid.
