The makers of Mahesh Babu’s upcoming film Maharshi have kick started the promotions in style. After releasing the first single last week, they are going to unveil a teaser on Telugu New Year this Saturday.

The Ugadhi treat has been announced with the release of stylish poster in which Mahesh Babu is seen sporting a suave look dressed in blue check suit. A swanky chopper is also spotted in the poster. Mahesh Babu is playing a business tycoon in this film which is said to be a story of three close friends. Allari Naresh and Pooja Hegde are playing prominent roles as Mahesh’s friends.

Directed by Vamshi Paidipalli, the film is on the verge of completing the shooting formalities. Dil Raju, Ashwini Dutt and PVP are jointly bankrolling the film. Devi Sri Prasad is composing the tunes. Maharshi is slated for release on May 9th.

As Mahesh carries stupendous track record in overseas, his films usually create a lot of buzz in trade circles before the release. However, the buzz for Maharshi in overseas trade is quite underwhelming. Though the film’s release is just five weeks away, there are no takers for overseas rights of Maharshi. Producers initially quoted 18 Crores for theatricals in USA. As no distributor came forward to buy the rights at such high price, producers waited for a decent offer to close the deal. With the release date fast approaching, they are now looking to give away the rights at-least for 12 Crores. Still no distributor is willing to bag the rights as there is no great buzz on the film and due to heavy competition at the US box office during its release.

Both Dil Raju and Ashwini Dutt are in a dilemma and are pushing each other to close the deal at the earliest. If no distributor comes forward, the producers might release the film on their own in overseas.
