We have seen Mohan Babu and his son Manchu Vishnu sharing screen for several films but for the first time, Vishnu directed Mohan Babu and it is not for a feature film but for a commercial. The commercial has been shot as a part of Ministry’s publicity campaign. Vishnu directed the commercial recently which has been shot in Ramoji Film City.

The commercial lasts for a minute and it explains the importance of water and river conservation. Mohan Babu and Vishnu have been extremely happy for being considered for the initiative. This commercial will be released next week. Manchu Vishnu has couple of interesting films in hand and he is waiting for the release of Achari America Yatra and Voter.

Gayatri flopped because of Piracy, laments Mohan Babu

0

Mohan Babu’s latest offering Gayatri is termed as one of the biggest disasters in recent times. Despite getting decent reviews and talk, the film quickly fizzled out at box office without any trace. While the reasons why audience have not shown interest in turning up for Manchu family’s films are obvious, Mohan Babu, who has also produced the film besides playing the lead role, has blamed piracy for the film’s box office failure.

Speaking recently to press in Hyderabad, Mohan Babu lamented that piracy menace is continuing to afflict Tollywood as it is eating away the revenues. Mohan Babu said he took a lot of strain and toiled hard for this film. He deplored that all hard work went down the drain due to piracy.

He said the pirated version of Gayatri was available in internet right from the first day. Those who resort to this menace will definitely pay to their sins, cursed Mohan Babu.

Well, Mohan Babu’s emotional outburst can be understood given that fact that the film failed to recover even the expenses despite getting decent feedback. But, attributing the entire cause for the film’s poor run to piracy alone is quite silly because other films which too got pirated and also rated very low collected better revenues than Gayatri

It is time Manchu family reinvent themselves and find a way to attract audience instead of passing the buck on piracy alone.

Time for Manchu family to reinvent themselves ?

Like Mega, Nandamuri and Akkineni families, Manchu family led by Mohan Babu has also established some popularity for themselves among Telugu audience. Carrying the legacy of Mohan Babu are his sons Manchu Vishnu and Manoj. In the initial days, both Vishnu and Manoj showed some promise and looked like they are going to assume the mantle of their father. But, they couldn’t make a visible mark in Tollywood. Audience have thoroughly rejected their lacklustre films.

What is more striking is that their films are ending without a trace at the box office despite getting decent talk and reviews. The poor show of Mohan Babu’s Gayatri, which also has Manchu Vishnu in a crucial role, lends credence to the fact that audience is turning a cold shoulder to Manchu family’s films.

Gayatri, which opened in cinemas last Friday, managed to get lukewarm reviews from all corners. The film generated good buzz after the impressive trailers featuring Mohan Babu in an intense role was unveiled. The team has aggressively promoted the film. Despite all these positives going its way, Gayatri is now heading towards becoming one of the biggest disasters in recent times. Embarrassingly, Sai Dharam Tej’s Inttelligent, which has been rated very low by audience and critics, is faring better than Gayatri.

Looking at the disappointing run of Gayatri, it is clearly evident that audience is not interested to watch Manchu family’s films irrespective of the content with which they are made. One of main reasons why Manchu family is failing to attract audience is they have delivered back to back low quality films. Their poor track record is turning out to be a big liability for every new film and hurting its box office performance.

Vishnu is trying his best to impress audience with different films but couldn’t taste success. Manoj’s career has completely fizzled out with successive flops.

It is time for Manchu heroes to reassess their careers and find a way to impress audience. They have to come up with sensible content that appeals to all sections of audience. They have to select fresh scripts which have scope for entertainment and they should stay away from unnecessary controversies to restore some faith among audience. It is time they reinvent themselves. Otherwise, the future of Manchu family looks very bleak.

Gayatri story line is Okay but suffered from poor direction. Narration that suits current days would have made a lot difference to this film.

Gayatri is a take on contemporary politics

0

Gayatri is on contemporaries politics

Mohan Babu’s Gayatri, which is set for release very soon, caught the attention of movie buffs after the intense trailer was unveiled recently. The film will see him playing dual avatars, one as a good guy and the other as a bad guy.

As Gayatri Patel, Mohan Babu is said to be at his menacing best with inimitable dialogues. It is heard that Gayatri is a critical take on contemporary politics.

As per our sources, there are some sharp and trenchant dialogues with political flavour aimed at mocking some of the present cabinet ministers of Telugu states for their ludicrous comments during press interactions and public appearances.

Some of dialogues in the film mouthed by Mohan Babu are

‘ Right left teliyadu atanu ravana sakha mantri’ ,

‘Sarvabhoumadikaram palakatam raadu cabinet Minister’

‘ Raastra pakshi teliyadu inko cabinet Minister ki’

These dialogues, which are said be inspired with real comments made by our ministers, are said to be so withering and are likely to invite debate after the film’s release.

Censor has been complete, it remains to be seen if they were muted or left unedited after the censor scrutiny.

Some Producers are Puppets under Heroes!- Says Mohan Babu

0

Dialogue King Mohan Babu is well known not just for his witty dialogues on screen but also for his sharp tongue on controversies and speaking truth off the screen. In many occasions like Vajrotsavam, he was the first person to raise voice against the atrocities and also question the power of Tollywood’s management. During an interview for a popular Telugu daily as part of promotions for his new film Gayatri, he has given some shocking statements on today’s producers!

The actor expressed disgust on certain producers who rave about their film even before it really gets started and also praise their respective heroes without any backing or reasoning. He also said that many producers are bringing on illegal money instead of spending from their own pockets for the films. He said that it is indeed sad to see even some directors becoming the same way.

When asked about the film, Mohan Babu said that despite being a remake, the Gayatri team made 80% of changes to the storyline and Manchu Vishnu will be seen playing Mohan Babu’s mannerisms as well. A story which involves confrontation between father and daughter is rare and he found it to be quite fetching in Gayatri. The dynamic actor specified that for an aspiring person who wants to be in acting, there is never a satisfaction as long as roles are concerned!

Gayatri trailer : Mohan Babu’s one man show

Gayatri trailer

Veteran actor Mohan Babu is portraying a high-octane villain in his upcoming film Gayatri.

The theatrical trailer of the film, which has a run time of 2 min 25 seconds, showcases Mohan Babu in two different roles. As Gayatri Patel, he looks fiery and brings in a lot of gravity with his intense mannerisms and trademark one liners. In the other role, he appears meek but carries some intensity with it too.

Manchu Vishnu and Shriya Saran seem to have got some intriguing roles that have strong nexus with the film’s plot. But, it is Mohan Babu who is seen completely dominating the trailer and gets elevated by the pulse-pounding score rendered by SS Thaman. This interesting trailer is sure to raise the expectations on the film.

Directed by Madan, the film is slated for release in February.

The fight sequence is being shot for the last eight days and will continue for another three days. The shooting was halted for four days because of the birth of Mohan Babu’s son Vishnu Manchu’s baby.

Vishnu Manchu also features in “Gayatri” as a romantic character opposite Shriya Saran. The film will release on February 9.

Vishnu turns young Mohan Babu’s Gayatri

Manchu family has a list of actors and they are known for their collective efforts. One supports the other actor either with a cameo or making their presence in a song. Just one film can change the career of an actor/technician. And, it has been proved perfectly in the case of Rana Daggubati, whose career can be divided into pre-Baahubali and post-Baahubali.
