Natural Star Nani is on cloud nine after he scored his eighth blockbuster in a row with Middle Class Abbayi which released during the Christmas weekend. The actor has been impressed with a script narrated by a debutant Prashant Varma and decided to produce it on his own. With number of prominent actors playing lead roles in the movie, Nani too decided to contribute his part for the movie. The actor’s first look has been unveiled and he will be playing a humanitarian fish in the film.

Nani is said to have lent his voice for the role and the makers unveiled the first poster of his role from the movie titled Awe. Nithya Menen, Srinivas Avasarala, Regina Cassandra, Priyadarshi, Eesha Rebba, Murali Sharma and Kajal Aggarwal are the lead actors in the movie which is currently in final stages of shoot. Nani’s Wall Poster Cinema is producing this movie which has been slated for February 2018 release.

Story:

Nani & Rajeev Kanakala are brothers who lead happy bachelors’ life. Bhumika enters into their life as Rajeev’s wife , Nani gets uncomfortable for being sidelined. The obvious importance and authority that Vadhina Bhumika gets at the home drives Nani to develop slight conflict with her. Adding to the woes, Bhumika gets transferred to Warangal as RTO and Rajeev gets posted to Delhi on training. On Rajeev’s request, Nani accompanies Bhumika to Warangal. Pallavi is an undergraduate student in Warangal falls in love with Nani – a love at first sight. Shiva (Vijay) is a ruthless transport mafia operates illegal bus fleet, confronts with Bhumika – a RTO officer.

Story runs in three threads. First one deals with funny situations generated on Nani’s struggle with household chores, second one with Pallavi’s love on Nani and last crucial one how Bhumika – Nani deal with death threat from transport mafia.

Artists Performances:

Nani does justice to the role and brings believability to the ‘Middle Class Abbayi’ character. You feel connected to a number of scenes if you have grown up in a middle-class family – doing household chores sans a maid etc. Sai Pallavi is just OK, doesn’t show the spark everyone is expecting from her post Fida. The star of MCA is Bhumika. She excels as Nani’s vadina and she is elegance personified. This is going to be a harbinger of more such roles for her in Tollywood. New villain Vijay looks ruthless, but nativity is missing in his features. Rajeev Kanakala, Priyadarshi pulikonda have limited roles and they did ok. Naresh, Subhaleka Sudhakar, Pavitra Lokesh got insignificant roles.

Analysis:

Movie takes off entertainingly showcasing a jobless lazy middle-class youngster’s struggle in performing household chores. A good situational comedy has been generated out of the contexts like helping his vadhina in cutting vegetables, grabbing milk from the booth and groceries from the market. However, after an hour into the movie, we’ll realise neither conflict point nor any new screenplay exist. Poor villainy marred the little scope they have to generate some fear factor. But till interval Nani is able to manage the show single handedly with his superb comedy performance yet again. When Bhumika’s sacrifice to help Nani’s career is revealed, followed by Nani’s confrontation with villains – that interval block is the best moment of the film.

With not so impressive threat to Bhumika-Nani, post interval the film’s graph goes down with routine stuff. Second half is all about cat and mouse game between Hero and antagonist without any exciting factor. However, this drama may appeal to family audience to some extent but for others. Overall, second half could have been much better leaving many to a little disappointment

While “kotthaga Kotthaga rekkalochinattu ga “, “yevandoi Nani garu “songs are fine on screen, all other songs are not upto the mark. Not only with songs, but background score as well Devi Sri prasad disappoints the audience

Production Values:

This movie was touted as “Double Hat Trick” for Dil Raju (Not sure how, he himself accepted he compensated for DJ losses, but that is a discussion for another day), one would assume he would take extra care to mould this movie well, considering the market value of Nani and new-found craze of Sai Pallavi. Despite having close to 30 crore pre-release business, minimum production values are missing which is glaringly evident in songs and other technical aspects.

Positives:

-Clean comedy & dialogues in 1st half
-Nani’s performance as Nani
-Bhumika’s characterization, very good decision to pick her this role
– Vadhina, Maridhi theme came out as different backdrop.
– Sai Pallavi is just OK.

Negatives:

– Songs
– Run of mill second half
– Poor background score (one wonders if DSP really did background for this movie)
– Low production values by Dil Raju’s SVC Creations

Verdict:

MCA first half is decent and second half is not upto the mark. If family audience lap up the second half, it may end up as an average film. In USA, this film has opened on par with topstars’ films, even in India advance bookings are reportedly high. Thanks to Nani, Brand Dil Raju and Sai Pallavi combination – but sustaining these openings is doubtful

MCA held strong on it’s second in Telugu states as it has collected a distributor share of 3.24 Cr. 2 days total is now at 10.81 Cr. The second day collections of ‘MCA’ are more than Day one of another new release ‘Hello’ which was also sold for higher rates. Worth share of the film excluding hires on Day One is 6.97 Cr which means a drop of just over 50 percent.

MCA hits half a million in overseas

Keeping with the tag of dependable actor in overseas market, Natural star Nani has once again proved his box office potential with solid openings for his latest offering MCA, which released this Thursday. Directed by Venu Sriram, the film has Sai Pallavi as the female lead.

Despite the mixed talk and average web reviews, MCA is having a strong run in its first weekend. Though it is a weekday release, the family entertainer took a surprisingly solid start with $ 303K from its Wednesday premiers. On Thursday, the film notched up a decent $ 117K and took the total to $420K. According to the fresh trade reports, MCA has zoomed past half a million mark by Friday evening in overseas.

Nani’s last two films touched the prestigious million dollar mark with ease and MCA opened on a better note than those two films. So, it remains to be if Nani can complete a hat-trick of Million Dollar films with MCA.

MCA has taken a Bumper opening with a distributor share of over 7.50 Cr. This is biggest ever for Nani by a huge 60% margin over Ninnu Kori which had Collected 4.72 Cr just a few months back . It is also ninth biggest opening of this year behind Paisa Vasool (7.86 Cr). But if we take out of the hires and look at the real opening MCA takes edge over Paisa vasool easily which is a big achievement.

This week it will be Natural star Nani and Akkineni Akhil who are going to vie at the box office when their upcoming films MCA and Hello hit the screens on successive days ( 21st and 22nd). Nani is coming from back to back box office hits and Akhil will face a litmus test as Hello is billed as his relaunch after the debut outing misfired badly.

While Akhil is promoting the film aggressively, Nani is purely banking on his success track for good openings. In terms of market and pre release buzz, Hello has a slight edge over MCA. Surprisingly, it is Nani who is ahead of Akhil in terms of advance bookings. MCA is generating good bookings than Hello in all major areas for which advance bookings are opened.

Both films are getting good screen count in Telugu states and Overseas. So, it would be interesting to see which film will emerge as winner at the box office.

MCA is directed by Venu Sriram and Hello has Vikram Kumar at the helm.

Raju’s last minute changes for MCA shocks Nani

Natural Star Nani is riding high with back to back hits in his career and the actor is gearing up for the release of his next film Middle Class Abbayi (MCA) during the Christmas season. Directed by Sriram Venu, MCA trailer has been well accepted by the audience and Sai Pallavi is the female lead. Raju, the film’s producer who gives enough freedom for the director on the sets turns up quite typical in the editing room during the final cut. This is a regular procedure for the films that are produced on Sri Venkateswara Creations.

Raju as a habit was not impressed with couple of episodes of MCA during the second half and asked the director to chop them off. This did not go well with Nani and the actor was left in shock with the changes. After the discussion heated up, one of the episodes has been added back revealed a close source from the movie’s unit. Nani too was not in a mood to compromise and he revealed about his recent track record to Raju and the ace producer had to step down from his stand. MCA is slated for December 21st release.

Multi-starrers films are all the rage in Tollywood. Among the bunch of multi-starrers that were announced in recent times, one will feature Akkineni Nagarjuna and Natural star Nani in the lead roles.

The crazy multi-starrer will be helmed by young and talented director Sriram Aditya who is known for films like Bhale Manchi Roju and Shamanthakamani.

The pre production activities are currently on and the regular shooting will commence from February first week. Nani, who has wrapped up his upcoming film MCA, is left with 20 days shoot of his next film Krishnarjuna Yuddham. Also, Nagarjuna will resume filming RGV’s film. Both Nani and Nagarjuna decided to commence the multi-starrer from February. Currently, the hunt for female leads and other technicians is on.

Ashwini Dutt will bankroll the film on Vyjayanthi Movies banner. The untitled film will be a slapstick comedy with plenty of twists and thrills.

Former heroine Bhumika Chawla, who worked with top stars like Pawan, Mahesh and NTR in her heydays, is making a comeback to Tollywood with a prominent role in Natural star Nani’s upcoming family drama MCA which is slated to hit the screens next week.

The ‘ Kushi ‘ actress will be seen as Nani’s sister in law ( Vadhina in Telugu) in MCA and the entire story is weaved around the Vadhina – Maridhi bond, which is probably s first of its kind in Tollywood. Reports suggest that Bhumika’s role has more weight than the film’s leading lady Sai Pallavi. The recently released trailer also hinted that it is Bhumika’s role which carries the film’s narrative forward.

For audience who were impressed with Sai Pallavi’s domineering act in Varun Tej’s Fidaa, her character with little substance in MCA might come as a little disappointed. Nevertheless, she is going to be seen in a more glamorous avatar this time.

Natural Star Nani’s upcoming fare Middle Class Abbayi (MCA) is talk of the town for many reasons. Some of the reasons are- the presence of Nani in a third film this year and seeing his track record already, he is bound to score another hit! Fidaa fame Sai Pallavi is the female lead opposite Nani in this film which has increased the bar even more.

After KAY, Nani to start this interesting project immediately

Nani will kick start Vikram Kumar’s film

Natural star Nani is awaiting the third release of this year in the form of MCA which is slated to hit the screens on December 21st. His next film Krishnarjuna Yuddham ( KAY) in the direction of Merlapaka Gandhi is also nearing completion. Only 20 days shoot is left to be canned and the film will make it to screens in early Summer.

It is learnt that soon after wrapping up KAY, Nani will kick start Vikram Kumar’s film without taking much break. As reported earlier, the 24 director pitched a refreshing plot that suits Nani’s image and got the nod immediately. Mahesh Babu’s sister Manjula will pool resources for this project.

Sources close to Nani say that he is keen on commencing Vikram Kumar’s film next keeping aside other commitments. So, the regular shooting of Nani – Vikram Kumar film will start rolling very soon.

Vikram Kumar is currently busy with the post production of Akhil’s Hello which is gearing up for release in a couple of weeks.

Nani wraps up MCA, visits Tirupati with family

Natural star Nani will round off a decent year with his upcoming film MCA which is slated to hit the screens on December 21st. Directed by Venu Sriram, the family entertainer has young sensation Sai Pallavi as the female lead and former actress Bhumika Chawla in a crucial role.

The entire shooting formalities have been wrapped up with the recently concluded Spain schedule in which two romantic duets were canned featuring the lead pair. Nani returned to India and today he visited Tirupati with his family to seek blessings of Lord Venkateswara Swamy ahead of the film’s release.

The post production activities of MCA are also nearing completion. Dil Raju is the film’s producer.

After title track and Kothaga song, the makers of Nani’s next MCA has released the third song from the movie “Emaindo Teliyadu Naku” and the soothing lyrics will definitely impress the audience. Natural Star Nani is all set for his third release this year with Middle Class Abbayi (MCA). As the name says, the film discusses about the life story of a middle class family and their struggles. Sriram Venu is making his comeback as a director with MCA after an enough gap. Sai Pallavi is the female lead and the entire shoot of the film has been wrapped up. Dil Raju arranged a press meet to reveal about the happenings of the film. Two songs have been shot in Europe recently with which the entire shoot has been wrapped up.

MCA will have Bhumika in a crucial role and she will be playing the role of Nani’s brother’s wife (Vadina) in the film. The bonding between the lead actor and his vadina is the main highlight of the film and this has never been discussed on Telugu screen over the recent years revealed Raju. Rajeev Kanakala and Naresh will be seen in other pivotal roles in MCA which is gearing up for December 21st release. Devi Sri Prasad is composing the tunes and the theatrical trailer, music will be out on December 11th.

Natural Star Nani has his dairy full till the end of 2019. He has been signing interesting projects and is in busy with MCA which has been slated for 2018 release. MCA is the second outing of Nani with top producer Dil Raju after a blockbuster like Nenu Local. Nani is also busy shooting for his next film titled Krishnarjuna Yuddham in the direction of Merlapaka Gandhi which will hit the screens early next year. Dil Raju approached Nani for a multi-starrer and Nani was completely impressed with the script.

The actor has his hands full of movies and he is not in a mood to delay any of his signed projects. Hence he walked out of Dil Raju’s project explaining about his packed schedules. Heroes transforming themselves into movie producers is not a new thing in the film industry, but the success rate is very less. Only countable heroes have tasted success at the box office as producers who got backed up by had big production houses like Geetha Arts and Suresh Productions. But things have changed right now and our current generation hero won’t hesitate to produce a film if they like the story and take the complete responsibility on their shoulders. Recently Natural Star Nani has stepped into production with “Awe” and first look received positive talk. Nani initially did not plan to become a film producer but things have fallen into place unexpectedly.

Young talent Prasanth Varma has impressed everyone with his short film “Silent Melody” which was produced by Sundeep Kishan. Prasanth meet Nani, narrated him the story and requested him to give voice-over for his debut film. After hearing the full narration idea of producing the film got popped up in hero Nani’s mind and expressed his desire to Prasanthth. But Prasanth already had producers onboard and was unsure about keeping the entire project into Nani’s hand leaving his original producers and at the same time, he can not avoid the Natural star.

But Nani insisted that once he steps into the project then there will be no issues in film promotions, the movie will be marketed as a star hero film with a big release. Hero further pushed to at least make him the partner in movie production. Finally, under 50-50 term bases, Nani joined into the film as a producer.

As time passed by the original producers move out and Nani became the single producer for Awe movie. Awe film story revolves around nine characters, so Nani has made this project with perfect production plan by casting actors who are very close to him. Because of the close relation with Natural star, the cast has taken nominal paychecks. A whopping 2 crores are spent on a special set for Awe film and the entire filming is carried out in the set.

As per sources, Awe got wrapped up in a budget of 4 to 5 crores. Nani has his own brand name and with star casting like Kajal, Regina, Nithya Menon will yield to big promotions for the film. Industry insiders are predicting that Awe can fetch a minimum 10 crores in its pre-release business phase only. Let’s wish Nani get successful as a producer and make more films to entertain audiences.
