YS Jagan first day Padayatra speech

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was lambasted by YSRCP Chief Jagan Mohan Reddy lambasted over “rampant corruption, nepotism and utter inefficiency” in his administration. Jagan who launched his 3,000-km walkathon today said Naidu has pushed the state backwards in the last four years.

Moreover, to get him elected in 2019 for the welfare and development of the state, Jaganmohan Reddy also sought the support of people. “People think Jagan is a good man like his father (late Andhra Pradesh chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy). My only zeal is to help the public,” the Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh Assembly said.

After paying homage at the grave of his father, Jagan’s Praja Sankalpa Padayatra was launched at RK Valley in his native Kadapa district. A slogan was coined by the YSRC “Raavali Jagan, Kaavali Jagan” (Jagan should come. We want Jagan) for the padayatra. Jagan will cover across 125 Assembly segments in 13 districts of the state over the next six-seven months.

In his quest to secure power in 2019, Jaganmohan Reddy intends to interact with at least two crore people of the state during his padayatra.

“A former chief secretary who worked under Chandrababu Naidu has openly stated that governance is rotting in the state. Corruption is rampant, nepotism in ruling the roost while the administration is suffering due to utter inefficiency”.

“Chandrababu Naidu government’s atrocities and corrupt practices are omnipresent across the state. From a village to the (state) capital. Not a single brick has been laid for the capital in the last three years,” the YSRC chief said.

A “great ordeal” under the current government is being faced by various sections of the society like farmers, students, women etc, alleged the YSRCP Supremo. “Weavers and peasants are committing suicide. I have undertaken this ‘padayatra’ to understand the plight of the people. I will introspect as to how to alleviate their pain,” Jaganmohan Reddy said.

Jagan said that formulating a “people’s manifesto”, is the objective behind embarking on the mass outreach programme. He said that the manifesto will comprise just two pages, for the 2019 polls. “I will elicit a public opinion as well as suggestions for this,” he added.

Jaganmohan Reddy said he has the “zeal” to achieve the same and asserted that the special category status (SPC) is the only remedy for the truncated state. “Securing SCS for AP and providing jobs to all unemployed youths is my wish. I also wish to bring in a revolution in education,” he said.

Jagan meets Ramoji Rao

YSR Congress Party President Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy reportedly met Eenadu Group chairman Cherukuri Ramoji Rao at Hyderabad on Monday.

The opposition leader allegedly sought his blessings for Padayatra and spoke for about 40 minutes on CBI Court’s decision among other things. Bhumana Karunakar Reddy apparently accompanied Jagan, as per ABN Andhrajyothy.

The winds have changed different direction these days, especially with Eenadu giving considerable coverage to Jagan.

However, ahead of his Padayatra, it is the second time this month Jagan made an unexpected stop at most surprizing place. Previously he met Tridandi Chinna Jeeyar Swamy at Muchintal near Shamshabad.

Jagan to start “Padayatra” from November 2nd

0

YCRSP chief Jagan is planning to start his ‘Padayatra’ from 2nd November. During this, he will tour entire state, covering approximately 3000 km. He will start the tour from Idupulapaya on November.

It is known news that he previously announced that he will commence this state tour on 27th October but later cancelled it as that date falls on Friday and he has to attend court personally on Friday regarding his illegal assets cases by CBI. He even sought for the permission from court to exempt him from attending personally. But court has rejected his appeal. So, as he can not start the tour on Friday, he cancelled.

Now he announced a new date that is, 2nd November which falls on Thursday. So, if he starts the tour on Thursday, he will have to give break for the tour on the next day itself to attend the court. Obviously the ruling party will take a dig at these breaks during Padayatra and we have to see how Jagan responds on this.

Addressing a rally in Obuladevaracheruvu village in Anantapuramu district on Friday he said he would not back out from these demands like TDP and BJP.

Recalling that BJP had assured to bestow special status on AP,  he said now both TDP and YSRC leaders had conveniently compromised with Modi government.  Rahul said  to reach the top rank among the Indian states AP needs special category status.

He said Congress would stand by the farmers and weavers of the state and fight for the improvement of their lives.

” My grandmother Indiramma had a special bond with Andhra Pradesh people. She visited this village when I was a child. I am proud to say that I too have an equally strong bond with the people of Andhra Pradesh,” he said.

Rahul who arrived in the village this morning  from Bengaluru to console the families of farmers and weavers whose committed suicide because of growing indebtedness during the one year rule of TDP.

He  accused PM Modi of trying to rob the lands of formers to give away them to corporate companies.

“ The UPA government had  brought about the land acquisition bill in such a manner that no government can take away their lands on the pretext of SEZs or some other purposes. Now, Modi government is planning to dilute statue. We won’t allow,” he declared.

Rahul gave away ex-gratia on behalf of Congress party to 45 families.

He visited the place and planted a sapling  where his grand mother Indira Gandhi  addressed the public meeting in 1979.

Rahul, after interacting with farmers launched his 30 km-long  Padayatra from Obuladevaracheruvu to Mamillakunta village to meet other families of farmers and weavers.

Earlier, former union minister and Congress leader K Chiranjeevi rapped Telugu Desam government for cheating farmers in the form of  loan-waiver. He said suicides among the farmers were on the rise in state. In the past one year, Chiranjeevi  said, state reported an increase of 35 per cent in suicides. This data was official and compiled by national crime records bureau, he added.

He lambasted the TDP chief minister Naidu for cheating poor farmers after getting votes on the promise of loan waiver.

He said a farmer present in the meeting told him that for a loan of about Rs 4000 he got only Rs 110 waiver.

“Just like Sonia visited the area before 2004 to console the families of farmers who committed suicide as a result of 9-year TDP rule, Rahul was here to again console and reassure the victims of present TDP rule.  He said as in 2004, in 2019 as well, history would be repeated and Congress would come to power,” Chiranjeevi said.

PCC president N Raghuvira Reddy translated Rahul’s speech in to Telugu.

All senior leaders from the state including C Ramanchandraiah, KVP Ramachandra Rao, T Subbiramireddy etc participated in Padayatra.
