All of a sudden, the BJP has turned its tables on Jana Sena without any prior notice. In fact, a coordination committee is there between the two parties to decide on political matters. The BJP is fully aware that Pawan Kalyan is in the front race to become the CM in the next elections. But now, BJP AP President Somu Veerraju has announced that their party would make a BC leader as the next Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.

Interestingly, Veerraju spoke on behalf of his party and did not mention their alliance with the Jana Sena. The Sainiks have not yet responded to this till now. The political circles were also surprised why Veerraju has suddenly raised this issue. In the past 20 months, the Jagan regime has launched attacks on the BC leaders like Atchannaidu, Ramakrishnudu, Kollu Ravindra and scores of others. The BJP did not express its solidarity.

The BJP kept silent for the most part during the attacks on the Dalits, BCs and so on. But it raised its voice on the temple attacks. Thus, it made it clear to the AP voters that it was sheerly and solely a religious party with the Hindutva agenda.
Probably, the BJP has a late realisation now that its purely religious agenda would not work in a caste-driven society like AP. No wonder, the lastest BC CM slogan of the BJP would create a rift with the Jana Sena, which is already upset on many issues.

Jana Senani Pawan Kalyan has suddenly started responding to the subject of whether his brother Chiranjeevi will support his party or not. Even BJP AP President Somu Veerraju has been repeatedly saying that they will have Chiranjeevi support along with other parties to come to power in AP in 2024. In his latest comments, Pawan has asserted that he is one of the founders of the Praja Rajyam Party and that Chiranjeevi’s moral support will always be there for his political plans.
With the panchayat elections under way and the Tirupati bypoll soon to take place, both Veerraju and Pawan are busy bringing the Kapu vote bank on to a single platform. They say there are over 27 percent of Kapu vote banks in the State. If there is unity, they will certainly come to power.

Amid this, Pawan says in his latest comments that the Kapus should not be seen as a vote bank community by any party any longer. At the same time, both the BJP and the Jana Sena are making all out efforts to unify the Kapu vote banks. The problem here is there are many sub castes within the Kapus and they are shifting their loyalties to different parties depending on the circumstances.

Undoubtedly, Veerraju and Pawan are talking about Chiranjeevi, Mudragada, Harirama Jogaiah and other Kapu leaders only with the hope of winning over their caste vote banks from the YCP and the TDP.

Jana Senani Pawan Kalyan has held a meeting with BJP AP President Somu Veerraju amid the speculation on their decisions regarding the Tirupati parliament segment bypoll. They have not yet finalised their joint candidate. Just like before, both the leaders could not come to a conclusion on which party candidate should contest the election.

After the meeting, Pawan clarified that he had discussed with Veerraju about the issues concerning the bypoll. A final decision on the candidate was not taken yet. The issue was kept pending for further debate between the two parties.
Senani however said that both the parties were discussing in depth the strategies to be adopted in order to pull out a victory in the byelection. On his part, Veerraju kept silent on the issue of the candidate selection for now. He used to indicate in many words that the BJP would nominate its candidate in the past but not any more.

It is understandable that both Pawan and Veerraju were eager to put out a strong outward appearance that they were very serious about contesting and winning Tirupati seat. Even several weeks after the TDP and the YCP announced their nominees, both the BJP and the Jana Sena are not able to come to an agreement on their candidate selection.

The Jana Sena cadres in Tirupati are indeed upset that the BJP is still expecting to put up its candidate despite lack of enough base in the constituency. It is highly unlikely for both the parties to make an early decision till after the poll notification is issued.
