Prakash Raj responds about MAA Elections

1

Veteran actor Prakash Raj announced that he would contest in the MAA Elections for President. Manchu Vishnu, Jeevitha Rajasekhar and Hema are the other contestants and the election heat is on even before three months. Prakash Raj interacted with the media today in Filmnagar Cultural Centre, Hyderabad along with his panel. There are speculations that Prakash Raj sought the support of Megastar Chiranjeevi. Responding about this, Prakash Raj questioned why Chiranjeevi’s name was dragged into the issue for a small election that has 800 active members.

He said that the decision was not made recently and he decided to contest in MAA Elections a year ago. “Whoever wins in the elections, we will work together. I have been insulted several times with the remark of non-local. I completed my silver jubilee in Telugu cinema recently. There would no chance for the word non-local in film industry. Me and my panel will not conduct any press meets and will not be active till the elections commence. We are against the debates” told Prakash Raj during his press meet.

Pawan playing ‘Oosaravelli’ politics: Prakash Raj

4

Noted character actor Prakash Raj has made sensational remarks on Jana Senani Pawan Kalyan. Prakash is known for his anti-BJP leanings. Hence, it is not surprising that he has attacked Senani. But, the manner in which Prakash Raj launched a scathing attack has surprised the political circles.

Prakash Raj asked whether a leader should stick to some ideology or not. In 2014, Pawan supported the BJP and praised it to the skies. In 2019, he changed his policy and described the BJP leaders as betrayers of the people. It was clear Pawan did not maintain a uniform policy.

Prakash Raj expressed surprise that now in the GHMC polls, Pawan changed his stand yet again and started asking people to vote for the BJP. Was this not ‘Oosaravelli’ politics? Pawan was the leader of a party but it looked sad that he was seeking votes for some other party.

It is well known that KCR and KTR have endeared themselves to the film industry a lot in recent times. Amid this, Prakash Raj came out openly expressing his opinions against the BJP and its allies. Pawan became his immediate target.

Rana, Prakash Raj, Tamannah get notices

2

The Madras High Court on Tuesday issued notices to Rana Daggubati, Prakash Raj, and Tamannah for endorsing online gambling games.

The court also sent notices to former India cricket captain and BCCI chairman Sourav Ganguly, the present cricket team captain Virat Kohli.

While pointing out that online gambling games are banned in Telangana, the Madras High Court directed the Tamil Nadu government to impose a ban on such games. The court was hearing a petition filed seeking a ban on online gambling games.

The court was rather angry at celebrities endorsing online gambling games. “These celebrities seem to be worried about filling their pockets and not care about the welfare of the people. Where is the money that is used in gambling games is going,” the Madras High Court wondered and asked both the State and Central governments to respond within 15 days.

The court observed that online gambling games would set a wrong example for the public, and the apps play with the lives of the people.

Finally, Prakash Raj stops throwing tantrums

0

Once used to be favorite to all the leading directors in Tollywood, the award-winning actor Prakash Raj is now struggling to find work. The filmmakers have moved to work with a wide variety of talents. Jagapathi Babu, Sathyaraj, Rao Ramesh, Samuthirakani and others have replaced Prakash Raj for character or villain roles. Directors now have a bouquet of choices unlike in the past. Thus Prakash Raj has lost the clout.

Earlier producers feared to raise a voice against his starry tantrums and used to heed to all his unreasonable demands on the sets. But today, Prakash Raj doesn’t enjoy such star status.

A classic example is a recent incident on the sets of Balakrishna’s ‘Ruler’. Prakash Raj tried to show highhandedness when a shot is getting delayed. He scolded the cameraman and the cinematographer retorted in strong words. He told Prakash Raj to leave the film if he has any problem. But Prakash Raj meekly remained silent and started working. What a change!

It is good for the industry and it also augurs well for his career.

When Prakash Raj got a fitting reply from a technician

0

Prakash Raj is one of the most talented Indian actors and he has ample experience in the craft. He tested his luck as an actor, character artist, director and producer. Along with these, his life is filled with a bunch of controversies. Several top filmmakers complained of his attitude on the sets because of which several cases got registered and he was even banned from several industries. Film circles speculate that Prakash Raj is still the same and he never intends to change himself. The actor showed his rude behavior on the sets of Balakrishna’s Ruler recently which did not surprise many.

But for the first time, Prakash Raj got a fitting reply from a technician which never happened on the sets. Prakash Raj and Bhumika had a shot and when Bhumika is preparing herself, Prakash Raj lost his cool and started shouting that he should be called only after things are fixed. The film’s cinematographer Ram Prasad replied saying “You have to be patient and this is not your house”. With nothing much to do, Prakash Raj got embarrassed and started waiting for Bhumika.

Nandamuri Balakrishna too was present on the sets when the incident took place and he stood as support for Ram Prasad. Though the movie unit felt that Prakash Raj would walk out from the sets, he was present and completed the shot. Along with talent, an actor should have patience and should behave well on the sets. Prakash Raj is already neglected by several industries because of his behaviour and he is already short of offers.

Directed by KS Ravikumar, Ruler is slated for December 20th release. Balakrishna, Sonal Chauhan and Vedhika are the lead actors.

Modi has become an actor, says Prakash Raj

0

Popular South Indian actor-activist Prakash Raj slammed PM Modi on the various problems confronting the nation right now. During his visit to Delhi, Prakash Raj said that Modi has transformed into an actor who is diverting attention and not bothering to solve problems of the people. Raj has extended his full support to the Same Aadmi Party of Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi elections.

Prakash Raj said that both the two national parties would taste bitter defeat in the present general elections in the country. It’s because of their failures to improve the lot of poor people despite their regimes for decades. Raj is not a member of the AAP but he expressed his support because of the part’s pro-people ideologies. Raj is contesting the Lok Sabha election as an independent from Bangalore City.

Actor Prakash Raj meets Kejriwal

0

Days after the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) extended support to Prakash Raj for deciding to contest the Lok Sabha election as an independent candidate, he met AAP leader and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal here on Thursday.

At the meeting held at Kejriwal’s residence, the two discussed a number of issues.

“Met Kejriwal, thanked him and AAP for the support in my political journey. Discussed and requested to share various ways to address issues which his team has commendably done,” tweeted the actor, who has been critical of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government.

Prakash Raj to contest 2019 poll as an independent

0

Well-known actor Prakash Raj has announced his decision to enter the election fray in 2019. An established film personality in South Indian industry, he is also widely known for his links with politicians and social activists. Prakash Raj’s name hit newspaper headlines when he questioned the silence of PM Modi on the murder of senior journalist Gauri Lankesh in Bangalore. His comments earned the wrath of the BJP activists and the NDA leaders at that time.

Prakash Raj’s latest decision is seen apparently as a move to pursue his political career to oppose the BJP. However, he is not expected to join any other opposition party as of now. He has said he will contest as an independent candidate in the Lok Sabha polls. The actor has met with Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhara Rao sometime ago but no word has come out on what transpired between them.

It is nothing new film personalities take a plunge into politics once their innings in film industry is coming to a near close. Already, Rajnikanth and Kamal Haasan have entered the politics. Unlike many others, Prakash Raj is not going to form any party of his own and his intentions are solely to be some sort of a lone crusader in support of like-minded groups. The Karnataka BJP leaders have criticised Raj for his alleged Left leanings.

Zero marks to Modi : Prakash Raj

2

Actor Prakash Raj Who has been BJP party and its leaders ‘just asking’ questions came down heavily on Prime Minister in an interview. When the reporter asked him how many marks he will give to prime minister Modi’s ruling, he told ‘ZERO marks’. He explained the reasons for his statement.

He reminded, Modi told during demonetization that after 50 days people will see the results of this demonetization move. Modi also told people can punish me if they don’t see results after 50 days. Prakash Raj told like all the people, he also believed Modi’s statement. Not just 50 days, but even after one and half year, still people are facing problems. Prakash Raj also questioned, if demonetization had wiped off all the black money, from where BJP got black money now to spend in Karnataka elections.

Prakash Raj also added, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has created a new record in telling lies. So he should be given the title of “Great liar” (Sullendra). Prakash Raj also questioned, “Who is Yeddyurappa to say that he has forgiven the mistakes made by the Gali brothers? Do you forgive them for 15 seats?”

Prakash Raj concluded that, he does not belong to any political party and he just asked questions on behalf of people. He said, he said he will question all political parties, not just BJP.

Prakash Raj files case on BJP MP for ₹ 1 compensation

1

Versatile actor Prakash Raj has filed a defamation case against BJP MP Pratap Simha and sought a compensation of ₹ 1 from Mr. Simha.

Prakash Raj has been targeting Modi and his policies through social media since Gauri Lankesh’s murder. BJP MP Prathap Simha responded to Prakash Raj, but in ugly manner. On October 2, Simha made personal remarks on Prakash Raj’s posts on social media. He commented on the actor’s wife, and his late son. After Raj commented on Narendra Modi for his silence on the journalist Gauri Lankesh’s murder, Simha tweeted: “Being sad due to son’s death, having left your wife and run behind a dancer, do you Mr Raj have any right/ legitimacy/ worthiness to say anything to Yogi-Modi?’

But MP deleted that post later. However, Prakash Raj tweeted, “You can delete your abusive troll tweets n posts.. can you delete it from people’s memory”. Now Prakash Raju filed case on MP for defaming him on social media platforms. But he sought only one rupee as compensation. With regard to seeking damages of just one rupee, Prakash Raj explained that he had not filed the defamation case for the sake of money but just to teach to a lesson to persons holding responsible positions in the society and misusing social media platforms for their personal benefit.

Prakash Raj vs Producer on BJP ‘s Gujarat victory

0

Prakash Raj vs Producer Madhura Sreedhar

Since Gauri Lankesh’s murder, Prakash Raj has been vocal on questioning BJP’s policies, methodologies and ideologies. He has been asking questions that are really embarrassing to BJP party and he is even targeting PM Modi time and again. Even after Gujarat’s victory he again fired salvos as he tweeted set of questions that aimed to disparage BJP’s victory in Modi’s home sate. His tweet is as below:

Dear prime minster, Congratulations for the victory… but are you really happy.. Dear sir, Congratulations…yes..but Weren’t you supposed to SWEEP with your VIKAAS..What happened to 150+..? will you pause for a moment to realize a) Divisive politics has not worked b) Our country has bigger issues than Pakistan..religion..cast..supporting fringe groups that threaten..and the ego of settling Personel scores. c) There are genuine rural issues..The neglected voice of the farmer..poor..rural india…just got a little LOUDER. Can you hear…#justasking

For his questions, he got response from unexpected quarters. Director and Producer Madhura Sreedhar who made films like Sneha Geetham,Backbench Student, Fashion Designer s/o Ladies Tailor reacted very sharply to Prakash Raj’s comments. He replied –

What is your problem? You always trouble your producers and directors. Are you happy with your self conceit? Don’t just try to make headlines! Work on a genuine cause & make an impact as leader. Then u comment & we will take u seriously

Though Prakash Raj has been doing #justasking series for quite sometime, this is the first time he got such sharp criticism from a celebrity, that too from a person belonging to film industry. We have to wait and see how Prakash Raj reacts to this.

Kannada actor sends legal notice to BJP MP over ‘trolling’

0

Kannada actor Prakash Raj on Thursday sent a legal notice to BJP Lok Sabha member from the state Pratap Simha over his alleged trolling of the actor.

“I have sent a legal notice to Pratap Simha as a citizen of this country for the way he has trolled me which has disturbed my personal life. I am asking him to answer legally and if he doesn’t, I will be taking legal action,” Raj told reporters here.

Simha, who represents Mysuru constituency, had tweeted on October 2: “Being sad due to son’s death, having left your wife and ran behind a dancer, Mr. Raj, do you have any right to say anything to (Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister) Yogi (Adityanath), (Prime Minister Narendra) Modi.”

The tweet from Simha, along with a link to an article by a Kannada website with the same line as its headline, had come just after the actor had blamed Prime Minister Modi for following those people on social media who were celebrating the murder of senior Kannada editor and activist Gauri Lankesh, who was shot dead on September 5.

Raj had also criticised the UP Chief Minister for his statements and said he was a “better actor than him and that he must give away his national awards to him”.

Reacting to the legal notice, Simha told a Kannada news channel that he had only retweeted the article.

“Even Twitter mentions that retweets don’t necessarily mean endorsements. I had only retweeted an article,” Simha had responded.

Raj said the legal notice had nothing to do with the political party that Simha belongs to, but was only a fight against the individual.

“Let the court decide if he should remain in politics. Citizens will not stop asking questions,” the 52-year-old actor said, calling Simha a “serial offender”.

Raj had lost his son at the age of five few years ago.

Just popularity not enough for politics, Prakash tells actors

0

Actor-filmmaker Prakash Raj on Sunday said actors should not take to politics only because they are popular and said fans should vote not as fans but as responsible citizens.

Prakash tweeted: “Actors should not come into politics only because they are popular. It is a disaster.

“They should come with a clear perception of the issues facing the country and win the trust of the people. And we should not vote as fans, but as responsible citizens.”

Actor Prakash Raj wants apology for note ban

0

A year since the implementation of demonetisation, actor-filmmaker Prakash Raj on Wednesday demanded an apology from the central government for committing the “biggest blunder”.

In a post titled “To whomsoever it may concern”, Prakash wrote on Twitter: “While the rich found ways to convert their black money into shiny new notes, this disruptive impact made millions suffer helplessly and the unorganised sector workers went for spin. Would you mind saying sorry for the biggest blunder of our time?”

On November 8, 2016, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes which, he said, was aimed at “eradicating black money and terror funding”.

Last week, Prakash — a popular name in the Kannada, Telugu and Tamil film industries — supported actor Kamal Haasan’s views on “Hindu extremists”.

A month ago, Prakash had also condemned the “silence” of Modi on certain sections “celebrating” the murder of journalist Gauri Lankesh in Bengaluru on social media. He had said Modi’s silence was “chilling”.
