KGF started as a Kannada film and it is now a pan-Indian project. It was Prashanth Neel’s vision that made the first installment a super hit and paved path for a sequel. Explaining about the journey of KGF, Prashanth Neel said “We started the journey of the film in the mid of 2014. After Hombale Films agreed to do the film, we approached Yash and got his nod. I took a year to complete the script of KGF and the shoot commenced in early 2017. None among us made such a big movie before. It is our journey and hard work which made KGF a huge project”.

He said “I thank Yash and my production house for the immense support throughout the journey. A month after the shoot, I got the idea of making KGF into two parts. We took a break for a month and completed the screenplay of the film. After the first installment ended up as a massive hit, I got ample budget for the sequel. KGF: Chapter 2 would be emotional and action-packed. We picked up the right actors and the biggest conflict in the film is between Yash and Sanjay Dutt”. KGF: Chapter 2 is gearing up for a record release tomorrow.

During the film’s promotions, Prashanth Neel was questioned about his next film Salaar releasing in two parts. Indian media has been speculating that Salaar will release in two installments. During the film’s promotions in Hyderabad, Prashanth Neel responded about Salaar.

“We have not decided about Salaar releasing in two parts. If we have the plans, we will make an official announcement through a grand event. For now, my focus is on KGF: Chapter 2” told Prashanth Neel. The talented director did not clarify about Salaar and he left the answer to the media. Prashanth Neel is also not in a mood to divert the attention of KGF: Chapter 2 towards Salaar. If Salaar ends up as a super hit, Prashanth Neel will plan a sequel for the film immediately. After KGF: Chapter 1 lived up to the expectations and ended up as a super hit, Prashanth Neel announced the sequel.

Prabhas is currently on a break and he will resume the shoot of Salaar later this year. The film is a high-voltage action drama and Shruti Haasan is the leading lady.

With ‘KGF: Chapter 2’ gearing up for release, the buzz around the movie’s star continues to grow.

The movie’s director Prashant Neel told Bollywood actor and director Farhan Akhtar about the film’s star Yash’s role in the KGF success story.

Yash and ‘KGF’ garnered a worldwide following after the release of the ‘KGF: Chapter 1’. The actor who enjoys a massive Kannada fan base, emerged as a pan-India star with the release of the film in 2018.

In a recent interaction with Farhan Akhtar, Yash and Prashanth Neel spoke in detail about the process of developing KGF into the big name that it is today.

Prashanth mentioned that KGF’s eight-year-long journey gave them the confidence which helped them take the film to another level. The filmmaker also added, “When we started we never thought that we would be where we are today”.

Crediting Yash, Neel extended his gratitude and said “The only person that had this vision was Yash. We started this as a small Kannada project and today the film is really big and the expectations are very high”

Adding more to the discussion, Prashant said “Initially, it was meant to be a Kannada movie. However, Yash helped cinematic comedy in the same way he wrote the script. This movie is coming to a release. It feels like I am marrying off my daughter”, said Prashant.

Releasing nationwide on April 14, in Kannada, Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, and Malayalam, ‘K.G.F: Chapter 2’ is written and directed by Prashanth Neel, and produced by Vijay Kiragandur, under the Hombale Films banner.

An emerging pan-India production house Hombale Films is set to showcase some of the biggest films in Indian cinema over the next two years, including the much-awaited film ‘Salaar’ starring Prabhas.

‘KGF: Chapter 2’ is being presented in north Indian markets by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment and AA Films. Excel has given super hits like ‘Dil Chahta Hai’, ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’, ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’, and ‘Gully Boy’ among others.

With just a few days left for the release of his highly anticipated KGF-2, director Prashanth Neel has spoken about his forthcoming film with NTR Junior during media interactions.

Now being called as NTR31, the big budget movie will be bankrolled by NTR Arts and Mythri Movie Makers. “I have been a fan of Jr. NTR for last 20 years; He has liked my story. I am super excited about the film,” revealed Prashanth Neel.

Stating he was not ready to reveal the genre of the movie “because it’s far off at the moment,” Prashanth went on to add: We have met 10 to 15 times just casually before we even started script work. I wanted to understand him a little more and that’s my process with all my actors.

Giving more details, he said, “It has been a great journey with NTR. We have become close friends over the last 2 years. He liked the story that I have written and we are working on it right now.” He also said he will discuss NTR film in detail closer to the release of Salaar.

Prabhas’s next film ‘Salaar’ is one of the most-anticipated movies.

Director Prashanth Neel, who has been busy with the ‘KGF: Chapter 2’ release, has clarified a few things related to ‘Salaar’, ending multiple rumours around the movie’s story.

A lot of rumors about ‘Salaar’ being the continuation of the ‘KGF’ franchise are making rounds on the Internet. Also, there are other stories run by some websites that ‘Salaar’ is a remake of Prashant Neel’s directorial debut ‘Ugramm’, which is a Kannada movie.

Trashing all the rumours about Prabhas’s much-anticipated upcoming movie ‘Salaar’, director stated, “All of the films that I make will have some shades of Ugramm. That’s my style! But Salaar is a fresh story. It’s not a remake or adaptation of Ugramm.”

This clarifies that ‘Salaar’ is an original story and doesn’t belong to any other franchise. Prabhas will be seen in a dynamic role in ‘Salaar’, while Sruthi Haasan will play the female lead. It is reported that 30 per cent of shooting for ‘Salaar’ has been wrapped up already.

KGF: Chapter 1 created a sensation across the country and the film’s director Prashanth Neel is in huge demand. He is done with the work of KGF: Chapter 2 and the film releases in summer. Phars Films acquired the overseas rights of both the biggies for a whopping amount of Rs 100 crores. This is a huge deal for an Indian film excluding Baahubali and RRR.

KGF: Chapter 2 has Yash and Srinidhi Shetty in the lead roles and the film is announced for April 14th release. Salaar is an action thriller and Prabhas plays the role of a mafia don. Hombale Films are producing both these projects. The release date of Salaar is yet to be announced and the shooting portions will be completed by the end of April.

Nag Ashwin’s film is delayed as it needs ample time to complete and Prabhas is keen to complete Prashanth Neel’s film and Adipurush first. Prashanth Neel’s film will release in 2021 and Adipurush will release in 2022 as per the lineup.
