YSRCP leader and film producer PVP attends before police

1

In recent times, YSRCP leader and film producer PVP is in news more because of controversies than because of his films. Today he, along with his family members, attended before Jubillee Hills police station. Details as follows.

2018 Kidnap case:

In 2018, there were allegations on PVP that he kidnapped Timma Reddy, one of his employees. Wife of Timma Reddy filed a police case in this regard. Police registered a case on PVP and his wife but PVP got anticipatory bail. As the tenure of that bail is over, today he along with his family members had to present themselves before the police.

Case on PVP for unleashing dogs on police:

A couple of months ago, PVP also was in news for the wrong reasons. He allegedly threatened one of his neighbors who was carrying on some construction activity. As per his neighbor, PVP threatened him not to continue any construction activities. Irked by this, he gave a police complaint. When police went to serve notice to PVP, he and his wife unleashed 5 dogs on the police who entered their premises. Shocked by this, police escaped from the place and filed cases against PVP.

These are just a couple of cases out of many that PVP is facing. He had complaints from the industry people, his employees, his neighbors, and industrialists.

PVP aims a comeback to Telugu cinema

0

Prasad V Potluri, a renowned businessman and film producer has been away from films for some time. Last year, he produced Evaru and the film raked decent revenues. He has been in plans to make a strong comeback with a big-budget film this year. Even before the release of Maharshi, PVP along with Dil Raju paid an advance amount of Rs 2 crores (1 crore each) for the director Vamshi Paidipally.

Vamshi is now busy preparing the script for Mahesh Babu’s upcoming movie that will roll from summer. PVP is in plans to co-produce the film along with Dil Raju and make a strong comeback to Telugu cinema. With no lead actor allocating dates for PVP, he is in plans to produce Mahesh Babu’s film. His banner PVP Cinema is in talks for a bunch of concept-based films that will roll this year. PVP aims a strong comeback this year.

PVP levies allegations on directors, conveniently ignores stars

0

‘Problem is with directors, not the stars’, says producer PVP, alleging that directors are the ones responsible for the huge losses Telugu producers are incurring these days. Levying these sharp allegations, he gave clean chit to our stars, which is raising the eyebrows now.

PVP has a genuine reason to take potshots at some of the directors as he says, “As the director is setting up the projects these days by impressing star heroes, they are calling the shots, making a mockery of producers. These days each producer is looking at the final output of his film only 48 hours before the release, and that should be changed very soon”. He gave an example of Brahmotsavam movie, alleging that director Srikanth Addala went to filming without any script.

Adhering to the notion that producers have become just ‘cashiers’, he further added, “Producer is the real employer who should have control over the content. There should be more efficient filmmaking process in place”. Accusing that directors are not doing proper pre-production to make movies, he arbitrated to say, “If a ten crore worth set is being built, the director should know the pain of it. Take complete ownership like Rajamouli and deliver the needful, or leave to the hands of producers”

“Stars do what directors say, and these directors don’t do proper pre-production thereby resulting in huge losses”, comes a final statement from him.

PVP’s concern is fine, but what about stars who should be as responsible as the director? Take Mahesh for example. He has taken a share in Brahmotsavam movie and focused on marketing all the time. Even a shot from a scene where he brings chappals of his father is sold to a Hyderabad based shoe store for hoardings. Rather focusing on quick money (huge money), he should have shown concern for the film’s story, isn’t it?

Maybe PVP wants to play the game carefully by hitting out at directors and trying to butter star heroes with his sweet talk. He has arrived a true politician after contesting on YSRCP ticket as MP of Vijayawada constituency, hasn’t he?

PVP – Mahesh Babu legal battle – The full backstory

0

It is well known that Superstar Mahesh Babu’s landmark film, which is currently on floors in Dehradun, has been facing a legal battle with producer PVP. Here is the full backstory of this issue.

Mahesh Babu initially committed to sign a three film deal for PVP after the debacle of Aagadu. The production house promised a hefty remuneration for Mahesh at that time. But, due to some reasons, the agreement was done for two films. The first film in their combination is Brahmotsavam. After the film tanked heavily at box office, Mahesh asked PVP to start working on next project with Vamshi Paidipalli and wanted to commence it immediately once the story is finalized.

PVP quickly started the pre production activities and spent nearly 3 Crores for story development. But, due to some differences with PVP, Vamshi Paidipalli approached Dil Raju and Aswini Dutt and officially announced the project leaving PVP in a blind spot.

Following this, PVP proceeded legally and filed a case with sealed cover script in Chennai high court. PVP got a stay on this project in November 2016. Vamshi Paidipalli and Dil Raju claimed that the story of their film is entirely different one and has not nexus with PVP’s film. But, PVP asserted that their claims doesn’t hold water as he has finalized character artists long back and Allari Naresh was roped in at that time itself.

As the tussle continued, Mahesh wrapped up Bharat Ane Nenu and was ready to start working on Vamshi Paidipalli’s project. This is when Namrata intervened and wanted to settle the issue with PVP. She met PVP at a mutual friend’s house and offered PVP a partnership in the project. She agreed to convice Dil Raju and make this into a joint production.

Meanwhile, Dil Raju and his team were hoping that the stay would be vacated and never wanted to meet PVP to settle the issue. The first hearing of the case was held on June 4th and the next hearing was held on June 11th. As Dil Raju’s lawyer didn’t attend due to personal reasons, the court moved the hearing to this 18th.

In the meantime, Dil Raju and team started shooting in Dehradun on this 17th, which is against the stay and contempt of the court. So, the judge is very serious on the team for defying the court’s orders.

PVP strongly believes that the decision will come in his favour. Sources close to PVP said his involvement in the project is a foregone conclusion. Additionally,he might take a commitment from Vamshi Paidipalli to do another project in future.

So, let’s hope the issue is settled amicably and the project proceeds smoothly.

Mahesh25 – Mired in a legal quagmire

Superstar Mahesh Babu’s silver jubilee film is going to be directed by Vamshi Paidipally. Star producers Aswini Dutt and Dil Raju will jointly bankroll this highly anticipated film. As the extensive pre production phase has been wrapped up, the regular shooting is expected to commence from next month. But, dark clouds are hovering on the start of this project as producer Prasad V Potluri has moved court to stay the project. Here is the detailed story :

Flashback to Aagadu :

Mahesh Babu’s career was going through a patchy phase after the embarrassing debacle of Aagadu. Post this film, he signed a two film deal with PVP banner. As per the agreement, Mahesh was supposed to do two films in four years and PVP promised a hefty remuneration which was very high at that time. Following this agreement, Mahesh worked with Srikanth Addala for Brahmotsavam in PVP banner. The film ended as a huge dud at box office.

Agreement with Vamshi Paidipally after Oopiri

At the same time, PVP also produced Vamshi Paidipally’s Oopiri and scored a decent hit. After this film, Vamshi committed to do another film for PVP banner and this is supposed to be with Mahesh Babu. Later, due to some differences with PVP, Vamshi suddenly announced that Dil Raju and Aswini Dutt will bankroll Mahesh25.

Irked by Vamshi’s decision, PVP lodged a complaint in film chamber against the director for not abiding his agreement and also threatened to move court.

Court stay on Mahesh25 :

After Vamshi and PVP didn’t come to a compromise, the latter has moved court and got a stay on the project. PVP claimed that he paid expenses for story development and other pre production work to Vamshi Paidipally. He also claimed that Mahesh Babu agreed to do another film for his banner.

Now, all eyes are on the court hearing which will be out on June 4th. PVP is in plans to move a higher court if the judgement doesn’t go his way. He wants to delay the project at any cost.

Being one of the producers for the project, Dil Raju tried to settle the tussle. He approached PVP to bring a compromise with Vamshi and Mahesh. But, PVP was reluctant to meet him and Dil Raju’s attempt proved to be futile. With no option left,he is also now waiting for the court’s judgement.

Either way, it is troubled times for this much awaited project. We have to wait and see how long will this protracted tussle delays Mahesh Babu’s landmark film.

Chit Chat : Rahul Singh plays baddie in Ghazi

0

Ghazi is being produced by PVP and is being directed by Sankalp Reddy, the story deals with the sinking of the submarine and it is the first submarine warfare movie in India. After the release of Kanche, war films have piqued our interest and this is surely going to be another feather in the film industry’s cap. While Rana Daggubati plays the protagonist, Rahul Singh is the antagonist. He plays Commanding Officer Razaq Mohammed Khan. He is also playing an interesting role in Puri Jagan’s Rogue.

Rahul did a bit of modelling too, short stories on television and got warmed up before doing cinema. Zubeida got a national award. He says, “I choose roles that you can perform and evolve as an actor. ..it is about what you bring to the table. I watch all kind of cinema, I believe in India the best scripts you get are from Malayalam. I am pretty good with languages and so I am here to meet directors to tell them I am here open for work. I don’t like the word struggle, it is a negative work..I call it quest..no one forced us to be here. When I came back from England, I had to unlearn a few things. I trained here as well. We are more expressive as a nation and as a culture..Americans and Indians are expressive, British and French a bit less, but Germans..not at all..it is said that Germany is a nation without a sense of humour.”

He adds, “Theatre is addictive, some do it the entire life. Every show you perform to a different audience and you use the whole experience of life , become richer as an artiste. As a child it was the screen for me, I was very clear, but I was guided to do theatre to be taught discipline. The child in me is still alive to what I wanted to do from day one.” For Ghazi he spent time with the Indian Navy and earned first hand knowledge of working on sea and underwater and when he came to work on the sets of Ghazi, he was more than prepared to shoot for the film. Ask him if there are graphics in the film he says, “You don’t destroy a submarine just for a film, there will be graphics”….
