Ram Charan still open for doing Bollywood films

1

Ram Charan, who is currently busy shooting his film in the direction of Boyapati Srinu, revealed that he is still open to do bollywood films provided he gets a good script. He revealed his thoughts on doing another bollywood film and entering into hollywood.

Ram Charan entered bollywood through Zanjeer 5 years back but couldn’t get break in bollywood. He responded on Zanjeer saying, “It was an honest attempt that did not work. It did hurt me since it was my first Hindi film and there were expectations. But that does not mean I’ve shut doors to Bollywood. In the future, if something nice comes my way, I will definitely do it.”

His Zanjeer heroine entered Hollywod later. So, when asked about -is there any chance if Ram Charan also do a role in any hollywood film, he responded, “I don’t believe in planning a career path. I’ll grab the good offers that come my way. I make sure whatever project I’m working on, I should give my best. Whether the film works or not is not in my hands”.

Probably, after Rangasthalam success, Ram Charan became more confident now and expressed his willingness to do another bollywood film. But earlier also, he went to bollywood when he was having good success in Tollywood but after disaster of that film,he lost track. Now again he came back to track with Rangasthalam, probably his fans want him not to lose the track again in the name of doing another bollywood movie.

Rakul in an Item Number?

0

Punjabi girl Rakul Preet Singh has been away from Tollywood and has her hands full with Tamil films. She is in plans to make her comeback to Tollywood and she signed a multi-starrer in which Venkatesh and Naga Chaitanya will play the lead roles. If the latest news is to be believed, Rakul Preet Singh is in talks to shake leg with Ram Charan in his upcoming movie which is directed by Boyapati Srinu.

This mass entertainer will have a sizzling item number and Rakul Preet is the front-runner for the song. The shoot of the film is currently going on in Hyderabad and the makers are keen on releasing the film during Sankranthi 2019. Kiara Advani is the female lead and DVV Danayya is the producer. The film has been hot in trade and the theatrical rights of this untitled film have been sold out for a bomb. Devi Sri Prasad is composing the tunes and the background score.

Shrewd business strategy by Danayya puts him in safe zone

0

Producer DVV Danayya has hit a jackpot with his upcoming film which has Ram Charan in lead role and Boyapati Srinu as director. As per the reports, Dannaya closed a marquee deal worth 72 Crores with UV Creations for the theatrical rights of Andhra and Telangana.

It seems Dannaya has smartly devised a skewed business strategy in selling the rights to UV Creations. It is well known that Dannaya’s previous film Bharat Ane managed to break even only outside Andhra and Telangana. So, if he had to sell the theatrical rights of Charan’s film individually in different areas of Telugu states, he might have faced several obligations to give the rights on credit basis to the same distributors who released Bharat Ane Nenu. This is said to be the main reason behind Danayya – UV Creations deal.

Also, Danayya didn’t sell the Karnataka and OS rights of Charan’s film and interestingly those are the two areas where Bharat Ane Nenu made some profits.

Trade analysts opine that Danayya has played it very smart and cleverly pulled off a solid deal with UV Creations as he will recoup majority of his investment with this deal alone and the rest is bonus.

RC – Boyapati film seals for a solid deal

UV Creations bagged Ram Charan Andhra and Nizam rights

After the resounding success of Rangasthalam, which launched Ram Charan into the elite 100 Crore club, trade circles are betting big on his next film which is being directed by Boyapati Srinu. Even before the film’s shoot is half done, the makers of this untitled film have closed a solid deal in Andhra and Nizam areas.

According to the latest trade updates, the AP/TG theatrical rights of this action entertainer have been bagged for 72 Crores by UV Creations, one of the leading production houses in Tollywood which is making inroads into distribution market.

This is a reasonable deal for producer DVV Danayya given that Boyapati Srinu is coming off from a debacle with his last film. It is purely Ram Charan’s stamina that has pulled off this striking deal for Dannaya.

The shooting formalities are progressing at a brisk pace and the film is slated for release in Sankranthi season.

Kiara Advani and Vivek Oberoi are playing prominent roles in the film.

Is “Gang leader” remake possible now?

0

KS Rama Rao of Creative commercials production banner produced several blockbuster movies with Chiranjeevi in 80s and 90s. But later they developed a rift and did not work again. However now during audio function of “ Tej I love you” movie, both of them became closer again and as per reports, KS Rama Rao is planning to do a movie with Ram Charan as hero. it is also learnt that they are planning to remake Chiranjeevi blockbuster movie Gang Leader.

Even though there are several reports that the producer is planning to remake Gang Leader, it is not clear why the name of Gang Leader is doing rounds in film circles. In fact Gang Leader movie doesn’t have any relation with KS Rama Rao. Gang Leader was produced by Maganti Ravindranath and directed by Vijaya bapineedu. There are several movies of Chiranjeevi that were produced by KS Rama Rao and are worth of remaking. – like Challenge, Abhilasha and Rakshasudu. it is really doubtful whether the rumour doing rounds in film circles about Gang Leader remake is true or not. Even if it is true, that movie has to start only after Rajamouli movie which may take couple of years from now to complete.

Another question is, with no novel point, whether Gang Leader will be able to entertain current generation of audience and that too after Rajamouli movie. Anyway we’ll have to wait and see, if there is any truth in this rumour or not.

Rajamouli’s multi-starrer to be shot in Aluminium factory

SS Rajamouli usually prefers Ramoji Film City to shoot his films. Many of his films in the past were majorly shot there. For Baahubali, Rajamouli and his team spent nearly four years in RFC where massive sets were erected . Now, the master storyteller has decided to change the working location for his next film which is going to be a multi-starrer with Charan and NTR in the lead roles.

Ram Charan wants to work with Rajkumar Hirani

0

Ram Charan says he is ready to explore Bollywood and wishes to work with Rajkumar Hirani.

While “Baahubali” fame actor Prabhas and Malayalam movie star Dulquer Salmaan are working in Bollywood films like “Saaho” and “Karwaan” respectively, asked if he has any favourite director in Bollywood, Ram said: “I am a huge fan of Rajkumar Hirani sir and would love to work with him.

“He is one of those filmmakers who is balancing the art and commerce rightly in his films. I so wish to work with him. I have also watched a few films of Vishal Bhardwaj and he makes some amazing pieces of cinema. Working with him would be such a pleasure.”

Ram has already worked in Bollywood as he featured in “Zanjeer” in 2013.

Asked if there’s a criteria he has for a Bollywood project, he said: “Yes, I tried it earlier and it did not do so well. But if I am getting something interesting, why not? I will surely give that a try. But this time, I will be looking at a few factors like the director, story, production… When I am targeting an audience out of my comfort zone, I have to be very careful.”

Since the actor is quite satisfied with his career in the south Indian film industry, according to him, “only a good story is my point of interest to go out of my comfort zone and work in a different language, because honestly, every regional cinema is doing experimental works these days”.

Does he have any favourite Bollywood actress whom he wishes to pair with on-screen?

“Every actress is unique in their own right and choosing one is difficult. Everyone is doing good work. I would be happy sharing screen space with anyone based on the demand of the story,” said Ram, who has already worked with Priyanka Chopra.

Charan takes strict stand to avoid fan wars and controversies

1

Actor Ram Charan has decided to put an end to fan wars over box office collections. He has avowed to request the producers of his films not to promulgate collections hereafter as he feels that they are resulting in needless controversies among fans.

Speaking at an event in Hyderabad, Charan on questioned about his feeling on Rangasthalam collecting 200 Crores replied that box office numbers are creating a unhealthy atmosphere due to misinterpretation by fans. Charan asserted that all heroes are maintaining a very healthy and strong rapport between each other, but that camaraderie is not being displayed between fans.

He also pointed out how fans are reacting over the collections posters put out by producers and said he is against them and said that he is taking a strict stand not to continue the tradition from here onwards. He also confirmed that his home production Konidela Productions will also not reveal the box office numbers any time in future.

Ram Charan condemns casting couch

5

Telugu superstar Ram Charan Tej will never approve of casting couch in the film industry.

Ram, who made his Bollywood debut with Priyanka Chopra-starrer “Zanjeer” in 2013, made the comment on CNN-News18’s talk show “Now Showing” where he shared his opinion on casting couch and the power of social media.

In the wake of #MeToo movement after Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein was exposed for sexual harassment, Telugu actress Sri Reddy took to the streets in protest against casting couch, sparking a war of words with Ram’s uncle and filmmaker-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan.

“I am not talking particularly about her (Sri Reddy). But overall, to hear this word anywhere, in any industry — whether in politics or business industry — doesn’t sound right to anyone. Nobody would encourage it, especially when I have five of my sisters in the same field, I would personally not want to pursue it or witness such a disaster in the industry,” said Ram.

“We have to always evaluate whatever we hear, whether it is from a great guy or a girl who is working hard in this industry. We can’t blindly go without trying to find any sense behind it. So, I guess this particular case has helped us form a committee in our industry to look into such matters,” he added.

Last month, Movie Artists Association (MAA) President Shivaji Raja said a committee comprising senior actors and filmmakers of Telugu film industry would study complaints of sexual harassment.

Ram, a recipient of two Nandi Awards, said the panel was looking into Sri Reddy’s charges.

“Now they are really looking into it to find out how much of this is true and if it is true, then serious action will be taken and that gives us comfort and a sign of security that my sisters too can work in the industry because I am not going to be with them always… They will have to be by themselves. So, there is a committee now and I really want to take this issue to the committee to decide,” said Ram.

Before the committee was formed, Sri Reddy created a sensation by resorting to strip protest against casting couch in Tollywood in front of the office of Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce here on April 7.

The actress had also questioned the Telangana government and MAA on the absence of a Committee Against Sexual Harassment.

MAA had not only dismissed her allegations but also declared that she would not be given its membership under any circumstances. It said that action would be taken against any artiste who would share screen space with her.

Following the Commission’s observation, the MAA President said they had no grudge against Sri Reddy but as her allegations hurt the artistes, it was decided to impose the ban. He said all 900 members of MAA were free to work with her.

Charan – Boyapati film seals a stunning deal

3

Ram Charan unhappy with needless comparisons

0

When two big ticket films release during the same season, there is enough room for fan wars in social media about collections and other box office parameters.

Recently, Ram Charan’s Rangasthalam and Mahesh Babu’s Bharat Ane Nenu have released in the span of three weeks and emerged as super hits. As both films have been carrying huge expectations among trade circles, fans have eagerly waited to see which one will emerge as a winner in Summer.

Meanwhile, Charan expressed displeasure over the comparisons that are being made to decide which is a better film. The Rangasthalam actor has opined it is a such a senseless attempt to compare two successful films which have come at the right time for industry.

Charan negated the divide and rule policy and said film industry works as an united organisation. He also added that both he and Mahesh are good friends and expressed happiness over the success of both films.

Excerpts of Ram Charan’s Interview with Rajeev Masand

4

Mega Powerstar Ram Charan has been riding high with the success of his recent outing Rangasthalam. Senior journalist Rajeev Masand recorded an interview with Ram Charan in which he discussed about the success of Rangasthalam, his future projects, his interaction with his family and how he has been leading a smooth life. Here are the excerpts of his interview in Ram Charan’s words:

I am overwhelmed with the response of Rangasthalam. This brought a fresh energy to do interesting films.

We shot Rangasthalam in the remote villages of Godavari region and this really helped up build our characters in the film. One fine morning I went for a drive with a fisherman and he showed me the way they catch fish and it was a nice experience. Their care for nature has been extremely inspiring.

I felt that Chitti Babu connected to every human being. Since last year, things changed completely. My wife still says that I am changed. I grew as a person every year and am passionate for films. I have my foot on my ground because of my father Megastar Chiranjeevi.

It is because of the discipline of my father, his career lasted this long. We have discussed very little about cinema in the recent years. My father keeps a watch on me poking at 9 PM everyday despite of his busy day about my whereabouts. “Just sleep on time” says my dad.

Like my father who switches off from work after 6 PM, I too behave so and my wife is pretty happy about me spending time with her and she has no complaints.

I don’t even know anything about SS Rajamouli’s film and me, Tarak are expecting a narration by the end of this summer. I am looking forward for the narration and I signed the film because of SS Rajamouli. I can assure you that the film will not be on boxing.

Tarak and me turned thick friends and we have been meeting frequently. My wife hosted a lavish party for the sweet couple on their anniversary. Rajamouli too wanted us to bond together.

Rajamouli already opened the market for Telugu films across International scale and our next film too will release in multiple languages. My next with Rajamouli and Tarak will start anytime after October.

I am disappointed with the result of Zanjeer. I am doing lot of interesting work here and I am not keen on doing Bollywood movies. I want to reach larger audience through my films. I am glad that there are strong content driven films in Telugu cinema currently which is a huge move.

I am not on social media and I am in plans to make my debut soon on instagram. My wife too wants me to start so as to reach my fans and followers.

Be it in politics or business, no one encourages casting couch. I have five sisters at home, I will not support casting couch. Because of Sri Reddy’s case, MAA formed a committee and they are finding out the facts. This will sure bring lot of security in the future for women.

I feel naked after I lost my bearded look of Rangasthalam now. I am back to gym and my director Boyapati Srinu is calling every alternate day about my workouts. No more Hyderabadi biryanis from now for a while. I guess I should follow my uncle Pawan Kalyan who works for one film a year and shoots for six months. The rest of six months he keeps travelling with his family.
