RGV’s full-length revenge drama on Balakrishna

3

Controversial director Ram Gopal Varma has been picking up controversial points and is making them into feature films. He took a dig on Pawan Kalyan through Powerstar which will release soon. The film is a satire on Pawan Kalyan’s personal and political life. Ram Gopal Varma is in plans for a full-length revenge drama on Nandamuri Balakrishna soon. RGV wanted to direct the biopic of NTR but the film landed into the hands of Krish. RGV directed Lakshmi’s NTR which was a satire on NTR’s family.

Without stopping there, RGV is in plans to come with a new film titled ‘Aa Rathri Em Jarigindi’ (What happened that night). The film is said to discuss about the shootout incident that took place in Balakrishna’s residence years ago. Balakrishna walked out free from the incident after Bellamkonda Suresh and Satyanarayana Chowdary suffered bullet injuries. There are a lot of rumors about the incident. RGV is all set to present the incident and will narrate the incidents that took place after the shootout. RGV is expected to use the controversies of Balakrishna to the fullest through the film.

Balakrishna landed into controversies for slapping his fans several times in public places. He even got trolled because of his Sanskrit slokas. Ram Gopal Varma is expected to use all these to the fullest in the film. The film will start rolling soon.

Two young producers trying hard to stall Powerstar Release

2

Ram Gopal Varma is all set to release his next film ‘Powerstar’ which is a satire on Pawan Kalyan. The film is all set to be released on RGV World which is backed by Shreyas ET. Two young producers who worked with Pawan Kalyan and share a close bonding with Pawan Kalyan threatened Ram Gopal Varma and his team about the release of Powerstar. They are said to have threatened the backend team that they would cancel all the future promotional projects coming from their production houses and from the actors of Mega family.

The discussions to stall the release of Powerstar are going on in all the available ways. Ram Gopal Varma is not much bothered about this and is making all the arrangements to release Powerstar on July 24th. Though none from Mega family responded about Powerstar, Mega fans trolled Ram Gopal Varma. RGV is quite confident that Pawan Kalyan fans along with his anti-fans too will give the film a watch for sure. It is heard that the run time of Powerstar is 30 minutes.

RGV comes up with a new plan for Powerstar

1

It has been over a decade since Ram Gopal Varma tasted success. But he never sat idle and kept working on back to back projects. Ram Gopal Varma is the only Indian director who is working during the coronavirus season. He directed a bunch of C grade films and released them on his digital platform RGV World. Not stopping here, RGV managed to collect Rs 200 per view for a film called Naked which lasted for just 22 minutes. Ram Gopal Varma is now coming up with one more sensational decision for his upcoming movie Powerstar.

The released pictures made it clear that the film is a satire on Pawan Kalyan. He is quite confident that Pawan Kalyan’s fans and his anti-fans will watch the film for sure. As per the sources, the runtime of the film is said to be 30 minutes. Ram Gopal Varma is in plans to make money even from the trailer of Powerstar. RGV is in talks to release the trailer on pay per view basis.

Though the exact price for the trailer is yet to be fixed, RGV is working on the plans. He may charge Rs 10 to view the trailer and RGV is in plans to recover the budget of the film through the trailer alone. Usually, filmmakers release trailers to reach a wider section of the audience so that their film becomes a huge hit. But RGV is in plans to mint money with the trailer. Powerstar is aimed for July 24th release.

Mega silence worrying RGV

2

Ram Gopal Varma has been trying hard to stand in the news through controversies rather than picking up the right content for his upcoming movies. The entire Tollywood is aware of the drift of RGV with Pawan Kalyan. RGV’s mud-slinging acts landed the controversial director in trouble and he had to apologize for it. He announced a film titled Powerstar and it is clear that the film is a satire on Pawan Kalyan and other Mega family members.

RGV has been trying hard to bring buzz for the film but Powerstar is struggling because of the poor show of RGV’s recent movies. Mega fans badly trolled RGV across social media because of the released pictures from the film. None from the Mega family responded. RGV wanted to make a big controversy out of the film if someone from the Mega family responds. The controversial director kept waiting for the past week and is left disappointed.

He is struggling to generate the buzz for the movie now. Most of them are not aware but his recent movies Climax and Naked struggled to generate minimum views on his digital platform. Ram Gopal Varma himself is playing Bandla Ganesh’s role in the film and this cameo lasts for two minutes. He is trying his best to make the film stand in news but the Tollywood audience are least bothered about the film now. Powerstar is slated for July 24th release.

Coronavirus scare in RGV’s Team?

0

When the whole country is locked at home due to coronavirus pandemic and are away from work, Ram Gopal Varma is busy with a bunch of projects. RGV and his team completed 3-4 projects and all these films are made on a strict budget with a limited cast. Going with the update, one of the team members of RGV is tested positive with coronavirus. This brought a scare among the entire team and the shoots, other works are kept on hold.

RGV holds a team that is strong on technical aspects and are quite quick in delivering the work. The entire team is now getting tested for coronavirus after one of the team members got infected. All the films that are shot are planned for release on RGV World, a new digital platform owned by RGV. RGV is usually not scared of people, society and God. We have to wait to see if RGV too goes ahead and tests for the coronavirus or prefers to sit idle till his team returns back to work.

No need to talk to Amrutha: RGV on ‘Murder’

1

The controversy surrounding the upcoming movie ‘Murder’ thickened with Ram Gopal Varma, RGV as he is popularly known, claiming that there was no need to take anyone’s permission to make films.

Talking to a TV channel, RGV said the movie ‘Murder’ was based on real life incident. Since there was ample coverage in the media, both print and electronic, he said the coverage was enough for him to make a movie. “I did not talk to Amrutha. However, my research on Murder comes from the news coverage about the incident in newspapers and TV channels. For me, the extensive coverage in the media is enough to make this movie,” he told a TV channel.

RGV said ‘Murder’ is based on the honour killing that took place in Telangana’s Miryalguda town in the year 2018. He said ‘Murder’ is based on the sensational murder of Pranay, and that he did not talk to Amrutha about his project. It may be noted that Amrutha and Pranay, who were in love since their school days, were married in January this year against the wishes of her father Maruthi Rao, a businessman who comes from an upper caste.

Pranay Kumar, 23, was hacked to death as he stepped out of a hospital in Miryalaguda in Nalgonda district along with his wife Amrutha Varshini. Maruthi Rao hatched the plot to eliminate Pranay with the help of Asgar Ali, Bari and Abdul Karim. At the time of Pranay’s murder, his wife Amrutha was pregnant.

Earlier, RGV tweeted about ‘Murder’, “This is going to be a heart wrenching story based on the Amrutha and Maruthi Rao saga of the DANGERS of a father LOVING a daughter too much…launching the poster of a SAD FATHER’s film on HAPPY FATHERS’ DAY #MURDERlove,” tweeted RGV as Ram Gopal Varma is popularly known.

“The non chemistrial chemistry between the Reel life and Real life Amrutha,Maruthi Rao MURDER saga aptly comes out in this picture where his obsessive possessiveness and her arrogant defiance both come out of OVERDRAWN LOVE #MURDERlove,” he stated in another tweet.

RGV’s sensational comments on RRR

1

Ram Gopal Varma knows how to publicize his product better than any filmmaker. He loves to take a dig on the entire film industry and is known for his controversial comments and unusual tweets. He directed an adult film ‘Climax’ which is aimed at OTT release this night. RGV started promoting the film, RGV took a dig on Tollywood celebrities. He said there is no unity in the industry and celebrities saying that are united is the biggest lie.

Speaking about RRR, he said that there are a lot of people who would celebrate if the film ends up as a flop. Professional jealousy is what every celebrity has in their blood said RGV. ‘Everyone is eager to wait for a flop and most of them are jealous of other’s success in the industry. There are a lot of people who are eager to celebrate the failure of RRR’ said RGV.

Godse’s motivation to kill Gandhi was 100 per cent patriotism: RGV

0

Days after Nagababu’s tweet praising Nathuram Godse which had landed him in trouble, controversy’s favourite child Ram Gopal Varma opened the Pandora’s box agreeing with the views of Chiranjeevi’s brother. Reacting to Nagababu’s tweet on Godse, “I partly agree with him that Godse’s motivation of killing Gandhi was patriotism. I disagree with the murder of Mahatma Gandhi, but the act was done with Godse’s view of patriotism. My opinion on Gandhi is extraordinary, he was a great man who used an unusual, unheard and remarkable weapon called non-violence. I admire Gandhi a lot as it is not easy to influence millions of people. That said, I strongly believe that Godse’s motivation to kill Gandhi was 100 per cent patriotism. I read a book on Gandhi’s grandson who was fascinated on why Godse has killed his grandfather. I also read Larry Collins and Dominique Lapierre’s Freedom At Midnight and followed Godse’s confession in the court. My film The Man Who Killed Gandhi will be from Godse’s perspective. Gandhi will appear in the last scene,” RGV said in an interview.

Recently, Nagababu stirred up a Hornet’s nest by praising Nathuram Godse. A Congress leader has lodged a police complaint against Nagababu for praising Godse in Twitter.

RGV, who is currently busy in making a movie on corona virus, believes cinema is going to be transformed in the aftermath of the pandemic with the digital space opening up in a big way. “My film on corona virus is the first film on the pandemic globally and it is meant for OTT. Filmmakers should look at over-the-top (OTT) platforms to release their movies. Content is going to overshadow the box office. Theatres are not a part of the film industry. They are like shops selling a manufactured product. OTT will be a 100% boost for big ticket films, dialogue drama and action oriented movies. I have not seen a movie in a theatre for the last 10 years because of several distractions. I don’t like to see a film when people are around. Even if theatres were to open, it is ludicrous to watch movies wearing face masks. I fail to understand how the six feet physical distance will be maintained between viewer to viewer. The distance between seat from seat in theatres or multiplexes could be hardly seven inches. How can the theatre owners ensure six feet distance is followed? Further, to realign or reevaluate theatres is not only an unprofitable and unviable proposition but also time consuming,” he said.

On sensuality in his movies, RGV said he differs with Raghavendra Rao’s idea. “Raghavendra Rao likes (boddu) navel, I like thodalu (thighs). Raghavendra Rao’s favourite spot in a heroine is the navel (boddu) where he drops grapes, oranges and every other type of fruit, while mine is thighs,” he said in a lighter vein.

On the recent controversy of Balakrishna not invited to the two meetings held by the film industry with Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and Cinematography minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, RGV made no bones about serious differences in the film industry. “Industry is not kalamathalli, it is a business organisation. There is no kala nor is there any thalli. This whole talk about kalamatali is all trash. What is kalamathalli? We are doing business. The industry is extremely competitive which thrives on jealously. I don’t believe in this talk of kalamathalli. When someone sells idli will you say idli thalli or the hotel that sells the idli as hotel amma thalli? I disagree that the industry is united and disagree to the claim that it is one family. Everyone is in the business of making money. The industry is producers, actors and directors and they are divided. When a movie gets a bad review, industry enjoys it. They derive vicarious pleasure when someone gets a bad review for their film. It is human nature that we derive vicarious pleasure from someone’s failure. They think someone’s failure is their own success. I don’t beleive in film industry meetings. People have tea, coffee, gossip. Nothing happens there.”

One more jolt for Ram Gopal Varma

0

Controversial director Ram Gopal Varma has been facing a lot of hurdles for his recent projects. His next outing Kamma Rajyamlo Kadapa Biddalu faced censor hurdles. RGV had to obey the rules and updated the title as Amma Rajyamlo Kadapa Biddalu. The film finally crossed all the barriers and Ram Gopal Varma announced that the film will hit the screens on December 12th. The latest shock is that the makers are yet to receive the censor certificate from the censor board and the film may not release tomorrow.

RGV and his team are trying hard to get the censor certificate. We have to wait to see if Amma Rajyamlo Kadapa Biddalu hits the screens tomorrow or if the makers announces a new release date after they receive the censor certificate.

Many sequences to be cut from RGV’s KRKR

0

Ram Gopal Varma’s controversial film ‘Kamma Rajyamlo Kadapa Reddlu’ is stuck at the censor board. The film has been referred to the revising committee. But sources say even the committee might order many scenes to be deleted. Because the film has many references to caste, which even the court doesn’t allow. Any scenes that flame unrest in the society or talk lowly about any caste will not be entertained.

The board members had suggested 50 cuts in the film but RGV refused to accept them. Now, the revising committee will watch it but the movie may not pass without cuts here as well. A crucial scene in the first half will have to be chopped off entirely to get the clearance, a source adds.

The board is not encouraging Ram Gopal Varma’s overtures these days. His gimmicks are showing a boomerang effect.

High Court’s red signal to Kamma Rajyamlo Kadapa Reddlu

0

In a shocking twist, Censor Board sought more than a week’s time to give the censor clearance to Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Kamma Rajyamlo Kadapa Reddlu’ forcing the makers to postpone the movie. The film was scheduled for release on November 29.

The film has now been postponed.

On Thursday, Telangana High Court took up the hearing on the case filed against the movie. CBFC officials have informed the High Court that the film was not censored yet. From title to the scenes, many scenes will undergo the scissors of Board now. RGV and his producers requested the court to pass the orders to the board to give clearance in a day but the judge has asked CBFC to clear the movie in a week.

RGV’s cheap publicity gimmicks have not worked this time.

Varma sensational comments on Naidu

0

Complicated director Ram Gopal Varma won’t miss a chance to take pleasure out of problems of his opponents. He says that history keeps on repeating itself as is now evident from the crisis in the TDP. Nadendla Bhaskar Rao backstabbed NTR when the TDP founder was abroad. Just like that, the TDP MPs now backstabbed Chandrababu Naidu who is currently on a foreign tour along with family members.

Varma has become more bitter after the failure of his much-delayed ‘Lakshmi’s NTR’film release in AP. He is unhappy that Naidu is the reason for the disaster of the politically controversial film. He is not hesitating to make even personal comments.

Varma said in another tweet that Naidu has become a comedian like Brahmanandam in the Assembly. This is why CM Jaganmohan Reddy keeps on laughing when Naidu speaks in the House.

No traces for Lakshmi’s NTR in AP

0

Maverick Ram Gopal Varma who is out of track has been struggling to release Lakshmi’s NTR in Andhra Pradesh. After YS Jagan’s thundering victory in the recent polls, RGV left him in heaps of praises though he predicted that Pawan Kalyan would turn the next CM of the state. He also took a dig on TDP Supremo Nara Chandra Babu Naidu through his murky twitter posts. Finally, Lakshmi’s NTR released on Friday across Andhra Pradesh in decent number of screens.

It may not be a surprise but Lakshmi’s NTR failed to register even minimum box-office numbers. RGV used YS Jagan to the fullest and his pictures made presence on the publicity material across the towns. But those too could not bring audience to the theatres across Andhra Pradesh. RGV’s poor publicity stunts went into vain. Lakshmi’s NTR will end up as one more disaster for RGV and will struggle to complete a week’s run in the state. Suriya’s NGK and Falaknuma Das registered some decent numbers at the Tollywood box-office which released this Friday despite of getting poor response..

Using NTR’s photo is betrayal: Ram Gopal Varma

0

Complicated director Ram Gopal Varma made a sensational visit to Vijayawada ahead of the May 31 release of his film ‘Lakshmi’s NTR’. He has been targetting former chief minister Chandrababu Naidu for obstructing the film’s release during the election process. Now, he says the present film is the story of a person who has worked with and betrayed NTR during his last years.

Varma commented that NTR faced a lot of problems and humiliation towards the end of his life because of conspiracy and double dealing. The film is aimed at bringing out these facts. At the same time, he expressed his opinion that it would be totally unwanted to cause such problems to NTR who lived a life of greatness till then and it’s undoubtedly a betrayal to use NTR’s photo to get political advantage.

What issues will ‘Lakshmi’s NTR’ cause, asks RGV

0

Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma on Wednesday questioned the grounds on which his film “Lakshmi’s NTR” was stopped from releasing in Andhra Pradesh despite being given a nod by the High Court here.

Having released in Telangana and other states last month, Varma had made plans to release the film in Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday.

“‘Lakshmi’s NTR’ has been taken out of all theatres in Andhra Pradesh with officials claiming it might cause law and order problems. In spite of censor certificate given and High Court clearing it, what law and order problems can be there is what I want to ask the forces behind,” Varma tweeted.

On Tuesday, the Election Commission refused to grant permission for releasing the movie in Andhra Pradesh after some Telugu Desam Party (TDP) functionaries alleged that the film depicted Chief Minister and TDP President N. Chandrababu Naidu in a negative manner and this could impact the party’s poll prospects.

Elections to the 175-member Assembly and 25 Lok Sabha seats in the state were held on April 11.

On Sunday, Varma was denied entry into Vijayawada to promote “Lakshmi’s NTR”.

He said he was detained by the city police at Vijayawada airport and sent back to Hyderabad without assigning any reason.

In a video he later shared on his Twitter page, Varma explained that he had been barred entry into Vijayawada where he was supposed to be part of a press meet.

“Lakshmi’s NTR” is about the events that happened in NTR’s life after the entry of Lakshmi Parvathy in his life.

The film tracks the events that led to NTR’s ‘dethroning’ in August 1995 by his son-in-law Chandrababu Naidu.

In the film, P. Vijay Kumar plays the veteran actor-politician while popular Yagna Shetty plays Lakshmi Parvathy, and it has been jointly directed by Varma and Agasthya Manju.

I got 100 times more publicity, says Ram Gopal Varma

0

Complicated director Ram Gopal Varma is hurt at the manner in which he was prevented from holding a press conference in Vijayawada on Sunday. His main complaint was why he was not allowed to stay in Vijayawada. He told the police about his readiness not to hold a press conference but still, large numbers of police forcibly took him to the airport and stayed there till he took a flight for Hyderabad around 8 pm. Was this necessary and was it not to benefit a particular person in power there? he asked.

At the same time, Varma says he is very much delighted at the enormous publicity that the Vijayawada incident created for his film ‘Lakshmi’s NTR’. He said that in fact, he got 100 times more publicity compared to his canceled press conference. One thing stressed by Varma is that he is not part of any political party. But there are allegations that he made the film only to show CM Chandrababu Naidu in a bad light.

Analysts say Varma is doing a big publicity stunt in his inimitable style ahead of the film’s release in AP on May 1.
