NTR and Ram Charan are the lead actors in RRR, a big-budget periodic film that is directed by SS Rajamouli. The film is carrying terrific expectations and got delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic. The makers lost close to Rs 60 crores from their profits because of the heaping up interests. NTR and Charan transformed themselves for their roles and they had to spend close to three years for the film. NTR and Charan are reportedly paid Rs 45 crores each for the film. Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn who played an extended cameo pocketed Rs 25 crores for RRR.

Bollywood beauty Alia Bhatt was paired up beside Ram Charan and she has taken Rs 9 crores as remuneration for the movie. SS Rajamouli holds a lion’s share in the profits of the project and the film’s producer DVV Danayya shares the rest. As per the reports, the makers already made a decent profit of Rs 300 crores before the release. RRR has to do exceptional theatrical business to recover the investments and the final profits may change as per the theatrical performance of the film. The duo, who enjoy an unending following among Telugu folks, are spotted chilling, during the intermissions of ‘RRR’ shooting, they relax in the shade of a tree on the grass.

Ram Charan and Jr NTR, who seem to be all ready for their next shot on the shooting site, are fully dressed, with makeup on. In between the shots, the Telugu stars are spotted lying down on the grass, scrolling their smartphones.

The makers of ‘RRR’ unveiled this picture from their BTS collection and captioned it with a witty quote.

“Scrolling when the camera isn’t rolling,” the caption reads.

After getting postponed multiple times, the makers have finally fixed the release date for S.S. Rajamouli’s directorial.

It is officially the release month for the magnum opus, and hence the makers have braced up the promotional activities.

Veteran producer DVV Danayya bankrolled SS Rajamouli’s next magnum opus RRR and the film featuring NTR, Ram Charan is hitting the screens on March 25th. Danayya is all set to bankroll some of the biggest projects of Tollywood in the next two years. He signed Megastar Chiranjeevi for a mass entertainer and the announcement came out recently. Venky Kudumula will direct the film and the project will have its official launch this month. Danayya also roped in Pawan Kalyan for the remake of Theri. Sujeeth will direct the movie and an official announcement will be made soon.

Danayya paid a hefty advance for Ram Charan long ago and the project will start after Charan will be done with his current projects. KGF sensation Prashanth Neel will direct this high voltage action entertainer. Danayya is also the producer of Prabhas’ next film that will be directed by Maruthi. The project will be announced soon and the shoot commences in May. Danayya also signed a new project that will feature Naga Chaitanya in the lead role. Tamil director Venkat Prabhu will direct the project.

Apart from these, Danayya also paid advances for Mahesh Babu, NTR, Allu Arjun and Dhanush. These projects will happen at a later date. For now, Danayya is lined up with 5 prestigious projects.

‘RRR’ makers all set for second phase of promotions

The second phase of promotions for S.S. Rajamouli’s much-awaited magnum opus ‘RRR’ will kick off soon.

As per reports, the producers of ‘RRR’ have made plans to resume the promotions, as the release date of the Ram Charan and Jr NTR-starrer is approaching on March 25.

Apparently, Rajamouli and his team, along with actors Ram Charan, Jr NTR, and Alia Bhatt will start promoting the movie from March 1. A big event is being planned in Dubai for the same.

Apart from the events, the team will be interacting with the media and the public during their visits to important cities.

Ram Charan, Jr NTR, Alia Bhatt, and Rajamouli had earlier promoted the film big time in December 2021 and January hoping that the film would release on January 7, as planned.

As a result of the third wave of Covid along with the shutting down of theatres in states such as Maharashtra and Delhi, along with night curfews, and other adversaries, the film was postponed.

Now that ‘RRR’ will hit the screens on March 25, the team will promote the movie yet again.

Big B, Akshay, Prabhas, Jr NTR to dominate March with big releases

The month of March looks promising as some of India’s biggest stars such as Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Prabhas, Jr NTR and Ram Charan are all set to light up the big screen after gloomy months due to the surge of Covid cases in the country.

The first movie to release in March is Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan’s film ‘Jhund’. The film is scheduled to hit the screens on March 4. ‘Jhund’ is a sports film based on the life of Vijay Barse, the founder of NGO ‘Slum Soccer’. It also features Akash Thosar and Rinku Rajguru.

In the Nagraj Popatrao Manjule directorial, Bachchan will be seen playing a professor who motivates the street children to form a football team.

Next to set the screens on fire is actor Suriya’s action entertainer ‘Etharkkum Thunindhavan’, which will release on March 10. The movie was earlier set for release on February 4. However, the makers chose to postpone its release after lockdown restrictions were imposed by the Tamil Nadu government to contain the spread of the third wave of the pandemic.

Then there is ‘Radhe Shyam’, where South sensation Prabhas plays a palmist, while actress Pooja Hegde will be seen as his love interest. The intense love story will light up the screens on March 11.

Alongside ‘Radhe Shyam’, filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri’s directorial ‘The Kashmir Files’ will be seeing the light of day in the theatres. Postponed due to a significant spike in Covid cases in the country, ‘The Kashmir Files’ is based on the lives of Kashmiri Pandits. It boasts of an ensemble cast including names such as Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar and Pallavi Joshi among many others.

Next up is Bollywood’s ‘Khiladi’ star Akshay Kumar’s film ‘Bachchhan Paandey’.

‘Bachchhan Paandey’ has been blocked for a Holi weekend release and is scheduled to hit the big screen on March 18. The film, which also stars Kriti Sanon, Jacqueline Fernandez, Arshad Warsi, Pankaj Tripathi, Prateik Babbar and Abhimanyu Singh. The film is a remake of the 2014 Tamil film ‘Jigarthanda’.

In the wake of rumours that the government of Andhra Pradesh is considering allowing flexible cinema ticket pricing, many Telugu biggies are preparing for release.

So, the whole industry is looking forward to the new Government Order on movie ticket prices, so as to announce the release dates of most of the movies. As the ticket pricing issues had made the movie business go haywire, the new order is expected to resolve the problems to some extent.

Big-ticket movies like ‘RRR’, ‘Sarkaru Vaari Paata’ and ‘Radhe Shyam’ have their release dates fixed, while the makers of the respective movies are hopeful about a positive footstep by the Jagan government, for them to withstand the ongoing crisis in the movie industry.

On the other hand, the makers of some biggies have announced dual dates for the release of their movies, in a hope that they could fix any of the two given dates after the new ticket prices come into existence in Andhra Pradesh.

Pawan Kalyan and Rana’s ‘Bheemla Nayak’ will be released on either February 25 or April 1, while Ravi Teja’s ‘Ramarao On Duty’ is slated for its release on March 25 or April 15. Varun Tej’s ‘Ghani’ also has two probable release dates February 25 or March 4.

Now, that the AP government is to come up with a positive amendment, it is expected that most of the movies will be released in the summer, which will have a huge impact on the industry’s revenue as a whole.

Why is RRR biding his time in Delhi?

It now appears almost certain that renegade YSRCP MP from Narsapur Kanumuri Raghuramakrishnam Raju is not going to resign from his MP’s post. Raju, who had pompously announced that he would announce the date of his resignation on February 5, has now backtracked from his word. He now says that he had never said that he would resign from his Lok Sabha seat.

He now says that he would resign if YS Jagan asks him. This clearly shows that RRR never had any intention of resigning and contesting elections again from Narsapur. Interestingly, it was RRR who set this deadline of February 5. Later, he modified his statement and said he would resign on May 11. Later, he clarified that he would announce the date of resignation on February 5.

Sources say that RRR is unsure that he would win from Narsapur if there is a bypoll. Hence, he is dilly dallying on the issue of resignation. In fact, YSRCP never asked for his resignation. It only sought RRR’s disqualification from the Lok Sabha. It was RRR himself who offered to resign and now he has backtracked on it too.

For the last two years, RRR has not visited his constituency of Narsapur. He has been staying in Delhi as he is cagey that he could be arrested if he came to AP. Recently, he came to Hyderabad and the AP police promptly knocked on his doors. Within no time, RRR made an air-dash to Delhi and has not returned since. Fear of arrest and electoral loss may have made him stay in the safe haven of Delhi.

After completing a fantastic shot with Charan, I get tears after watching the shot on the monitor. When he is coming, I go up and hug him. When I say, it is fantastic, he asks me if I liked the shot? That is the kind of person Charan is. When it comes to Tarak, he does a fantastic job. Before I say that the shot is fantastic, Tarak himself appreciates the shot. That is the confidence of Tarak. I have two fantastic actors and I had a chance to work with them together. I made them work hard to get the desired output” told Rajamouli.

“For the introduction sequence of Tarak, we took him to the jungles of Bulgaria and he ran in the jungle without any footwear and he ran like a tiger. For Charan’s introduction sequence, there were 2000 people and he was pushed into the middle of the crowd. He went into the dust, sweat. It is one of the best sequences in my career. The interval episode was shot for 65 days with 1200 people in December. We are not sure about the efforts we kept for the climax” concluded Rajamouli.

The makers of Pawan Kalyan’s Bheemla Nayak are keen to release the film on February 25th but the film may be pushed for summer release. Movies like Major, Khiladi and others are not pushed from February race and the final call would be taken soon. Films like F3, Sarkaru Vaari Paata, Thank You, Ghani and others are aiming summer release for now. Tollywood is confident in getting back to the track with a bunch of releases during summer 2022.

Bollywood top actor Ajay Devgn will be seen in a powerful but cameo role in RRR, the country’s biggest motion picture that is slated for release soon. Bollywood beauty Alia Bhatt will be seen paired up beside Ram Charan and she essays the role of Sita in this periodic drama that is set before independence. Alia Bhatt has been paid Rs 9 crores as remuneration for her role in RRR. Alia Bhatt has 20 minutes screen presence in RRR.

Ajay Devgn shot for 7 days for RRR and he pocketed Rs 35 crores for his role. SS Rajamouli was never bothered about their remunerations and the makers agreed to pay them hefty paycheques without any negotiations. RRR may hit the screens after the third wave of coronavirus will calm down. NTR, Ram Charan, Alia Bhatt, Olivia Morris, Ajay Devgn and Shriya Saran played the lead roles in RRR.
