Rajamouli scouts locations for RRR

SS Rajamouli recently took a short break and flew to Europe to finalize the locations for RRR. A lavish song on NTR, Ram Charan will be shot in multiple locations. Some of them will be shot in a special set erected in Hyderabad. For some of the portions, the team of RRR will fly to Europe. Rajamouli recently locked the locations and the schedule is planned. The movie unit is expected to fly to Europe in the third week of this month for the shoot. All the visas are acquired recently.

Before that Rajamouli will complete a song on Ram Charan and Alia Bhatt. The song will be a romantic number and will be shot in a lavish set. Rajamouli and his team are keen to complete the entire shoot before the mid of August. The post-production work of RRR is in full swing and the film is announced for October 13th release in all the Indian languages. NTR, Ram Charan, Alia Bhatt and Olivia Morris are the lead actors in this big-budget periodic drama.

He said that all the passengers are asked to take up RT-PCR tests but there were no basic facilities provided. He said that he was surprised to find so many stray dogs near the exit gate and Rajamouli said that this won’t be a great impression for foreigners who visit India.

“Dear @DelhiAirport, arrived at 1 AM by Lufthansa flight. Forms were given to fill for the RT PCR test. All the passengers are sitting on the floors or propping against the walls to fill the forms. Not a pretty sight. Providing tables is a simple service. And surprised to find so many stray dogs in the hangar outside the exit gate. Again not a great first impression of India for the foreigners. Please look into it. Thank you” posted Rajamouli on his official social media page.

RRR happens to be one of the costliest films made in Indian cinema. Bahubali famed filmmaker SS Rajamouli feels having a happy and cordial atmosphere on set is crucial, and says one cannot have ill-tempered people and still make a good film.

“When we are making a film it is very very important to have a happy, courteous, cordial relation on the set. You cannot have ill -tempered people around you and still make a good movie, it cannot happen,” Rajamouli said.

“So, sometimes we have to let go of certain things to have that nice atmosphere on set, that is the most important thing for getting a good product out,” he added.

Opening up about the casting process, he shared: “When you start working with people, continuously with each other, so you get to know each other better, you become friends and when you’re writing your next scripts automatically, the actors keep coming into your mind.”

“It’s almost a subconscious decision, the script almost takes the path of the actors that you know who fix into that role,” shared the director, in an episode of Lakshmi Manchu’s show “Coming Back To Life With Lakshmi Manchu”, which is available on SouthBay channel.

Rajamouli and Arka Media to start Baahubali web series from scratch

After the super success of Baahubali, the makers continued the franchise with books, animation series and merchandise. Arka Media Works, the producers of Baahubali inked a deal with digital giant Netflix to co-produce a web series ‘Baahubali: Before the Beginning’. SS Rajamouli even directed the first episode as per the agreement and Deva Katta, Praveen Sattaru handled the other episodes. But in a sudden shock, the project was kept on hold by Netflix after they were unhappy with the output. There was no news about the project in the recent months.

Shobu Yarlagadda, the CEO of Arka Media Works revealed that the project is back to start from the scratch. They are working on the opportunities and Rajamouli is participating in the meetings and the discussions are currently going on about how the project can be made. Netflix is on board and Arka Media Works is all set to restart the project soon. Shobu said that they are currently producing various tv serials in Telugu and Kannada. Some other films are currently in discussion stages and some big announcements are expected soon.

The ‘adivasis’ (tribals) of Adilabad are up in arms against director Rajamouli for showing their hero Komaram Bheem in a poor light.

The tribals warned that they will file a case against Rajamouli under SC/ST Atrocities Act if certain scenes from RRR are not immediately removed.

In the promotional teaser scenes, Junior NTR who essayed the role of Komaram Bheem, is shown wearing the Muslim skullcap and white kurta and pyjama.

The tribals were aghast as to how Rajamouli can show a tribal freedom fighter as a Muslim.

The tribals said the portrayal of Komram Bheem wearing the Muslim skullcap was an insult to the Gond hero who led an uprising against the last Nizam of Hyderabad in the 1940s.

“Komaram Bheem fought against the Nizam and his Razakar army. He took up arms against Nizam soldiers until his last breath. Why has Rajamouli shown Komaram Bheem wearing a Muslim skull cap? This has hurt the sentiments of thousands of adivasis. Such blatant falsehood in the name of history. If he wants to make a movie, let him show the belly buttons of women. Why insult our God. If Rajamouli fails to remove such portrayal of Komaram Bheem, we will dig his grave,” the adivasis warned.

The tribals said Komaram Bheem was a Gond hero who fought against the Nizam feudal landlords for usurping their lands.”For us, Komaram Bheem is our deity. We even pray to him and observe Aswayuja Powrnami to commemorate his life. Portraying Komaram Bheem as a Muslim is an affront to his family and the entire Gond tribe. Rajamouli, you remove the scene, or you will face our wrath,” the tribals warned.

“Rajamouli spreading falsehood. He has not visited any of the villages in Adilabad, did not speak to the adivasis before making the movie,” another tribal youth fumed at the Bahubaali fame director.

Asifabad was renamed as Komaram Bheem district after the legendary Gond martyr who was born in Ravte Sankepalli village near Asifabad.

Rajamouli, Keeravani hail plasma donors

After megastar Chiranjeevi, Baahubali fame director Rajamouli on Tuesday underscored the importance of plasma donation and appealed to the people to come forward to donate plasma.

Taking part in a programme felicitated plasma donors at Cyberabad police commissionerate organized by Cyberabad police commissioner, Rajamouli said, “the objective of the campaign is to encourage people to come forward to donate plasma to be used for the treatment of Covid_19. Plasma is the only solution till the vaccine is made available.”

Rajamouli and his family members were tested positive for coronavirus and were in home isolstion.

Rajamouli hailed the plasma donors as role models and appreciated them for their act of humanity and showing kindness, against the stigma and all the myths surrounding covid 19 and donating plasma.

“The antibodies of recovered patients could help fight infection in those still suffering from it and the only source of these antibodies is the blood plasma of coronavirus survivors,” he stated

As part of the programme, Keeravani’s song on plasma donation was released.. Speaking on the occasion, Keeravani termed plasma donation as a ‘Sanjeevani’ in the pandemic and urged people to know the importance of plasma donation and they should come forward to donate.

Cyberabad commissioner VC Sajjanar said, it is a proud moment to felicitate the ‘Plasma Yodhas (donors) who saved the lives of patients and also thanked their family members for support and encouragement. “I request more recovered persons to come forward to donate their plasma,” Sajjanar said.

Rajamouli tested positive for Covid-19

Covid-19 has finally entered the Telugu film industry. Baahubali fame Rajamouli has been tested positive for the infection on Wednesday. The director’s family members were also tested positive for the infection. This was confirmed by Rajamouli himself.

Taking to his Twitter handle, Rajamouli wrote, ” My family members and I developed a slight fever a few days ago. It subsided by itself but we got tested nevertheless. The result has shown a mild COVID positive today. We have a home quarantined as prescribed by the doctors.” Further, he stated that his family members and himself will donate plasma after their recovery from the infection. “Just waiting to develop antibodies so that we can donate our plasma…,” he added.

Rajamouli is the most illustrious and high-profile director to have been tested positive for the virus. His ‘Roudram Ranam Rudhiram (RRR)’ starring Ram Charan, Junior NTR, Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt is slated to be released in January, 2021. Written and directed by Rajamouli, RRR is a period film. The movie is a story of the freedom struggle of Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem against British rule. He had recently resumed shooting of RRR with a limited crew. RRR was slated to be released on January 8, 2021. The film stars Ram Charan, Junior NTR, Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt and Olivia Morris among others.

Rajamouli had recently met Telangana and AP chief ministers K Chandrasekhar Rao and Jagan Mohan Reddy respectively to appeal for permissions to resume film shootings and reopening of cinema halls. The team was led by Chiranjeevi and included among others Nagarjuna, D Suresh Babu, Allu Aravind, Trivikram Srinivas, Koratala Shiva, N Shankar, Dil Raju, Gemini Kiran, Radhakrishna, C Kalyan.
