Megastar Chiranjeevi’s SyeRaa is gearing up for a gigantic release on October 2nd. Made with a staggering budget of over 300 Crores, the magnum opus period film is said to have a heavy dose of VFX shots which will offer a terrific experience for audience on the big screen. .

Director Surender Reddy has shared a photo in his social media page after the completion of DTS mixing in all five languages. In the background of this photo, we can see a breathtaking frame from what seems to be the interval shot of the film. Chiranjeevi is seen sitting on the top of a huge rock in Yoga posture. Blazing words ‘The War Begins Now’ on the screen indicate that this particular scene will conclude the first half of the film.

The spectacular trailers have revealed that cinematography and other technical values will be top notch in the film. Many Hollywood technicians have worked for this film and the war episodes are likely to be the biggest asset. The makers have spent a solid budget on these episodes and they are shot on a grand scale which will leave audience in awe.

Actor and Chiranjeevi’s son Ram Charan has produced the film on his home banner.

It became a norm for filmmakers to surprise the audiences in theatres by not revealing about certain songs. However, Megastar Chiranjeevi is not going to give any such surprises to his fans on October 2nd as ‘Sye Raa’ heads for a release.

Even in a serious social message oriented film like Tagore, Chiranjeevi is the one who has taken the task of dancing to the core for his hardcore fans. But when it comes to Sye Raa, he’s not even remotely entertaining the dance-pleas of his fans as he feels that the original thought and ideology behind making this freedom bound film will be lost.

There are two songs in the film, one that highlights the greatness of Uyyalwada and another one that is more like a war-cry. There are four more songs in the album of the film which might come as background songs in the movie but won’t have any dance and charm to them. Even Tamanna’s introduction episodes won’t like an item song as Chiru got them toned to match the seriousness of the film.

Maybe this is the first film in decades that won’t have Chiranjeevi introducing some new dance moves and enthralling his fans like never before.

High Court refuses to stay ‘Sye Raa’ release

In a tight slap to some of the descendants of Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy, the Telangana High Court has other day refused to stay the release of the film as demanded by the descendants in a petition.

As the petitioners headed by Doravari Dastagiri Reddy mentioned that they have a signed agreement from makers of the movie to give them money, Court ordered them to approach a Civil Court to enforce the agreement and opined that there is no need to stall the release of the flick for the same. Court clearly mentioned that civil disputes should be settled and can be settled even after a release of the film, but there is no need to intervene with the release.

Another demand of this section of Uyyalwada descendants is that they should be screened Sye Raa before its release to see if there are any discrepancies in the narrative. High Court refuted their claim saying that all such petitions will be entertained only after the film’s release as there is no provision in the law that says family members (or heirs) should be screened a biopic before its release.

With the counsel of Sye Raa claiming that the film is not a biopic in total but has lots of fictionalised content based on the information available in public domain, Uyyalwada descendants cannot be legally demanding for the preview of the film before its release.

The pre release event of Chiranjeevi’s SyeRaa Narasimha Reddy took place in a grand style this Sunday in Hyderabad. Pawan Kalyan, SS Rajamouli, VV Vinayak and Allu Aravind graced the event as chief guests.

Speaking at the event, Chiranjeevi said September 22nd is a memorable day because his debut film Pranam Kareedu released on the same day in 1978. Megastar went on to reveal that he is under the same pressure and anxiety for SyeRaa like he was for his debut film. SyeRaa is a dream project which in my mind for more than 12 years, said Chiru. He also explained the profound research put in by SyeRaa team to bring the cinema on unsung and first freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy. Chiru said that they were initially hesitant about the hefty budget that is needed to make the film on Uyyalawada. ‘It was SS Rajamouli and his film Baahubali which inspired us to make a grandeur like SyeRaa’, revealed Chiru. He said SyeRaa wouldn’t have happened if there is no Baahubali. He praised Rajamouli’s efforts and conviction in proving that Telugu cinema has market beyond our two states. Chiranjeevi appreciated director Surender Reddy for his hard work and dedication in handling such a grand pan-India film involving hundreds of the technicians and staff. He also praised producer Ram Charan for not compromising on budget at any point and said that each and every frame has shaped up very well. He thanked all technicians and supporting cast and crew for being a part of the film. Chiranjeevi said the untold story of Uyyalawada will connect with all sections of audience and it has a strong social message to youth of the country.

Earlier in the event, Pawan Kalyan heaped praises on Megastar Chiranjeevi for having a strong impact on his personal life and career. He praised Ram Charan for producing a memorable film in Chiranjeevi’s career. He also added that SyeRaa is historical film that will define the greatness of our country. SS Rajamouli congratulated writers duo Paruchuri brothers for bringing the unknown details of great fighter Uyyalawada. He said SyeRaa is not just a gift to Chiranjeevi but it is a memorable gift to Telugu audience. He appreciated Ram Charan and Surender Reddy for their efforts.

Director Surender Reddy said the team worked for close to 250 days to bring this magnum opus to audience. He thanked Ram Charan for giving the opportunity to direct Chiranjeevi’s dream project.

“Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy”, mega star Chiranjeevi’s magnum opus, is all set to release on 2nd October on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanthi. As Dasara holidays also starting from the same date, the movie is expected to collect huge, if it gets positive talk on first day. Pre-release event of the movie is scheduled this evening. Surprisingly, the telecast rights of this event is given to Sakshi Channel and that puzzled mega-fans.

Sakshi boycotted Pawan’s cinema news as well :

Ever since Pawan floated Janasena, Sakshi has been writing negative news on Pawan. But that is understandable as Jagan, the owner of this media house, is running another party. However, even in cinema page also Sakshi started completely avoiding Pawan. When Pawan was chief guest for launch of NTR’s movie Aravinda sametha, Sakshi covered the news without mentioning chief guest.

As Ram Charan himself is producer, this move puzzled fans:

By seeing this biased and manipulated news in Sakshi, many mega fans stopped believing Sakshi on the news related to mega fans. In this background, ‘Sye Raa’ rights being given to Sakshi came as shocker to mega fans. If producer is outsider, it could have been justified saying, it is the decision of producer, who invested money for this magnum opus. But, incidentally, producer of this movie is also Ram charan and no logic seems to justify this move. from the point of view of fans.

Similar other incidents:

During Bahubali 1 pre-release event, Telugu people were so curious to see how would be the event but the rights of that movie were given to TV5 and that surprised many as TV5 was not that popular and that was not telecast (at that time) in some areas. Many criticized Rajamauli and team for this saying, instead of trying make more money through the event, they could have ensured that event is watched by all Telugu audience by giving this event to more popular channel. Now also many people are wondering whether Sye Raa unit preferred to make more money by giving the rights to Sakshi.

Counter argument:

However, some mega fans are giving counter arguments that it is the marketing team that decides whom should be given the telecast rights based on several parameters. However, this argument doesn’t hold good in our industry as even directors and producers can’t go ahead without getting nod from Mega star. Some others say, Chiranjeevi wants to convey that he is “Andarivadu” and his movies are not impacted by politics. But no counter argument could satisfy mega fans and they are still puzzled by this move.

P.S: People are curious to see whether Sakshi completely telecasts Pawan’s speech or cuts it short or completely avoids his speech. We will have wait for few more hours to know this.

Syeraa theatrical trailer is out yesterday and it received a thumping response from all the corners. For the first time, Megastar Chiranjeevi is essaying the lead role in a periodic drama that is based on the life story of freedom fighter Uyyalavada Narasimha Reddy. Surendar Reddy said that he and his team did enough research for six months before starting the pre-production of the project.

“We have done research for six months. I read a number of books to collect information about Uyyalavada Narasimha Reddy. I met Nandyal MP Brahmananda Reddy through which I got a lot of information. He gave me a stamp of Uyyalavada that was released during his regime. I traveled to Chennai and collected some books which helped for my research. After collecting much information, I started the film” said Surendar Reddy. Syeraa is hitting the screens on October 2nd across the globe.

How much should Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy collect in North America ?

We have already informed that Phars has bought the entire overseas rights of Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy. They have already started selling the rights of all the countries outside the Gulf (which will be their own release). North America rights of the film are bagged for 10.5 Cr by Snowflake Cinema. Now let’s see what will the breakeven gross for the film in North America.

North America Rights: 1.47 Million (10.5 Cr)
Expenses: 0.33 Million (2.40 Cr)

Total: 1.80 Million

As the distributor can get a share of 50-55 per cent of the collected Gross the film has to do at least 3.40 Million Dollars for Break-even which is 40 per cent more than Chiranjeevi’s last film Khaidi No.150 which had collected 2.45 Million Dollars.

The film is actually a safe bet considering films like Rangasthalam & Bharat Ane Nenu have already achieved this mark.

It’s a tough call for Chiru on Sye Raa climax

In many of the stories that were presented to Megastar Chiranjeevi, many times writers envisioned that the hero character should die at the end of the film. But Chiranjeevi is the one who rewrites the fate of protagonist by changing that scene.

Back then, when Chiru remade Tamil super hit Ramana in Telugu, he has removed the scene where the lead hero Vijaykanth shoots himself and dies. Rather Chiru coined the idea of carving a court scene where the lead will give a lecture on the things he has done and escapes with minimal punishment.

Coming to Chiranjeevi’s latest flick Sye Raa, it is a historical film and the Megastar can’t change the story now. We hear that writers Paruchuri Brothers and a couple of professors from Telugu university sat with Chiranjeevi for months to discuss the alternatives to this death scene. Especially with history saying that Uyyalwada’s followers and family travelling with his body for a month in the forest before the British got hold of it, how could Chiranjeevi evade those scenes? It’s a tough call for him.

Director Surender Reddy has shot all those scenes quite carefully such that both Chiranjeevi and his fans won’t get hurt. These scenes come up in the last 15 minutes of October 2nd releasing magnum opus ‘Sye Raa’.
