14 TDP MLAs suspended from AP Assembly for a day

0

Former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was among the 14 TDP MLAs who were suspended for a day from the AP Legislative Assembly on Monday.

The suspensions came after the TDP MLAs led by Mr. Naidu staged a sit-in in front of the Speaker’s podium in protest against the highhanded behaviour of the ruling YCP Government. The TDP was angry over its members not being given any chance to speak on the contentious issue of cyclone relief to the farmers and the affected people.

The TDP members were also agitated that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was making unparliamentary remarks against the Leader of the Opposition in the House.

The remaining 13 suspended TDP MLAs were K. Atchannaiudu, Payyavula Keshav, Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary, Nimmala Rama Naidu, Adireddy Bhavani, Velagapudi Ramakrishna, Dola Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy, Mantena Rama Raju, Yeluri Sambasiva Rao, Gadde Rammohan, Jogeswara Rao, Anagani Satya Prasad and Bendalam Ashok.

The Speaker made repeated appeals to the TDP members who remained seated in the podium for a long time demanding enough for them to speak on the cyclone damage. They deplored that while the ruling YCP members were given lot of time time present their views, the Opposition members were being totally discouraged.

In view of heavy cyclone damage, the TDP was demanding the Government to give compensation immediately to help the farmers take up the rabi crops. The Opposition party was also demanding Rs. 10,000 cyclone relief assistance to each poor family who lost their livelihoods.

The farmers were not getting the micro irrigation subsidy. Input subsidy and disaster compensation were not being paid. CM Jagan Reddy turned out to be a ‘betrayer of farmers’.

Jagan a ‘betrayer of farmers’, Naidu a ‘runaway Zoom Babu’

1

Sparks flew as the ruling YCP and the TDP leaders had heated exchanges on the first day of the AP Assembly session. The YCP leaders once again launched scathing attacks on former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. Instead of playing the role of a constructive opposition, Mr. Naidu has spent time all these days in another State.

Minister Kodali Nani advised Mr. Naidu to conduct online meetings as a ‘Zoom Babu’ if five days of Assembly session are not enough for him. Without addressing public issues, the TDP leaders were making needless comments on the murder attempt on Minister Perni Nani.

The YCP said that it was Chandrababu Naidu and his party leaders who told lies to the world about the Alipiri attack in which the former survived an attempt on his life. Kodali Nani asserted that their party had no need to tell lies on Kodi Kathi attack against Jagan Reddy or Tapi attack on Minister Perni Nani.

On their part, the TDP leaders called the Chief Minister a ‘betrayer of farmers’ and the only CM who had committed breach of trust on promises like Rythu Bharosa, old age pensions, Capital, etc.

Why is Panabaka very cautious on TDP Tirupati ticket?

3

The Telugu Desam Party is repeatedly saying that former Union Minister Panabaka Lakshmi will contest the Tirupati bypoll on its party ticket. Former CM Chandrababu Naidu and former Ministers of TDP have made this clear both within and outside the party meetings. There were rumours about Panabaka being not so keen on the TDP ticket since she might get a chance to contest on behalf of the BJP. It was because of this that she was silent and did not issue any statement on her candidature for the byelection till now.

Now, the TDP has once again clarified that there has been no change in Panabaka Lakshmi’s candidature. It was only because of her daughter’s marriage that she could not be accessible and not coming out before the people right now. Very soon, she will be starting her campaign and the TDP cadres are more than enthusiastic about this.

The TDP sent a senior leader to the residence of Panabaka and got her approval confirmed on the issue of contest. On the other hand, the YCP has triggered rumours that Panabaka might quit the TDP and contest the election on the BJP ticket instead. She played a key role and served as a minister before in the Congress Government at the Centre. Daggubati Purandeswari had also served as a Minister in the Congress Government but now she is with the BJP.

With Panabaka still silent on her candidature, the rumours are still spreading whether or not she will contest on TDP ticket. Crystal clarity will come only when rival candidates start campaigning. With YCP already indicating physiotherapist Gurumurthy as its candidate, all eyes are on Panabaka’s future strategy. Last minute surprises are not ruled out.

TDP promises to revive Hyderabad

1

The Telugu Desam Party on Monday promised comprehensive development of urban areas in the State if the party is voted to power in the municipal elections.

Releasing the election manifesto ahead of the GHMC elections at the NTR Bhavan on Monday, State TDP president L Ramana said Hyderabad was developed into a city of global standards during the TDP regime. He said TDP national president and former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu could attract overseas investments and spared no effort to make the city a globally known information and technology hub. Ramana stated that Naidu had developed Cyberabad which today houses the top-notch tech giants.

In its manifesto, the TDP promised to provide free water connections, free WiFi connectivity in the city to ensure every citizen has high-quality access to the internet, and piped gas to all the citizens. Futher, the TDP manifesto also promises to provide ‘pucca’ houses to all poor families.

Ramana stated that the TDP regime envisioned the international airport at Shamshabad, instrumental in construction of the Haj House, Gandhi Hospital, Outer Ring Road, and setting up of primeir business school ISB, IT giants like Microsoft, and law schools like Nalsar. He said during the TDP regime Hyderabad recieved the Crisil Rating, and was named as the best Clean and Green city and best learning city.

Ramana also criticised the ruling TRS for failing to attract any big ticket investments and also failed to fulfil its promises made in previous manifestos. Accusing both TRS of neglecting the development of Hyderabad, the TDP leader urged the voters to elect it’s party candidates for real development.

TDP to field Panabaka Lakshmi in Tirupati bypoll

6

Former MP and former Union Minister Panabaka Lakshmi is contesting again on the Telugu Desam Party ticket in Tirupati Lok Sabha constituency. The bypoll is turning into a curious fight as the TDP is full of hopes of teaching a fitting lesson to the ruling party. As per indications, the BJP is also readying to field its candidate to test its luck. The BJP’s hopes are that it will have support from the Jana Sena Party.

Now, amid growing focus on the Tirupati bypoll, Chandrababu Naidu held a video conference on this with important leaders in the constituency. In this meeting, he has made it clear to the party leaders that Lakshmi would be the TDP MP candidate. He has asked all the party leaders and activists to make all out efforts to secure the victory.

With this, it is clear that the TDP has made the first move to make a strong bid to win the Tirupati SC reserved MP seat. Because of the predominant Dalit voters, the YCP emerged as the favourite in the last election. Balli Durga Prasad won the seat on YCP ticket. Following his untimely death, Tirupati is now going to byelection. The YCP and the BJP are yet to identify and select their candidates. Pawan Kalyan has not expressed his opinion on this as of now.

TDP leaders are confident that the rising atrocities have created an anti-YCP sentiment among the weaker sections and also backward classes. These segments would definitely give a rude jolt to the YCP’s over-confidence.

NTR’s biggest fan turns very unhappy, leaves TDP

0

Former Minister Tallapaka Ramesh Reddy and his wife Anuradha joined the Telugu Desam Party in 1982 itself. Ramesh Reddy has been known as the All India NTR fans associations president from the beginning. Through all ups and downs in the party, the couple remained active in the TDP politics in Nellore district all these years.

But, after the latest reshuffle in the State Committee, Ramesh Reddy turned very unhappy and resigned from the TDP along with his wife. Anuradha has also been active and she served as the Nellore Municipal Chairperson in the past. The couple were bitter that they were not given any representation on the State Committee. For that matter, many big Reddy political families were not given importance in this reshuffle.

The TDP is bringing big change in its approach towards Nellore district politics. Slowly, the party is giving greater importance to the BCs, SCs, STs and Muslim Minorities. Already, Beeda Ravi Chandra was given importance in the district politics. Former Mayor Abdul Aziz was made the President of the TDP Nellore Parliamentary Committee.

It seems all is not well for the Nellore Pedda Reddys both in the YCP and in the TDP. Even Jagan Reddy is not giving importance to them. Full control of Nellore district is given to Minister Anil Kumar Yadav, which has come as a big embarrassment for the Pedda Reddy leaders including the Mekapati family.

TDP MLC Sunitha resigns, decides to join YCP

2

TDP MLC Suneetha has resigned from her post and strongly criticised the Telugu Desam Party leadership. She has sent her resignation letter to the Chairman of the AP Legislative Council asking him for accepting her resignation letter. For several months now, Suneetha has distanced herself from the Opposition TDP and she is one among the TDP leaders who have been lured into the YCP fold. It may be recalled how Dokka Manikya Vara Prasad and other Dalit MLCs and leaders were won over by the ruling party with a clear plan to go forward with its agenda.

After sending her resignation letter, Pothula Suneetha came down heavily on the TDP leadership, saying that the main Opposition party has been working in violation of the spirit of the Amdedkar ideals. She asserted that the TDP has been failing to discharge its duties as a constructive opposition. Moreover, the TDP leadership is adopting anti-policies and obstructing the development being brought by the ruling YCP.

It is well known how while leaving the TDP, all the leaders are saying how they are getting attracted to the pro-Dalit and pro-people policies of the Jaganmohan Reddy regime. The YCP has been specifically targetting the SC, ST leaders under its Operation Aakarsh programme.

Chandrababu Naidu also announced the setting up of a central party committee with 27 members and a politburo with 25 members. Naidu revamped the party structure to counter the YSRCP government’s actions that reversed the decisions of the previous TDP government, besides making the party strong for the next assembly elections over three years away. Naidu indicated that the party had selected hard-working talented leaders who have proved their mettle and passion for working for the people of Andhra Pradesh.president

‘A1 Jagan’ has no moral right to write letters to CJI: TDP

5

Former Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu has strongly objected to AP Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy writing a letter to the Chief Justice of India (CJI) against the judges and courts, saying that it was like the devil quoting from the scriptures. He termed it as laughable that CM Jagan, who was A1 in 12 chargesheets of the CBI and 5 chargesheets of the ED wrote the letter to the CJI. It was unfortunate that on the one hand, the Chief Minister was making mockery of democracy and the Constitution and undermined the Rule of Law while, on the other hand, he was talking about violations of the same Constitution and democratic institutions. It was indeed an audacious and arrogant move on the part of Mr. Jagan Reddy to resort to mud-slinging on the judges directly. No prime accused in so many cases displayed such audacity to attack the courts in the past. This was undoubtedly a huge setback to the judiciary of the nation. In its affidavit, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has stated that the AP CM indulged in Rs. 43,000 Cr corruption.

Mr. Ramakrishnudu recalled that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had attached already over Rs. 4,000 worth property belonging to Mr. Jagan Reddy. A person facing such serious charges in the CBI and the ED had no moral right to comment on others. It was nothing but the misuse of power that the people had given the CM for the sake of rendering service for them but not for his selfish, personal interests. Jagan Reddy’s letter to the CJI would carry no weight considering his dubious track record of being an A1 in 16 chargesheets. The letter might be an attempt to browbeat the lower levels of judiciary at a time when the CM’s illegal assets cases were coming up for daily trials in the CBI Special Court. The courts had only issued stay orders on the AP Government’s GOs since they were in violation of the Constitution and the laws of the land.

Stating that Jagan Reddy began his rule with violations, Mr. Ramakrishnudu asked how it could be termed as wrong for the High Court to stay the CRDA Repeal decision for the sake of protecting the Constitutional rights of the farmers. The Amaravati farmers sacrificed over 34,000 acres for which the Government cannot shun it responsibility. It was also nothing wrong for the court to block the shifting of the Government officers when the decentralisation and CRDA Repeal Bills were still pending for final clearance.

Rs 300 Cr worth ‘Rushikonda’ lands grabbed: TDP

0

CM Jaganmohan Reddy is prime accused in CBI cases regarding his benami transactions during YSR regime. Now, Jagan in his capacity as CM is facing new allegations of benami deals. Latest is Vizag Baypark. TDP says Jagan has unveiled Quid Pro Quo-2 in Andhra Pradesh. Former Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said the Chief Minister has taken over Baypark in the guise of Hetero and Rs 300 Cr worth Rushikonda lands have fallen into the hands of Mr. Jagan Reddy through his benamis. The Government should explain and reveal the secrets behind the changing of hands of Baypark which was developed with Rs. 120 Cr. People in highest positions were behind the major shares in Baypark going to Hetero firm.

As per the TDP, Jagan Reddy’s benamis took over Kakinada SEZ only recently and now Vizag Baypark was also grabbed. While the TDP developed the tourism projects, now the CM was developing his own benami companies. All the benefits were being passed on to those who were co-accused in his cases in the past.

The TDP leader pointed out that Hetero was the co-accused in the first charge sheet filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in Jagan Reddy’s illegal assets cases. If Jagan Reddy and Vijay Sai Reddy were A1 and A2 in those sensational cases, Hetero and Aurobindo were A4 and A3. Hetero invested Rs. 19.50 Cr in Jagan Reddy’s companies in return for 75 acres allotted to Hetero in Jadcherla SEZ.

Mr. Ramakrishnudu said that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has filed cases against M. Srinivas Reddy, Director of Hetero. It has got varied companies like Hetero Drugs Ltd, Hetero Labs Ltd and Hetero Healthcare Ltd. Kakinada SEZ was allotted to A3 Aurobindo company now. A4 Hetero got hold of Vizag Baypark.

Mr. Ramakrishnudu said that CM Jagan Reddy resorted to Quid Pro Quo-1 in his father YSR regime during 2004-`09 and now unveiled Quid Pro Quo-2 during his present regime. Kakinada SEZ and Baypark benami transactions were part of Quid Pro Quo-2 only. High level probe should be conducted into these deals. The TDP would complain to the Central Government and it would expose Jagan Reddy’s Quid Pro Quo-2 shady transactions.

Fear of cases behind Jagan’s Delhi tours, says TDP

2

AP CM Jaganmohan Reddy visited Delhi and met with PM Modi. But, he has not addressed the press anywhere about the outcome of his visit. The TDP launched an attack on this now. Former Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said that AP CM was making frequent visits to Delhi out of fear of his illegal assets cases pending before the CBI Special Court. Jagan was literally scared of the impending prospects of having to appear before the court on a daily basis in the wake of the proposal for speedy disposal of cases against people’s representatives. It is well known that half of the 25 pending cases before the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) were pertaining to Mr. Jagan Reddy.

Mr. Ramakrishnudu said that the YCP leaders were terrified of the High Court’s order for disposing of the cases against the elected leaders within 9 months. The secret meetings with Central leaders were only for selfish gains. Jagan Reddy was not able to hold joint press conferences with the Union Ministers. The AP CM was not telling the people what he asked and what the Centre has given. Even the YCP MPs were not holding any press conference to tell the people about the CM’s Delhi visit outcomes. The secrets behind the news leaks and formality sake press releases should be revealed to the people. They totally forgot about the pending promises in the Reorganisation Act. In just 17 months, Jagan Reddy made 10 trips to Delhi. The AP CM was only bothered about his future but not about the wellbeing of the people of the State.

TDP Mahila committees formed for 25 LS constituencies

1

Just a few days ago, the TDP announced its committees for all the 25 parliamentary constituencies. TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu has begun to focus on strengthening the party machinery with parliamentary segment as the unit. Till now, each district is taken as a unit. Even then, the new strategy of Naidu falls within the line of CM Jagan Reddy who has been bent on making each parliamentary segment into a district in the State.

Silently, the TDP has done its home work and changes its strategies much ahead of the YCP as far as the new districts are concerned. Now, Telugu Mahila has also formed its similar committees with LS segment as the unit.

TDP fact-finding team talks to Dalit judge brother Ramachandra

0

S Ramachandra, the brother of S Ramakrishna, a junior civil judge under suspension, who was injured when some unknown persons attacked him at B Kothakota in Chittoor district on Tuesday said he was attacked by Kumar Reddy at the behest of Thamballapalle Constituency MLA Peddireddy Dwarakanatha Reddy.

Ramachandra said four unidentified people came in a black car when he was buying ‘Dragon fruits’ on the wayside at B Kothakota when some unidentified persons in a car asked the vendor to give way. When Ramachandra intervened and protested, the four unidentified persons thrashed him. On Tuesday, the TDP fact-finding team constituted to find out complete details on the attack on Ramachandra met in Chittoor. Ramachandra gave a detailed sequence of events that unfolded on the day he was attacked.

The police on Monday arrested one P, Prathap Reddy, for allegedly attacking Ramachandra. Superintendent of Police S Senthil Kumar told the media that there was no political motive behind the attack. Ramachandra, however, stated that he has no clue who Prathap Reddy is.

Earlier, a Dalit magistrate, S Ramakrishna from Chittoor alleged that he was physically assaulted by YSRCP men, who were aides of Minister of Mines and Minerals Peddi Ramachandra Reddy. He claims this was over a row with his former colleague Justice C V Nagarjuna Reddy, who is presently the chairperson of Andhra Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission.

Some men picked a fight with Ramakrishna at his residence in B Kothakota when he questioned the men while they were allegedly stealing his bricks, which he had stocked next to his residence for construction. Subsequently, Ramakrishna called the police. However, by the time police reached, the accused had fled.

The junior judge then approached B Kothakota police station to file a complaint about the attack.

TDP defends Purandeswari, calls Vijayasai a jailbird

3

The TDP leaders do not usually support Daggubati Purandeswari, considering the long-standing differences between Mr Chandrababu Naidu and his co-brother-in-law Daggubati Venkateswara Rao. It is well known how Purandeswari had to join the Congress party and later the BJP for shaping her political career. Now, after getting the national general secretary post in BJP, Purandeswari has spoken in strong defence of Amaravati Capital.

Quite surprisingly, YCP MP Vijayasai Reddy has made caste allegations against Purandeswari for supporting the Amaravati project after she took over as BJP top post. The YCP leaders were targeting Purandeswari despite her having strong influence in the BJP national circles.

In the face of this, the TDP came in defence of Purandeswari and launched a scathing attack on Vijayasai Reddy. Former Minister Ayyanna Patrudu said that the NTR family was like a Tulsi garden while the YCP MP was a Ganja plant in a Ganja garden. Everybody knows the illegal assets cases and how Vijayasai Reddy has been condemned as a jailbird.

Ayyanna Patrudu told Vijayasai not to speak with arrogance and attitude as the day is not far off when he would have to pay a heavy price for his illegal activities.

Kodali Nani encouraged by Sajjala to comment on PM: TDP

1

Has PMO taken a serious view of Kodali Nani’s remarks? TDP leader Varla Ramaiah’s statements are confirming this. He has strongly objected to the highly objectionable comments made by YSRCP Minister Kodali Sri Venkateswara Rao (Kodali Nani) on Prime Minister Narendra Modi with regard to holding puja in temples.

Mr. Ramaiah accused Jagan Reddy Government’s Advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy of encouraging Kodali Nani to pass such distasteful comments against none other than the Prime Minister.

The TDP senior leader asserted that naturally, the top leadership of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) took very serious view of the AP Minister’s outbursts that dragged Modi’s name into the needless controversy on the presentation of sacred silken robes at Tirumala temple.

Mr. Ramaiah said that after allowing the Minister to speak mindlessly, the YSRCP leadership was now trying to defend him by saying that Kodali Nani was not an educated person and that his comments were made out of lack of awareness of propriety and decorum. Now, the YCP leaders were pleading with the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) to excuse the AP Minister taking pity for his innocent remarks.

It may be recalled that a controversy has been raging over AP Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy presenting sacred silken robes to the deity at Tirumala temple alone. The Sadhus, Hindu organisations and the TDP have been demanding the CM to present the robes along with his spouse. But, Mr. Jagan Reddy has defiantly ignored these demands.

At this juncture, Kodali Nani has told the BJP leaders to first ask their Prime Minister to bring his spouse while visiting temples. Nani had also asked why PM Modi did not take his spouse for puja at Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

Atchannaidu appointed as TDP president (AP wing)

2

TDP MLA and former Labor Minister Atchannaidu, who was tested positive for Covid-19 and harassed by the ruling YSRCP government, has been appointed as the president of Telugu Desam Party (AP wing).

Atchannaidu elevation is a clear indication that former chief minister and TDP national president Chandrababu Naidu has recognized the Srikakulam strongman’s loyalty and experience.

Atchannaidu will replace Kala Venkata Rao as the new TDP president (AP wing). Several TDP leaders have endorsed Atchannaidu as the party president of AP, in place of Kala Venkat Rao, who reportedly offered to step down after the party’s debacle in the last elections. Atchannaidu was chosen as the party president as he is known for his aggressive posture against the YSRCP and had been vocal about several issues. The Srikakulam strongman hails from Backward Caste, one of the key factors for his choice. His elevation is expected to consolidate the BC vote bank.

Naidu strongly backed Atchannaidu when he was arrested in the alleged ESI scam. In an act of political vendetta, the YSRCP government ordered an ACB probe into the alleged irregularities in the purchase of equipment, medicines, and other items in the Directorate of Insurance and Medical Services between 2014 and 2019.
The senior TDP leader was arrested in Srikakulam on June 12. The CB sleuths went to the senior TDP leader’s residence at Tekkali in Srikakulam district and arrested him an early morning swoop down. At the time of arrest, the TDP leader had undergone surgery for piles. Yet, the TDP leader was taken by road from Srikakulam to Guntur, more than 400 kms and nearly 10 hours of journey. He was shifted to Guntur GGH on health grounds and discharged after second piles surgery on July 1. Following an interim order of the High Court on July 8, he was shifted to Ramesh Hospitals the same day. Later, he was tested positive for Covid-19.
Meanwhile, Kala Venkat Rao had been with the TDP since 1983 although he had a brief stint with the Praja Rajyam Party. Kala Venkat Rao held key portfolios such as Home, Municipal Administration, and Commercial Taxes. He was also a Rajya Sabha member and Chairman of the TTD.

Vizag South MLA to leave TDP and join YSRCP

3

Visakhapatnam South MLA Vasupalli Ganesh Kumar has distanced himself from the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) activities for quite some time. Now, time has come for him to announce his decision to leave the TDP and join the ruling YSRCP. Reports say that the TDP MLA will join YSRCP in the presence of Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy. They may not officially announce his joining considering the legislative complications in the Assembly.

Like other TDP MLAs, Ganesh Kumar would also meet Jagan Reddy and make some comments against the Chandrababu Naidu leadership. He would not be wearing any YSRCP flag just like Vallabhaneni Vamsi, Maddali Giri and Karanam Balaram who already shifted loyalties to the YSRCP.

For a long time now, CM Jagan has been making all out efforts to attract most TDP MLAs and leaders in Visakhapatnam and North Andhra districts. The ruling party has even tried to woo the Kinjarapu Yerrannaidu family which is known for its long-standing bond with the TDP. It was only because of this that K. Atchannaidu was made to face a lot of political harassment.

The Chief Minister’s special focus on North Andhra was evident from how he has been making futuristic plans for making Visakhapatnam the Capital of his political empire. It is well known Jagan Reddy has been saying he will be in rule for the next 30 to 35 years in Andhra Pradesh. Already, Vijayasai Reddy has taken a firm grip on North Andhra districts even though there are Deputy Chief Minister and senior Ministers like Botsa Satyanarayana.

Jagan Reddy vote share eroded by 16%: TDP’s latest attack

4

The Telugu Desam Party has started a new information campaign that the YSRCP Government is paying a heavy penalty now for its continuing attacks and atrocities on the weaker sections and backward classes people in villages and towns all over Andhra Pradesh ever since coming to power in 2019 elections. The TDP says that in the last 16 months of its oppressive regime, the ruling YSRCP has lost support of 16 per cent voters. The BC, SC, ST and Minorities have distanced themselves from the ruling party unable to bear its misrule.

The TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu told the party leaders that the poorer sections were disenchanted and distanced from Jagan Reddy party. They were facing severe hardships because of the unbearable burdens from tax hikes and loss of livelihoods. Current charges were increased three times. Sand and cement rates increased heavily which created a big crisis. Liquor prices were increased by 300 per cent. Water cess and registration charges were also hiked. In just a short time, over Rs. 50,000 Cr worth taxe burdens were placed on the people.

In the recent few weeks, the TDP has been challenging again and again that Jagan Reddy should seek fresh mandate on his U-turns on his countless promises especially Amaravati Capital City. Amid the Parliament session and a lot of heat on AP politics, the TDP is taking its fight a step ahead saying that there is an erosion of 16 per cent vote share in YCP vote bank.

In 2019, YCP got 50 per cent vote share as against 40 per cent of TDP. It is clear how the TDP chief is making it obvious that their party has come into a winning position. Indeed, a bold challenge to the YSRCP.

After TDP, it’s BJP leaders’ turn to taste Police travel treatment

Everybody has seen how the AP Police have forced the arrested TDP leaders to travel in police vans for long, long distances as a unique kind of punishment. In the name of investigation, Atchannaidu was made to travel for over 700 kms even though he was recovering from surgery. Now, a similar kind of treatment is being given to the BJP leaders. The same BJP leaders, who watched as silent spectators previously, are now expressing serious dissent against the ruling YCP attitude.

The latest victim is BJP senior leader Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, who is one of those leaders to speak softly towards Jagan Reddy regime now and then. But now, Vishnu Vardhan Reddy has been placed under preventive arrest. Not stopping at that, he was taken around in police vans for over 350 kms throughout the night.

Vishnu Vardhan’s only crime was that he reached Amalapuram as part of BJP AP President Somu Veerraju’s call for ‘Chalo Amalapuram’ to register protest against Antarvedi chariot burning. VV Reddy expressed concern that the police were not even telling where he was being taken and where he was being detained. He said that he was seeing the arrests of dissenting opposition leaders only under the Jagan Reddy Government.

The BJP leader has asked whether CM Jagan and AP Police have written for themselves a separate Constitution to suppress the rights of the people of the State.

TDP gives protest call outside temples

2

The TDP on Saturday called on party leaders and activists to protest at various temples on each day for a week against the attacks on Hindu temples.

Former MLA from Vijayawada central constituency called on party leaders and activists to launch protest in front of Suryadevelayam (Sun God temples) on Sunday, Shiva temples on Monday, Anjaneyaswamy temples on Tuesday, Aiyappa temples on Wednesday, Saibaba temples on Thursday, Ammavaridevastanam on Friday, Vishunu temples on Saturday.

He called on the party supporters to gather outside the temples for a week to make this protest demonstration against the ruling YSRCP government a grand success.

“It is our duty to protect the Hindu temples. Many incidents have happened in the last one year of YSRCP party coming to power,” Bonda Uma said.

The protest call comes in the wake of the fire mishap at Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple on Antarvedi in East Godavari district in which a 60-year-old wooden chariot was burnt to ashes.

The Andhra Pradesh government, however, warned that if devotees are disturbed or caused any discomfort, strict action will be taken against the protesters. “I am warning TDP leaders if there is any disturbance to peace and security at any temple, we will not spare them,” AP Endowments Minister Vellampalli Srinivas Rao said.
