Theatrical Releases: Tollywood aims August

The entire Telugu film industry is shut from the past two months because of the second wave of coronavirus. The shoots are resuming slowly and the entire Telugu cinema will return back to work from July first week. But there is no possibility for theatrical screening of the films as the government needs to grant permission to reopen the theatres. There are talks that the theatres will reopen from the end of July on 50 percent occupancy basis.

Summer pending releases like Love Story, Tuck Jagadish, Viraata Parvam and Seetimaar are expected to hit the screens in August if things are positive. The discussions are on for now and nothing has been finalized. Films like Naarappa, Paagal, Most Eligible Bachelor are done with the shoot of Radhe Shyam, Acharya are in the final stages of the shoot. Tollywood will have a bunch of releases in August, Septemer if things are favorable.

Virata Parvam’s Kolu Kolu: Soothing Number

Musical promotions of Rana and Sai Pallavi starrer Virata Parvam begin today as first song of the film Kolu Kolu is released. Venkatesh has revealed the song scored by Suresh Bobbili. The song starts with male voice and rural atmosphere is wonderfully explored.

Suresh Bobbili scores a soothing melody and he proves what he is capable of with this song. Divya Maalika sings the number enchantingly, while Chandrabose’ lyrics are expressive. However, Sai Pallavi does the magic with her simple yet charismatic dance moves.

Venu Udugula has directed the film while Sudhakar Cherukuri and Suresh Babu are jointly producing it. The film is scheduled to be released theatrically on 30th April.

Following the trend of releasing first look posters on birthdays, the makers of an upcoming film Virataparvam dropped first look of hero Rana Daggubati. He is introduced as Maoist leader Ravi Anna.

Rana appears in naxal dress code with a gun and his team can be seen following him. Sporting beard, Rana amazes in this getup. First glimpse of the Venu Udugula directing film will also be released today at 11:07 AM.

Paired opposite Rana in the periodic romantic action drama is Sai Pallavi. The film also stars Priyamani, Nivetha Pethuraj, Easwari Rao and Zareena Wahab in supporting roles. Virataparvam is bankrolled by Sudhakar Cherukuri in association with Suresh Babu Daggubati.

Rana Daggubati to slip into a quarantine bubble

Rana Daggubati is back to work and he completed the shoots for a couple of shows. The actor will resume the work of his upcoming project Viraata Parvam this week in the forests of Vikarabad. This would be the last schedule of the film which will last for ten days. All the unit members will take up coronavirus tests before they resume the shoot. The entire movie unit along with Rana Daggubati and Sai Pallavi will stay in the quarantine bubble. No visitors would be allowed on to the sets.

Viraata Parvam may release during summer 2021. Venu Udugula is the director of this action-packed social drama. Suresh Babu and Sudhakar Cherukuri are the producers of Viraata Parvam. Rana is also in talks for a web series along with Venkatesh which will happen next year. Rana will shoot for Hiranyakashyapa next year which is a big-budget mythological drama that will be directed by Gunasekhar.

Rana all set to return back to sets from November

Tollywood actor Rana Daggubati got married to Miheeka Bajaj during this lockdown period and is spending time with his family. He is engaged with various web based projects that will be produced by Suresh Productions. Following all the safety measures, Rana Daggubati will return back to the sets of Virata Parvam from the first week of November. Two weeks of the shoot is left pending and the entire shoot will be completed in a single schedule.

Venu Udugula is the director and Rana, Sai Pallavi are the lead actors in this social drama. Suresh Babu and Sudhakar Cherukuri are producing this film which is carrying decent expectations. The film will release during the first quarter of 2021.

Nandita Das thrilled about returning to Telugu cinema

Actor Nandita Das, who has made a comeback to Telugu industry after a decade with the upcoming film “Virataparvam”, is thrilled as well as nervous about her return with the Rana Daggubati starrer.

Nandita, who has started shooting for the film, said she accepted the movie because she believed in the director’s vision.

“I am doing the film for the script, the director’s vision and the role. Had no idea who I was replacing and how does it matter. In Hyderabad, started shooting for the film. Nervous about speaking Telugu,” she said in a statement.

Being directed by Venu Udugala, “Virataparvam” stars Rana and Sai Pallavi in lead roles.

“I’m shooting for a film, that too in a language I speak after over a decade! But once I was on set, the whole atmosphere brought back the joy of being part of strong stories without having the responsibilities of being the director,” she said.

Nandita said she plays a short but significant character.

“It’s a character I can relate to a lot. The director and the crew were really professional and friendly, and it was absolute delight to work with Sai Pallavi – an amazing actor and person. I look forward to working with Rana Daggubati in the second schedule,” she added.

Based in the 1990s, the film sheds light on the Maoist movement, specifically the moral dilemma that prevailed during then.
