Undavalli’s masterful counter did more damage to YSRCP

1

The recent exchange of words between Chiranjeevi and the YSRCP leaders has ignited a fervent debate in Telugu states. However, masterful counter of Ex member of parliament Undavalli Arun Kumar seems to have done more damage to the YSRCP . Here’s a closer look at the situation.

It is widely known that during the 200-day celebration of “Valtheru Veeraiya,” Chiranjeevi shared an advice directed at YSRCP leaders. He urged them to prioritize developmental pursuits over snubbing the Telugu Film industry. However, this statement of Chiranjeevi was met with criticism and reproach from the YSRCP camp. YSRCP leaders like Gudivada Amarnath, Perni Nani, Kodali Nani, Botsa, Kottu, and Roja voiced their disagreement with varying degrees of fervor. Some used derogatory words indirectly aimed at the Megastar. Roja even issued a challenge to Chiranjeevi, suggesting his return to politics if he intended to engage in political discussions . However, such a retort holds little weight considering the fundamental democratic right of free expression. The YSRCP leaders even attempted to corner Chiranjeevi by reminding the public of his role as a union minister during the tumultuous Andhra Pradesh bifurcation.

Although a few leaders, including Ganta Sreenivas and Kothapalli Subbarayudu, who were associated with Chiranjeevi during the PRP era, rallied in support, their voices seemed subdued amidst the more vociferous YSRCP members. The common people , particularly those active on social media platforms, rallied around Chiranjeevi and posed pertinent questions to YSRCP leaders, mirroring the concerns raised by the megastar. Still , Chiranjeevi’s supporters believed that these counterarguments failed to make a resounding impact against the sharp remarks of loud mouthed YSRCP leaders.

In this context, Undavalli’s press conference marked a pivotal turning point. Revered for his balanced assessments, Undavalli has previously acknowledged the achievements of Jagan, Pawan, and even CBN. His endorsement of Chiranjeevi’s stance further underscored the gravity of the matter. He affirmed, “Chiranjeevi’s words carry sincerity. He played a pivotal role in securing the status of Hyderabad as a joint capital for an entire decade. Expressing dissent against one’s own government while serving as a union minister is no small feat, and Chiranjeevi displayed courage in doing so. Now, with a lack of political power, he is advocating for the government’s commitment to special status and other rightful promises.” Undavalli also reminded that the “Telugu Film Industry” may be a small bird, but not the Megastar.

Undavalli’s well-considered and insightful perspective resonated deeply with neutral people who were just following the issue without supporting Chiranjeevi or YSRCP. Political observers believing that Undavalli’s press meet in support of Chiranjeevi caused more damage to YSRCP than all other counter arguments put together.

He visited Gurajapulanka, Kuna Lanka, Lanka of Thanelanka in Mummidivaram mandal and Kondakuduru Lanka and Potti Lanka villages in P. Gannavaram mandal.

The Chief Minister went round the houses in some villages, met the villagers at doorstep and enquired about their welfare. He interacted with groups of people in the villages.

Receiving written appeals from people, he spent time asking them about flood relief measures and the groceries and cash compensation received. In all villages, people expressed happiness over the supply of groceries and distribution of cash compensation by officials.

They said they have received the compensation of Rs. 2000 each for houses in which flood water has entered and Rs. 10,000 each for houses that were damaged, along with the provisions. During the interactions, people said official teams worked well and attended to them initiating timely relief measures.

The Chief Minister said he was happy to hear no complaints from the people. He announced that orders were given to officials for the construction of 3.5 km long revetment wall (stone pitching) in the low-lying villages along Godavari River to prevent soil erosion and Rs. 200crore would be sanctioned for it.

He examined markings made by the officials comparing the flood water levels of last and present seasons and damaged crops of chilly and ladies’ finger and other vegetable crops. He also spoke to the farmers and assured them support.

He has announced that the enumeration of crop loss would begin in the next three days and the farmers who suffered crop loss would be compensated by this month end.

The lists with the details of crop loss would be displayed at the RBKs and people can come out with grievances after the display. “We will ensure that no one misses out in the enumeration,” he said, adding that justice would be done to all eligible people through social audit.

This is the only government which has been taking measures to vaccinate the affected cattle too, he said, adding that the great administrative set up in villages like the RBKs, Villages clinics, volunteers and secretariat staff have acted in time to provide relief to the flood-affected victims.

Jagan tours flood-hit areas of Godavari districts

Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday launched his two-day tour in the flood-hit areas of undivided Godavari districts. On the first day, he visited Kunavaram and Kukkanuru and other villages of Polavaram and East Godavari districts.

The chief minister interacted with the flood victims and told them that he is aware of the tough time they had during the floods. He also told them that he had given money to the district collectors to help the victims. He said that he had instructed the officials to organise flood relief camps, give compensation to the damaged houses and provide basic provisions to each family.

Jagan Mohan Reddy addressed the victims in every village. At Gommugudem village, Jagan Mohan Reddy met the flood victims, who are also from the submerged areas of the Polavaram project. The chief minister told them that he had been trying to get the funds from the Centre to pay compensation.

The Central government had agreed to pay the compensation at the 2013-14 prices. He said he had taken up their case specially and requested the Centre to be liberal in paying compensation. He expressed confidence that the Centre would respond positively.

The chief minister further said that the Union Jal Shakthi ministry and the Central Water Commission have accepted the proposal to increase the compensation. The issue was sent for the approval of the Central cabinet, the chief minister said. He further added that the Central cabinet is likely to meet at the end of this month and approve the proposal.

The Central government is likely to give Rs 17,000 crore for the compensation to the submerged areas of the Polavaram project. He said he would take care of every family with a human face.

The chief minister then reached Rajamahendravaram and held a review meeting with the officials. He would be staying in the Roads and Buildings Guest House for the night. On Tuesday he would be touring West Godavari and Dr B R Ambedkar Konaseema districts, before returning to his camp office at Tadepalli.

It’s AP’s misfortune to have CM like Jagan, says Lokesh

0

Andhra Pradesh is unfortunate to have a Chief Minister like Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy, remarked TDP general secretary, Nara Lokesh, on Sunday.

The villagers of Jayanthiramapuram of Vinukonda Assembly segment in the combined Guntur district, in a memorandum submitted to Lokesh during his Yuva Galam pada yatra, pointed out various local issues. Responsing to them, the TDP national general secretary said that it is the misfortune of the State to have Jagan as the Chief Minister, who could not take steps even to meet the drinking water needs of the people.

Lokesh promised the villagers that the coming TDP government will take measures to permanently solve all the land disputes. Permanent right will be given to those who have been cultivating assigned lands since long, he said.

Condoling the sudden demise of the most popular folk singer, Gadar. ”I am shocked to know that the renowned balladeer and popular folk singer Gadar is no more. My deepest condolences to the bereaved family members,” Lokesh said in a press note released during the pada yatra on learning about the death of Gadar.

When the villagers of Mellavagu complained that since there is no transport facility to the Tandas, the children are not showing interest towards education, Lokesh said that education has become a distant dream to over four lakh children from rural areas due to the wrong decision taken by Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, to merge the educational institutions. There is a lot of negative impact on the lifestyle of tribals in Tandas after Mr Jagan has come to power, Lokesh said.

Promising to set up residential schools in Tandas immediately after the TDP forms the next government, Lokesh said that the water problems of the area too will be resolved.

Due to State Govt’s ineffective policies grain production fell by 8 lakh metric tonnes, Naidu

The inefficient and ineffective policies of the Jagan Mohan Reddy Government grain production has come down by eight lakh metric tonnes in the State compared to 2019-20, said Nara Chandrababu Naidu, former chief minister and TDP president, on Sunday.

If an incapable person is given power no one can expect a better result than this, Naidu said while addressing a roadshow after visiting various irrigation projects in the combined Nellore district as part of his ongoing ‘Yudha Bheri’ programme. While a fall of eight lakh metric tonnes of grains has been reported in the State, the grain production has gone up by 90 lakh tonnes in the neighbouring State of Telangana during the same period, he pointed out.

Any Government should take decisions that can bring changes for better in the lives of the people, the former chief minister said, adding that this Government, however, take quite opposite decisions. Stating that Andhra Pradesh has the highest availability of irrigation facilities than any other State, Naidu felt that if the five major rivers are interlinked the State will permanently come out of the water-related issues.

Narrating how, in his capacity as the chief minister of the State, has planned to supply water to various areas, Naidu said that since it would take a lot of time to complete the Polavaram project, Pattiseema lift has been built thus getting water for the Krishna delta.

Foundation has been laid for the first phase works proposed to shift the Godavari waters to Pennar and this is Vikhuntapuram project, the TDP supremo recalled. ”We can supply water to maximum extent of land with less expenditure since our State has that kind of facility,” Naidu felt.

Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, is not interested in completing the ongoing projects but has announced new projects at a cost of Rs 5,300 cr only for the benefit of the Minister, Peddireddy, he remarked. ”When I am waging a war to bring water to the State, Jagan is planning to wet the State with blood,” Naidu remarked.

Rayalaseema is victim of Jagan’s inefficiency, says Naidu

0

Former chief minister and TDP president, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, on Thursday commented that Rayalaseema has become a victim to the foolishness and inefficiency of Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Naidu made a power-point presentation on the irrigation projects in Anantapur district as part of his ongoing ‘Yudha Bheri’ programme. The TDP supremo said that Jagan almost nullified 102 projects in Rayalaseema, including 38 in Anantapur district alone. This apart, in the name of launching new projects, Mr Jagan has minted Rs 600 cr, he remarked.

“My sole aim is making Rayalaseema a fertile land and I am now visiting all the irrigation projects in the State only to tell the public about the destructive policies of Jagan due to which these projects have got damaged,” Naidu said. Observing that the people should realise the fact as to who has done justice to their area and who did injustice to them, he felt that besides the common man, intellectuals, farmers, farmers associations and people’s unions should be aware of how Jagan has ruined the irrigation projects as all of them are witnesses to the damage caused to the State.

All should realise the benefit the State will get if rivers like the Vamsadhara, the Nagavali, Godavari, the Pennar, and the Krishna are interlinked, Naidu said and felt that water and roads are crucial for creating assets. Water was supplied to Anantapur district due to Pattiseema, he stated.

Pointing out that Anantapur and Mahabubnagar districts were the most backward districts in the combined Andhra Pradesh, the TDP supremo noted that Anantapur is developed as water was supplied to the district while Mahabubnagar is developed as an industrial hub. Pointing out that 120 TMC feet of the Godavari water is shifted to Krishna Delta through Pattiseema, Naidu said that the surplus water in Srisailam project is supplied to Rayalaseema through Handri-Neeva, Galeru-Nagari, and the Telugu Ganga.

Though Anantapur did not witness any rains till now this year, the State Government has not switched on the Pattiseema and Handri-Neeva pump-sets, he remarked. “It was late NT Rama Rao, who made it clear that the surplus water from Srisailam can be supplied to Rayalaseema and it is the TDP which said that the Godavari water can be brought to the region and also realised it,” Naidu said.

Giving even minute details on the release of funds by the TDP governments for various irrigation projects in the State, particularly in Rayalaseema region, including Anantapur district, Naidu felt that when will these ongoing works of the projects be completed if the rulers do not have any understanding. Of the total of 47.20 lakh acres agricultural land in Anantapur district, land fit for cultivation is only 11.79 lakh acres while the extent of land under irrigation is a mere 1.39 lakh acres, he said and stated that the farmers totally depend on water from the Pennar and the Krishna basins.

Irrigation sector got reversed due to Jagan’s destructive policies, says Naidu

1

Irrigation sector in the State got totally reversed due to the destructive policies adopted by the YSRCP Government and irrigation suffered huge losses, observed former chief minister and TDP president, N Chandrababu Naidu, on Tuesday.

As part of the TDP’s ‘Yudha Bheri’ programme taken up to project the failures of the State Government on the irrigation sector, Naidu is touring Kurnool district on Tuesday. On his arrival at Orvakallu airport, the TDP supremo was given a warm reception by a large number of party leaders and activists.

Later addressing a public meeting, Naidu said that the TDP has declared a war on the destruction of the irrigation projects and as part of the programme he will visit all the projects in the State to bring awareness among the people. Observing that he is now embarking on the ‘Yudha Bheri’ from Nandikotkur to Pathapatnam, Naidu said that beginning his yatra here he will tour about 2,500 km to bring awareness among all.

The Matchumarri project is a lifeline for Rayalaseema, the TDP supremo said and stated that he will certainly complete this project and dedicate it to the nation. Banakacherla is the gateway of Rayalaseema through which drinking, and irrigation needs of the region can be met, he noted.

Recalling that Rayalaseema witnessed several agitations for water, Naidu said that the situation has totally changed after NTR became the chief minister in 1983. Entire Rayalaseema turned into a fertile region with the Srisailam Right Bank Canal (SRBC) and the whole credit goes to the late NTR, he maintained.

For the Telugu Ganga project, N T Rama Rao had convinced three chief ministers and the prime minister and successfully supplied drinking water to Chennai, Naidu recalled. It is the TDP that launched the Handi-Neeva, Galeru-Nagari, Matchumarri and the SRBC he said, adding that it is the Late NT Rama Rao who is behind supplying water for the entire region.

While the TDP successfully supplied water to Rayalaseema, Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, has totally destroyed all these projects, Naidu regretted.

Pointing out that Rs 68,000 cr was spent for irrigation projects in five years during the TDP regime, Naidu said that Jagan has spent a magre amount of Rs 22,000 cr. “I have spent Rs 12,400 cr for these projects in Rayalaseema, but this traitor has till now spent only Rs 2,000 cr,” the TDP supremo said.

Jagan lays stone for Inorbit Mall in Visakhapatnam

0

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy laid foundation stone for the Rs 600 crore Inorbit Mall to be built by K Raheja Group, here on Tuesday.

Addressing the gathering after participating in a ground-breaking ceremony and unveiling the plaque, the Chief Minister said that the Inorbit Mall, coming up in an area of 13 acres in the allotted 17 acres, would become the jewel of Visakhapatnam.

Inorbit Mall in Hyderabad was built in an area of 7 to 8 acres, but this will come up in 12 to 13 acres, he said, adding that it would become the biggest shopping mall in South India.

It would provide direct and indirect employment to 8000 people, he said, stating that the Raheja Group will develop IT space and an international convention centre in the rest of the four acres in the second phase in which 3000 persons will get employment.

The Chief Minister said that the Raheja Group has also expressed interest to build super luxurious Raj Vilas type hospitality facilities in the city where May Fair and Oberoi Hotel groups are building 7-star hotels and resorts.

“During my last visit here, I laid the foundation for Bhogapuram International airport, Adani Data centre and Mulapeta sea port in Srikakulam district. With the Inorbit Mall coming up here, the façade of North Andhra will change forever,” he said.

He said Raheja Group has been allotted 350 acres at Hindupur in Anantapur district for setting up a textile and electronic hardware hub which will provide employment to 15000 people.

“Raheja has requested me to expedite the work on it and I promise we will work on it aggressively. You go ahead with your investments. We are here to support you in every sphere. Bear this in mind that you will find a sea-change here in attitude compared to any other state in the country,” he said, assuring that the official machinery is ready to solve the problems of industrialists with just a phone call.

Naidu to visit all projects in AP from Aug 1 to expose Jagan’s failures

1

Former chief minister and TDP supremo, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, will personally visit all the irrigation projects in the State from August 1 to 10 only to expose the miserable failures of Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, said TDP State unit president, Kinjerapu Atchen Naidu, on Saturday.

“Naidu will present all the details with evidence how the irrigation and farming sectors have got ruined with the inefficiency and incompetence of Mr Jagan,” the TDP State unit president told media persons at the party headquarters. With clear evidence Naidu has already brought before the public through the media the present poor condition of the irrigation projects, Atchen Naidu said.

The people will teach a fitting lesson to Minister Ambati Rambabu, who, without responding properly on the issues raised by Naidu, has resorted to using unmindful language, Atchen Naidu felt. People are laughing at Ambati Rambabu who, unable to remove even the silt in canals, is talking so highly about irrigation projects, he remarked.

The people of the State are already aware that Jagan is more worried about looting, counter-attacks and murder politics than development and welfare of the people, the TDP State unit president said. With his inefficiency and incompetence Jagan has totally destroyed the irrigation and farming sectors that are crucial for the development of the State, he observed.

Only to thoroughly expose these failures of Jagan, the TDP supremo is undertaking visits to the projects from August 1, Atchen Naidu noted. The situation has come to such a pass that the farmer is now deserting the noble profession of agriculture and is preferring to take holiday, the TDP State president regretted.

The farmers are already on the ventilator but the State Government still wants more time to come to their rescue, Atchen Naidu said and felt that the people have already come to a decision to throw both Jagan and the YSRCP in the Bay of Bengal.

Jagan reversed AP with reverse tendering, says Naidu

0

Former chief minister and TDP president, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, is of the opinion that Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, is a curse to the Polavaram project which is the lifeline of the State.

Addressing media persons at the party headquarters on the progress of the Polavaram project works, Naidu felt that due to the inefficiency and policies of reversal of the State Government the Polavaram project has got completely destroyed. In the name of reverse tendering, Jagan has totally reversed the State and the project, he remarked.

The diaphragm wall was washed away due to the foolish decisions of Jagan, Naidu said and explained in detail with evidence that all the systems have found fault with the State Government. “The ruling dispensation should not resort to counterattack on us on the Polavaram destruction but should explain in detail for its failures,” the former chief minister observed.

While the TDP government had spent Rs 11,537 cr on Polavaram project while this Government has till now spent a meagre amount of Rs 4611 cr, Naidu pointed out. Expressing concern that Mr Jagan, while in Opposition, has spoken so highly of the project displaced, the TDP supremo said that after coming to power he literally deceived them.

Why the project, which was supposed to be completed by 2020 itself, is getting abnormally delayed and who is responsible for the technical errors, Naidu asked and questioned the faulty decisions of the State Government. “I have taken up the Polavaram, which is the biggest project in the country, with a deep desire of interlinking the rivers in the State but these egoistic people deliberately damaged the project,” former chief minister said.

Explaining how about 4,000 TMC feet of the Godavari water is flowing into the sea, Naidu said that if this water is properly utilised the contours of the State will change totally. Also, the hydro-power project would have resolved the power problems of the State completely, he stated.

Polavaram is a dream of five crore people of the State, Naidu said. “At a time when the dream was about to be realised, it became a victim in the hands of these incompetent persons,” the former chief minister regretted.

Recalling that the moment he became the chief minister of the State in 2014, he thought of the Polavaram project, the TDP supremo said that he personally explained in detail to the Union ministers concerned of the then NDA government. “I made a request to the then Central government to merge the seven mandals in Telangana into Andhra Pradesh which are in the flood zone,” he recalled.

“My concern is only about the people. I am undertaking the State-wide tour from next week with the sole aim of bringing awareness among the public on the need for progress and development. I will visit all the projects and explain to the people the damage caused by Jagan and his Government,” Naidu observed.

Jagan releases Rs 45.53 cr under Videshi Vidya Deevena

0

Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy released Rs 45.53 crore under the Jagananna Videshi Vidya Deevena scheme on Thursday. This benefits 357 meritorious students who secured admissions to the top-ranking 50 universities abroad for higher studies. The amount was directly credited into the bank accounts of the beneficiaries’ mothers, alleviating the financial burden for these students and their families.

The Chief Minister highlighted that the Videshi Vidya Deevena scheme is a boon for deserving students from SC, ST, BC, minority, and EBC backgrounds who face financial constraints in pursuing education abroad. Implemented with complete transparency, the government ensures that all eligible students receive financial assistance to make their dreams of studying abroad come true.

“Parents of these students should not fall into a debt trap. Hence, the government is fully committed to supporting eligible students throughout their journey, covering expenses such as airfare, visa charges, and tuition fees for their courses in the top 50 universities abroad, as per the QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) World University and Times Higher Education rankings,” stated the Chief Minister.

Under the scheme, SC, ST, BC, and minority students can avail of fee reimbursement up to Rs 1.25 crore, while EBC students can avail of up to Rs 1 crore to pursue academic careers across 21 faculties in 320 renowned educational institutions abroad.

To include more students in this program, the government raised the annual family income limit for beneficiaries from Rs 6 lakh to Rs 8 lakh, ensuring a broader reach of financial support. Additionally, the government cleared arrears of Rs 318 crore owed to students during the TDP regime.

Why did Avinash meet Jagan?

0

Kadapa MP, Y S Avinash Reddy, met chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy at the latter’s camp office in Tadepalli on Thursday. The two had discussions for more than an hour.

The MP came down to the state from the monsoon session of the Parliament. Though the details of the meeting are not known yet, it is assumed that the two had discussed Avinash Reddy’s letter to the CBI on the former minister Y S Vivekananda Reddy’s murder.

Avinash Reddy had asked the CBI for a fresh investigation into the case and had raised several points which the CBI allegedly missed in its investigation. He also levelled charges against the investigating officers and accused them of siding with Vivekananda Reddy’s daughter Dr Suneetha Reddy.

The CBI had accused Avinash Reddy of conspiracy behind the murder. The CBI in its final charge sheet submitted to the Telangana high court on July 30 named Avinash Reddy as accused 8 in the murder.

The CBI cited political rivalry between Avinash Reddy and Vivekananda Reddy that led to the murder. The CBI tried to arrest Avinash Reddy in the murder but could not do so as he was on anticipatory bail.

In this background, it is assumed that both Jagan Mohan Reddy and Avinash Reddy have discussed the CBI cases and the steps to be taken in the days to come. The YSR Congress leaders are strongly condemning the allegations levelled by the CBI team against Avinash Reddy.

The YSR Congress leaders, including its general secretary and government advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, are now speaking on the issue denying the involvement of the Kadapa MP. They are also countering the CBI’s allegation that chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy was the first to receive the information about Vivekananda Reddy’s murder.

MP Bose meets Jagan, no end to infighting

0

YSR Congress Rajya Sabha member, Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose, on Tuesday met AP chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy at his camp office in Tadepalli. The MP is locked horns with minister Chelluboyina Srinivasa Venugopala Krishna in Ramachandrapuram Assembly constituency of Dr B R Ambedkar Konaseema district in Andhra Pradesh.

Bose, who had been loyal to Jagan Mohan Reddy from the beginning, is now asking the party ticket for his son in the coming elections. Minister Venugopala Krishna is firm on contesting once again from the same Ramachandrapuram constituency. The two leaders have locked horns over the seat, even before Jagan Mohan Reddy took a call.

Bose alleged that the Minister has been targeting his supporters in the constituency. He alleged that police cases were filed against his supporters in the constituency at the behest of the minister and said that he would work for the defeat of the minister in the coming elections.

He also said that he would quit his Rajya Sabha seat and is ready to field his son as an independent candidate if the party leadership nominated Venugopala Krishna in the 2024 general election. He made this statement without even waiting for Jagan Mohan Reddy to take a decision.

Following this, the party leadership had summoned Bose to the chief minister’s camp office on Tuesday. Bose met Jagan Mohan Reddy and told him about his difficulties in the constituency with the minister. He also requested the chief minister to consider fielding his son in the next elections from Ramachandrapuram Assembly constituency.

Coming out of the meeting, Bose told media persons that he had explained everything to the chief minister. He expressed confidence that Jagan Mohan Reddy would take the right decision at the right time. He said he is confident of a decision in his favour.

This would mean that Jagan Mohan Reddy did not resolve the issue, pending the decision. The decision to be taken at a later date means that the dispute would continue in the days to come, further damaging the prospects of the party.

NIA court dismisses Jagan’s petition on conspiracy

0

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) court in Vijayawada on Tuesday dismissed the petition of AP chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy seeking further investigation into the attack on him in Visakhapatnam airport, popularly known as Kodi Katti Case.

Jagan Mohan Reddy’s advocate filed a petition seeking further investigation into the case exploring controversy into the whole incident. The advocate told the court that there must be a major conspiracy behind the attack on Jagan Mohan Reddy. The advocate wanted the court to direct the NIA to investigate into the involvement of other persons in the case.

However, the court dismissed the petition stating that no further investigation is required in the case. The court posted the case for its next hearing on August 1, 2023.

The court also posted the bail petition of accused Srinivas in the case to August 1, 2023. The court said that it would hear both the case and the bail petition on the same day.

The advocate for Srinivas told the court that the accused has been in jail for the past four years. Coming to the court for every hearing had become difficult even for the jail authorities, the advocate said.

The judge called the Rajamahendravaram central jail superintendent to know the difficulties in bringing the accused from the jail to the court for every hearing. The superintendent also told the judge that online hearing for the accused from the jail was not possible.

However, the judge posted the case for August 1 for next hearing and asked the advocates to come prepared for both the case and the bail petition for the accused.

Jagan marketing medical seats for crores of rupees, says Lokesh

0

TDP general secretary, Nara Lokesh, on Monday said that Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, is marketing the medical seats for hefty amounts that are to be allocated for the Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs), Backward Classes (BCs) and Minorities.

Addressing a huge public meeting at Cheemakurthy of combined Prakasam district as part of his pada yatra on Monday, Lokesh recalled the statement made by Jagan that he would make the SCs, STs, BCs and Minorities as doctors at free of cost and the State Government will bear the total expenditure irrespective of the amount to be spent. “Now, Jagan is marketing these medical seats in the open market for crores of rupees,” Lokesh remarked.

Till now the fees for a convener quota medical seat if a mere Rs 15,000 per annum and now these seats are being sold at Rs 20 lakh per annum, Lokesh said. Each medical seat costs Rs 1 cr, that too in a government college, Lokesh said and asked can a candidate from SC, ST, BC and Minorities communities pay this much amount.

The reply of the Minister for Medical and Health, Rajnni, is very funny on this, he said. “Such huge amount of fees for the medical seats is being charged only to prevent the students from migrating to other countries,” is the funniest reply of the Minister when asked why so much is being collected from students, Lokesh noted.

Observing that all the schemes announced in the name of ‘Bhavishaythuku Guarantee’ will be implemented once the TDP forms the next government, Lokesh told the farmers not to accept metres to motors. “Firmly resist it and the TDP will stand by you all,” he said.

Pointing out that false cases are being registered against BCs during the YSRCP rule, Lokesh said once the TDP is back in the government all such cases will be lifted. Also, funds will be allocated to the BCs as per their population ratio, he said.

Maintaining that Jagan has a share of Rs 50 cr in the one cent land distribution, Lokesh said that Rs 10,000 each was collected from the beneficiaries through volunteers. Even the posts in various government departments are being sold at heavy price, the TDP general secretary said.

Lokesh promised to lift all the cases that are filed against the TP leaders and activists immediately after the TDP is into power. Lokesh also strongly condemned the charge that if the TDP is back in power the State will not have sufficient rains, Lokesh said wherever he steps in that particular area is experiencing heavy downpour.

Later, when the handloom workers in a memorandum pointed out that they are not getting subsidy for power, Lokesh promised to take it up once the TDP forms the next government. Loans on subsidy too will be sanctrioned to them, he said.

Amaravati farmers hold protest as Jagan lays foundation stone for houses

1

The farmers of the Amaravati villages on Monday held a protest in their villages as chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy laid the foundation stone for the weaker sections housing in the capital. The farmers have been opposing distribution of the capital lands for the weaker sections against the AP CRDA rules.

They have even gone to the supreme court from the high court against the state government’s decision to give house sites to 50,000 families from the weaker sections. The supreme court had dismissed their petition and upheld the state government’s decision.

Taking advantage of the supreme court order, the state government took another step and had worked out the plans to start construction of houses. Jagan Mohan Reddy laid the foundation stone for these houses and started distribution of house site pattas to the beneficiaries.

As the chief minister was laying the foundation stone, the farmers of Amaravati held a protest in Venkatapalem and Errubalem opposing the state government’s move. They held black flags against the programme and even released black balloons into the air to register their protest.

The farmers alleged that the chief minister was destroying Amaravati, which was decided by the previous government as the capital city of the state. They said that the previous government had taken their lands in pooling to build the capital, while the present government was destroying all those plans.

They also alleged that distribution of house site pattas and construction of houses for the weaker sections would not stand before the courts as it amounted to betrayal of the farmers. They asked the state government to fulfil the promises of the previous government and the conditions laid by the government in the CRDA rules to build Amaravati as the capital.

Your father asked you not to enter State, Lokesh reminds Jagan

1

Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy’s own father, late Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy, had asked him not to step into the State and this clearly reflects how bad his character is, remarked Nara Lokesh, TDP general secretary, on Saturday.

Addressing a public meeting at Podili in Markapur Assembly segment of the combined Prakasam district during his Yuva Galam pada yatra, Lokesh said that it is highly ridiculous that a criminal talking about character. “It is not my father who asked me not to enter the State but it is your father who strictly ordered you not to step into the State,” Lokesh remarked.

Not only this, Jagan eased his own sister and mother out of his house and termed the killing of his own paternal uncle as a heart stroke, Lokesh said. Jagan has deceived women by not fulfilling the promise made before elections that total prohibition will be imposed if he comes to power, the TDP general secretary observed.

Stating that soon after forming the next government the TDP is planning to launch several welfare programmes in the name of ‘Bhavishaythuku Guarantee’, Lokesh declared that Rs 3,000 per month will be paid to the jobless youth till they get employment. Observing that all the pending posts will be filed immediately after the TDP forms the next government, he said that funds will be allocated to every community as per their population ratio.

Earlier the villagers of Pothavaram narrated their problems to Lokesh that during the Ganesh immersion the local YSRCP leaders attacked them. while cases were registered against them for no fault of theirs. Responding to the villagers, Lokesh said that during Jagan’s rule there is a new trend that cases are being booked against the victims.

“Immediately the TDP is back in power, all such cases will be lifted and a detailed inquiry will be ordered into such incidents,” Lokesh said, adding that the culprits will be taken to task.

When the citizens of the fourth ward of Podili, in a memorandum explained various issues, Lokesh said that the Chief Minister, who is expected to provide basic amenities to the people, including supply of drinking water, is simply ignoring them. Soon after the TDP is back in power all their problems will be resolved on a war-footing basis, Lokesh added.

Fear of losing power haunting Jagan, says Kanna

1

As the fear of losing power is haunting Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy, he has been stooping so low and resorting to personal criticism of the leaders from various Opposition parties, said former minister and TDP leader, Kanna Laxminarayana, on Saturday.

The condition of Jagan is so bad that except resorting to personal attacks on the leaders of Opposition parties, he could not claim that he has done something great for the State, remarked Kanna Laxminarayana while talking to media persons at the party headquarters. Jagan, who exploited his mother and own sister, shamelessly finding fault with others, the former minister said.

The Chief Minister is misusing the platforms of public meetings organised with public funds, he said. Is it not a fact that those who are now sailing with Jagan had earlier pointed fingers at him when his father, late Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy, was the chief minister, Kanna Laxminarayana asked.

The Chief Minister is using highly objectionable language in the public meetings against women, farmers, students and even kids, he said. There are no instances of Jagan coming to the rescue of the farming community though the farmers are incurring heavy losses in agriculture, the TDP leader said.

Never in the past four years has the Chief Minister extended a helping hand to the farmers of tobacco, chilli and other commercial crops though they have been facing troubles due to lack of minimum support price, Kanna Laxminarayana observed. The Chief Minister and his Cabinet colleagues are simply looting the State and all of them are scared of facing the public with a fear of being questioned, he said.

Kanna Laximinarayana demanded Jagan to come out with facts on what he has done to the State and people before approaching the public for votes. The people are eagerly waiting for an opportunity to send Jagan home, he added.

Jagan loses cool, hits Pawan, TDP leaders hard

0

Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Friday looked as if he lost control of himself when he was addressing a public meeting in Venkatagiri of Tirupati district. He hit his critics hard for their remarks against the volunteers. Jagan Mohan Reddy said that the remarks against the volunteers were uncharitable and baseless.

He took Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan to task for making human trafficking charges against the volunteers. He said that a man who had two wives and lived with another without divorcing was not talking about women’s safety and security. He wondered how a man who had no respect for wife could talk about other women.

Jagan also referred to TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh for having fun with women in swimming pools and was talking about women safety. He alleged that the leader was seen drinking and having fun with ten women and the videos are available on YouTube.

Jagan also dragged TDP MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna and recalled how the MLA had made derogatory remarks against women at a film function. He said that these leaders were making allegations of women trafficking against the volunteers and the state government.

Meanwhile, TDP and Jana Sena leaders took strong exception to the chief minister’s remarks against their leaders. The TDP leaders said that Jagan Mohan Reddy was losing his cool as he realised the increasing anti-incumbency in the state.

The aggressive talk was out of frustration, the TDP leaders said, and it was a sign of defeat of the YSR Congress in the 2024 general election.

The TDP leaders said that Jagan Mohan Reddy was slowly realising his defeat and was not able to digest the criticism.
