Of late, Tamil directors are inclining towards Tollywood. Talented directors of Tamil industry and renowned production houses are showing interest to work with our Telugu heroes. Murugadoss, one of the leading directors in Tamil, is currently working with Superstar Prince Mahesh Babu for a big budget bilingual film. Recently, Allu Arjun announced his next project with Tamil director Linguswamy which will be bankrolled by Studio Green banner.
Telugu stars are also evincing interest to work with Tamil directors as they are looking to expand their fan base and increase the market for their films. Some of recent big ticket Telugu films have performed very well in Tamil Nadu. Also, our heroes are drawing huge attention from the audience while shooting in the state. Stars like NTR, Allu Arjun and Mahesh Babu are carrying good fan base among the Tamil audience.
Young Tamil director Atlee is also waiting for the nod from Mahesh Babu and NTR. Few months ago, he has narrated a line to Mahesh Babu and got a positive nod from him. But, nothing has been finalized till now. Also, it is being heard that the Raja Rani director is working on a script for NTR. It remains to be seen which project will go on floors first. It is also heard that a couple of Tamil remakes which are in discussion stages are likely to be helmed by Tamil directors with Telugu stars in the lead roles.
One should consider this as a good omen for Tollywood because Tamil directors are popular for handling realistic elements with a good cinematic rhythm. So, we can expect more promising movies from our star heroes.
