It is normal practice for the political parties to mobilise unemployed youth and organise dharnas and rallies with them demanding the government of the day to provide employment avenues or at least employment allowances. But for a change, the BJP leadership in Telangana has decided to organise a `Job Mela’ in Hyderabad on December 11.

Ofcourse, it seems the leadership intention was to `expose’ Telangana government’s failure in meeting aspirations of the unemployed youth and to highlight Narendra Modi government’s initiatives towards skill development aiming at making youth as `employer’ instead of becoming an `employee’.

The first such `Job Mela’ will be conducted at Osmania University PG Law College, located in Nizam College premises. According to former MLC and state BJP leader K Dileep Kumar about 40 to 50 companies like Kotak Bank, Big Basket, and Flipkart would be hiring eligible candidates on this occasion.

The party is also expecting that the companies will give offer letters to about 300 candidates on the same day. The youth with qualification from SSC to B Tech can attend the job mela.

Indicating that the party want to makes it a regular exercise, Dileep Kumar said that there will be a provision for registration of unsuccessful candidates. The candidates who could not clear the interview can register themselves in the registration counter for career counseling. Soon a skill development career counseling Centre would be started at Begumpet.

In this regard, BJP highlighting the negligent attitude of the Telangana Chief Minister K Chaddrasekhar Rao by not releasing funds for the skill development centers in the state. Dileep Kumar said the Centre gave Rs 170 crore for skill development centres but the state government did not release the matching grant.

Though the neighbouring Andhra Pradesh government released Rs 300 crore, he deplored there is no similar effort by the Telangana government. Andhra Pradesh has separate Skill Development Council. For some reason Telangana government was not taking enough steps. Though there is a Skill Council there are no funds, added.
