The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) is gearing up for its second phase of agitation 10-day `Jana Avedana Sammelanam’, against the anti-people policies of the TRS government in the state and BJP-led NDA government at the Centre. Responding to the AICC directive, the party is preparing to organise ‘Jana Avedana Sammelanam’ in all the 119 Assembly constituencies of Telangana.

It will be launched with a massive public meeting in Nizamabad on February 19. Similar meetings will be held in old 10 districts of Telangana, covering about 10 Assembly segments. Besides exposing the failures of Central and State governments, local issues will also be highlighted.

TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy alleged that both Narendra Modi and K Chandrasekhar Rao were making new announcements every day without taking any steps to implement them. He said both the governments had failed to resolve the problems being faced by the people. He expressed concern that all sections of society were badly hit due to demonetisation and there was no respite even after three months.

As against the promise of giving 2 crore new jobs, he pointed out that the Central government gave jobs to only 77,000 people. He alleged that the Prime Minister was misleading the country with catchy slogans like Make in India, Skill India, Start Up India and Digital India. “The real development process has come to a halt since the BJP-led government took over at the Centre,” he added.

The former minister deplored that the situation in Telangana was no better as the Chief Minister neglecting the development and people’s welfare. He accused that the TRS government had failed to put pressure on the Centre on fulfilling the promises made to Telangana at the time of bifurcation. He also said the Centre did not give Integrated Wagon Factory at Khazipet or the required funds for the Information Technology Investment Region (ITIR), which were approved by the previous UPA regime.
