Sankranthi 2022 season proved once again that the Tollywood audience are the best and they are not worried about the pandemic. A section of audience showed no interest to watch films in theatres but the rest of them rushed to watch the Sankranthi releases. This is a huge relief for the Tollywood filmmakers. Biggies like RRR and Radhe Shyam can only release after all the markets are reopened as they are pan-Indian attempts. Several Tollywood biggies are aiming summer release and the discussions are currently going on.
If the wave of Omicron variant reaches the peaks in February, things would turn normal by April predicts the producers. Megastar Chiranjeevi’s upcoming movie Acharya is announced for April 1st release. The makers of Pawan Kalyan’s Bheemla Nayak are keen to release the film on February 25th but the film may be pushed for summer release. Movies like Major, Khiladi and others are not pushed from February race and the final call would be taken soon. Films like F3, Sarkaru Vaari Paata, Thank You, Ghani and others are aiming summer release for now. Tollywood is confident in getting back to the track with a bunch of releases during summer 2022.
