Victory Venkatesh and Naga Chaitanya starrer Venky Mama was supposed to hit the screens this October. The shooting formalities have been wrapped up long back. But, the makers have deferred it’s release due to Megastar Chiranjeevi’s SyeRaa Narasimha Reddy. After missing out Dusheera, Venky Mama team considered mid November for release. However, they couldn’t risk and release it during off season. As Christmas season is jam packed with few other prominent films on track for release, Venky Mama team had no option but to move the film to Sankranthi season.
Sankranthi season is fully occupied with biggies like Sarileru Neekevvaru, Ala Vaikunthapurramloo and medium budget films like Yenthamanchivaduvura getting ready for release. Venky Mama will face heavy competition from these films during Sankranthi season and might get limited attention from audience as well. The promos and posters with ample dose of festive vibes in Venky Mama make it a perfect film for a festival season. Also, festival like Dussehra can easily accommodate two big Telugu releases. By missing out a crucial festival season, Venky Mama team ideally lost a golden opportunity to garner the attention of family audience.
Now, they will need to vie with other biggies during Sankranthi to emerge as winner at box office. Directed by Bobby, the film has Rashi khanna and Payal Rajput as female leads.
