It is known news that, Tamil Film Industry has boycotted the Filmfare Awards ceremony. The ‘Nadigar Sangham’ requested Filmfare a donation for senior actors’ pension. But Filmfare refused to give any amount. So, Nadigar Sangam requested Kollywood actors to boycott the award ceremony. Nayanathara, Karthi, Simbu, Khushbu etc all obliged this request and absented for Filmfare awards ceremony.
Vishal thanked them through twitter, as he tweeted – “I sincerely thank @NayantharaU @Karthi_Offl, #simbu, @khushsundar n other friends for understanding the associations sentiments n policy n not attending da award function though they wer winners.big thanks. Dis iniatitive is jus to generate money for our senior artistes pension gb”
This is 5th Filmfare award and 3rd consecutive award for Nayanathara as best actor. She got awards for Sri Rama Rajyam, Raja Rani, Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, Iru Mugan and Aramm.
