Nandamuri Suhasini, daughter of Nandamuri harikrishna and sister of star hero junior NTR, is lagging behind TRS candidate Madhavaram Krishna Rao. As per the current trend it is almost clear that she will be losing this seat unless a miracle happens in the upcoming rounds. What does the result of the much hyped Kukatpally constituency say?
Why lot of hype on Kukatpally?
There are couple of factors that contributed for the hype of Nandamuri Suhasini’s prospects in this constituency. The first one is Kukatpally was a strong hold of TDP. Even in corporate elections in which TDP lost in all the areas, won in Kukatpally constituency. Also sitting MLA Madhavaram Krishna Rao was TDP candidate in 2014 which also prove that TDP has big base over here. Another factor that contributed for the hype on Nandamuri Suhasini’s prospects is her family background. Many analysts pointed that this is a master stroke from TDP supremo Chandrababu Naidu as he fielded someone from Nandamuri family. In Mahaa News channel, senior editor I. Venkat Rao opined that, after Chandrababu announced Nandamuri Suhasini in Kukatpally constituency, that impact give a big boost to at least 4-6 constituencies for TDP around Hyderabad region. But now, this analysis proved wrong.
All settlers are not TDP Voters:M/strong>
However, ground report in Kukatpally was always different than what was analysed in TV channels. There are couple of things this result revealed now. The first thing is that all the settlers are not TDP voters. Because while analysing Kukatpally constituency which is like mini Andhra Pradesh with most of the settler votes, many people take it for granted that these settlers will always vote for TDP. They fail to recognise the fact that there are several people who are fans of other Andhra Pradesh parties like YSR CP and Janasena. Kapu voters played decisive role:
Moreover as per the caste statistics in this constituency, this area has considerable population of Kapus, who played crucial role in deciding the fate of this constituency. There were even news that during Kapu vanabhojanam events they resolved to support TRS this time as Pawan Kalyan is going agonist TDP in Andhra Pradesh. Did it prove anti incumbency on TDP among Andhras?
As Kukatpally is always called as mini Andhra Pradesh, their opinion usually will reflect the opinion of people in Andhra Pradesh also. If we go by that logic, this may indicate anti incumbency on Chandrababu Naidu and his TDP party among the people of Andhra origin in Kukatpally. but it is not 100% correct to say that the same opinion will reflect in Andhra Pradesh election results because it is too early to come to such conclusion.
