YSRCP former MLAs — Katamreddy Vishnuvardhan Reddy and Vanteru Venugopal Reddy– left YS Jaganmohan Reddy and this has created a lot of speculation over it in the Nelloru district.
Katamreddy family is playing a vital role in Nelluru district politics. After the death of Katamreddy Adinarayana Reddy, his son Vishnuvardhan Reddy entered politics and won three times on Congress ticket from Alluru and Kavali constituencies. He was very close associate of YS Rajasekhara Reddy and joined YSRCP. However, Vishnuvardhan Reddy is said to have been in discomfort state with YS Jaganmohan Reddy, who worked for YSRCP Ramireddy Pratapkumar Reddy’s win in 2014 elections.
“After winning the Assembly election, differences grew between Ramireddy and Vishnuvardhan Reddy. Despite several humiliations, Vishunvardhan Reddy has been continuing in YSRCP. When the ticket was denied to Vishnuvardhan Reddy, he maintained diplomacy,” said a source.
Coming to Vanteru Venugopal Reddy was facing political rivalry of Magunta family as Magunta Parvatamma, when she was Kavali MLA, irked him on several occasions. After merging of few mandals from old Kavali constituency into Udayagiri Assembly constituency, Vanteru has been facing tough time in local politics. Vanteru is trying for Kavali or Udayagiri tikect. Local party cadres say that Vanteru’s instability is a major block for his victory. “Vanteru for several years worked against TDP. Despite this, TDP always encouraged him. This time also he may get TDP ticket. Let’s wait,” said a source.
