The political parties came under lot of restrictions on account of election code already in effect since Sunday evening. The election officials asked the political parties leaders to strictly abide by the code guidelines. Especially, the ruling party leaders are asked not to use the form government vehicles till the elections are over.
Chief electoral officer Rajat Kumar said all the flexis, banners and political posters from the government properties and offices within 24 hours. Such political campaign material should also removed from private vehicles if there is no permission from the election officials.
As per the guidelines, the elected representatives should not announce new schemes or projects any more because of the code.
