BRS MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy was arrested by Police on Saturday at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Samshabad in Hyderabad. He was arrested on the charges of threatening and extorting a mining company owner.
The Warangal Police arrested MLA Kaushik Reddy and took him to Subedari Police Station, amid high drama.
With the arrest of firebrand MLA, Telangana politics revolved around the event on Saturday with BRS alleging vendetta politics by Congress Govt.
“CM Revanth Reddy keeps saying Congress will bring back Indiramma Palana (Indira Gandhi’s era). They are bringing back Indira era’s Emergency. From farmers to Opposition leaders, Govt is arresting and threatening everyone who is questioning Revanth Reddy Sarkar,” said Opposition senior Harish Rao, condemning Kaushik Reddy’s arrest.
BRS working president KT Rama Rao commenting on Kaushik Reddy’s arrest came down heavily on Revanth Reddy Sarkar, proclaiming that arrests and suppression will not stop BRS cadres fight against Congress Government’s failures.
While BRS leaders are alleging vendetta politics, Congress leaders are clarifying that Kaushik Reddy was arrested on the complaint of mining company owner’s wife, as he had threatened them and ruling party has nothing to do with it.
