Opposition leader Jaganmohan Reddy has created a dubious record by not attending the Assembly sessions during the past four and half years. He has not even cared to attend the present session for Vote on Account budget though it came just a few months ahead of general election. Is this willful absenteeism going to be a big disadvantage? Analysts say that Jagan has made a tactical blunder by resorting to this which is more or less making a mockery of democratic institutions.

There are some people who say even YS Rajasekhara Reddy used to be very punctual in attending the Assembly session when he was in the opposition. But Jagan has not cared to give respect to the people’s mandate by taking part in the debates and discussions on their issues in the Assembly, which is a sort of a temple of democracy. The TDP has once again taken objection to Jagan’s attitude for not coming forward to attend this budget session which will be held till February 8.

In this session, the Assembly is going to discuss the promises that were made to AP at the time of separate state formation and how injustice was done to the state in the last four and half years. The Assembly will also take up debate on declaration of it as a black day against the continued betrayal of AP’s interests.
