Two former Congress woman ministers today asked Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to tell people how minister Tummala Nageswarao, who opposed Telangana, became his lieutenant.
Writing a open letter to the TRS party, former ministers Sabita Indra Reddy and Sunitha Lakshma Reddy said CM KCR owed an explanation to the people of the state about Tummala’s contribution to T-state.

Condemning the way chief minister KCR was promoting former TDP leader and now party’s candidate in Palair Assembly byelection, they said how would KCR make Tummala MLC even though he was rejected in 2014 elections while denying the MLC nomination to the mother of Telangana martyr Srikantachary.

“You (KCR) had fielded mother of Srikantachary to contest from a seat where there was no guarantee of TRS win. people would have appreciated, if you had nominated her as MLC if you were really seriously thinking of honoring the sacrifices of youth, who self-immolated for Telangana state. But, you chose to nominate Tummala, who openly worked against Telangana state. You owe an explanation to the people,” they asked.

Wondering as to how 10 ministers and 60 MLAs would campaign in a small constituency like Palair to defeat Congress woman candidate Sucharita Reddy, the former ministers said it clearly showed the strength of Congress.

They took strong objection to CM’s statement that the government had spent crores of rupees on the treatment of Palair MLA Ramreddy Venkata Reddy. They reminded the CM that it was the responsibility of the government to care of the treatment as Venkata Reddy was not only an MLA, he was also heading the Public Accounts Committee in the rank of a cabinet minister.

“The united Andhra Pradesh Assembly started a convention of ensuring the family member of deceased MLA unopposed. People would have appreciated had you continued the tradition. But, has tradition not only been discontinued after formation of Telangana, government machinery and authority has been misused by the ruling party to defeat Sucharita Reddy, wife Venkata Reddy,” they alleged. Venkata Reddy’s death caused the ongoing byelection.

The reminded the CM how he had denied even appointment to Sucharita Reddy when she wanted to call on him after her husband’s death.

They warned the TRS that Palair people would apply breaks to the misrule of KCR and his coterie in Telangana.
