Legendary music composer AR Rahman has won an Oscar for the country. He has several films lined up. AR Rahman is the music composer for the mythological film Ramayana which is mounted on a lavish scale. The first installment of the film will release during Diwali this year and AR Rahman started working on the background score. Rumors say that AR Rahman is charging Rs 30 crores as remuneration for the film. If this is true, AR Rahman will emerge as the highest paid music composer of the country till date.

It is unknown if this is the remuneration for both the parts or for the single part. AR Rahman’s score for the recently released teaser received wide applause. The makers are busy with the post-production work. Ramayana is directed by Nitesh Tiwari and the film features Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, Sai Pallavi and Sunny Deol in the lead roles. Namit Malhotra is the producer. Ramayana is made on a budget of Rs 4000 crores including both the parts.
