Tamil actor Dhanush has refused to undergo DNA Test in connection with the paternity case filed by an elderly Madhurai couple a few months ago.
In the latest development on the case, the Madhurai couple who had earlier filed a petition claiming Dhanush to be their biological son, filed another petition requesting for a DNA test to prove that they truly are the national award winning actor’s parents.
When the case came up for hearing in the Madras High Court on Tuesday, Dhanush’s lawyer said that his client was against the idea of undergoing for a DNA test. He added that the actor has nothing to hide and that his integrity and self-esteem should not be tested on the behest of frivolous cases.
“Dhanush has already provided enough evidences to prove the claims of the elderly couple false. Even the recent medical test conducted on Dhanush to identify the birthmarks didn’t prove anything. How many more tests my client has to undergo to prove his identity. This is pure violation of his right to privacy,” argued Dhanush’s lawyer.
Upon hearing the arguments of both sides, the judge reserved his verdict and didn’t even mention the next hearing date.
