While the counting of votes is in progress , Prof Gali Vinod Kumar, the candidate sponsored by Left parties for Warangal Lok Sabha constituency byelection, demanded reelection in the constituency in view of rampant money distribution and liquor supply by both ruling and other opposition parties alike.

He said these parties had subverted democratic process in the byelection and hindered free and fail election in the constituency. Even though his defeat seems certain, he said, it was a moral victory for him over all the parties, which resorted to all illegal and anti-democratic methods to win the election.” Both ruling TRS and opposition parties openly distributed money and liquor. However, entire state machinery, including the election commission, was turned blind eye to these practices much to the surprise of the supporters democracy,” the law professor from Osmania University wondered. Even while contesting the elections, there had been some cooperation among these parties, he said adding that he had enough proof for this unholy alliance of political parties. ” Neither election commission, nor the police machinery tried to prevent the subversion electoral process. It was the election of money and the liquor. I am forced to support the Maoists to call for boycott the elections as parties were depending on money and liquor for votes,” he said.

Stating that he would not quit the politics scared having seen the way the election were held, Prof Vinod Kumar said he would contest from same constituency in 2019 general election again. ” On April 14, 2016 We are forming Ambedkar Army to fight against the anti-people policies of the government and for the justice for the poor. Finally we will contest the election in 2019,” he said. Alleging that every party had spent money in the byelection like water, Vinod Kumar said he had borrowed Rs 7 lakhs from a finance company and asked a donation of Rs 1 from each voter who wanted to vote for him to meet the expenditure
