The TRS in Telangana has another reason to worry now. KCR’s best friend and Trinamool Congress chief Mamta Banerjee is trying to enter into Telugu politics, especially in Telagnana. Mamta Didi is now trying to expand her footprint across the country. Already she has set up active units in Goa Meghalaya, Tripura, Assam and Manipur. Now she wants to foray into other states as well. That is now turning out to be a problem for KCR.
Highly placed sources say that she has sent a survey team to assess the political scene in several south Indian states and the reports say that Telangana would be favourable for the TMC. It is also learnt that she has sent a five-member team to meet political leaders who are unhappy in their respective parties. If sources are to be believed, the five-member team has met several Congress and TRS leaders.
Many Congress leaders who are unhappy with the appointment of Revanth Reddy as the TPCC chief are said to have got in touch with the team. Similarly, the team has also met some TRS MPs, MLAs and other leaders. TRS Though the TRS leaders claimed that these were mere courtesy calls, the party still is said to be suspicious.
Highly placed sources say that the TMC is in touch with former MP Konda Visweswara Reddy, who has deep connections in all the parties, including the BJP. Though there is no official confirmation, Reddy is believed to have the money power needed to organise the TMC in Telangana.
