The BJP and YCP leaders made a costly mistake apparently by commenting on the debts of the Andhra Pradesh government. Their plans to embarrass the TDP backfired totally. Now PM Modi is being brought into the picture. It’s his tough stance that is being held responsible for the rising debts of the AP state. At a crucial juncture, the Modi government at the Centre stopped releasing funds to AP. It openly flouted the norms and gave almost a shock treatment to the TDP government.

In the last one year, AP couldn’t get hundreds of crores while other states received their dues fully. Modi took his political revenge against Chandrababu Naidu on AP people. Consequently, the AP government had to mobilise funds from within the state. The historic Amaravati capital city construction requires thousands of crores. Massive works are going on there. Modi is not releasing the Centre’s share. As per state reorganization promises, the Centre should give maximum financial support for capital. Polavaram project also is one aspect in which Modi government totally took a negative stance by stopping funds flow. The TDP is asking Modi to explain to AP people how his government helped AP state to recover from Rs 16000 cr deficit budget.
