However, very few would know that Madhavan approached Mani Ratnam for the role of Prakash Raj in the film Iruvar but Mani Ratnam had to reject the actor because Maddy looked too young (and adorable) for such challenging role! However, the director gave a word to Maddy that he would definitely do a film in the near future and that’s how Alaipayuthey materialized.
