Acting on a tip-off, the Hyderabad police and the National Investigation Agency (NIA) sleuths sieved through some suspected locations in Old City of Hyderabad and picked up about 11 youngsters, who were reportedly all set to join the terror camp of Islamic State, for quizzing in the last 24 hours.

The suspects were allegedly plotting attacks on shopping malls and crowded places in the city. Two airguns and a pistol, explosives, electronic devices and Rs 15 lakh cash were recovered during the searches conducted simultaneously in six sensitive places, suggests a report.

The youngsters, including some software professionals, were allegedly in touch with IS handlers operating from outside India by extensively using social network sites, especially Facebook. It may be recalled that an IS module comprising six persons from Hyderabad was busted during the country-wide raids by the NIA three months ago.

Some of the arrested youth were practicing with airguns in Bandlaguda and Chandrayangutta areas as part of suspected preparations for bloodshed, it is learnt.
