Moviegoers in the Cinemark theatre in Fairfax, Virginia, were delighted to see Rajinikanth turning up for the special screening of his recently released gangster drama, Kabali. It is well known that noted overseas film company Cine Galaxy is distributing Kabali all over the US. A special screening of the film was held by the distribution house in Virginia and it was graced by Rajinikanth and his daughter,Aishwarya.
Reportedly, the audience in the theatre were stunned with Rajinikanth’s surprise visit and they gave him a standing ovation. It is learnt that Rajinikanth was completely bowled over by the amazing response and the enthusiasm show by the moviegoers while watching the film. Kabali has created massive records with its opening day figures in all areas of its release. In overseas, Kabali punched out $2.7 Million on its first day( including premiers ) and set up an opening day record for an Indian movie. Despite poor word of mouth and below par web reviews, Kabali amassed promising figures on the first two days.
Directed by Ranjith Pa, the film features Radhika Apte as the female lead. Kalaipuli S Thanu is the producer.
