Telangana CM K Chandrasekhara Rao made sensational comments on the TSRTC strike. He described the demand for RTC merger with the government as a dumb and ignorant one. How can it be done? KCR said that in the state, there are over 57 corporations just like the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation. Would the government be able to merge all these corporations if similar demands come up?
KCR said that whoever gave this idea, the RTC employees leaders took up this dumb demand. Right now, Telangana state is also under the impact of recession which is causing serious financial strain. KCR said that at such a difficult time, his government has proposed commercial sale of prime properties of the RTC all over the state. This will not be stopped whatever be the opposition from the employees or the organisations.
KCR further said that the RTC employees’ salaries were increased by 67 per cent in over 4 years. But still they are coming out with crazy wishes again and again. Every time there is an election, it has become routine for the RTC unions to make such unreasonable demands.
