Leaders of ruling TDP and opposition YSRCP resorted to blows over getting fancy registration number for a vehicle, which led to rucks at the regional transport office in Vuyyuru of Krishna district, near Vijayawada. As TDP MLC Y V B Rajendra Prasad, known for his fiery verbal attacks against opposition parties, was involved in this incident, it has raised political temperatures.

Competition for a fancy registration number for a vehicle created uproar has generated political heat at the regional transport office at Vuyyuru in Krishna district, two days ago. However, the incident came to light only yesterday, when leaders of both the parties raises accusations against each other.

Rucks begin with YSRCP follower Vinay Kumar made a bid for Rs 30,000 at RTO office, Vuyyuru to get AP 16 DD 7777 number for his vehicle. Meanwhile, Konda Praveen Kumar, one of the followers of MLC Rajendra Prasad also wanted the same fancy number and made a bid. This has led to uproar between two leaders.Tension prevailed for a while at the RTO office as both the party leaders exchanged heated arguments.

Earlier, the TDP followers allegedly threatened a few, who came to make a bid for the same number. Most stayed away from the competition fearing pressures from the ruling party workers. At one point, the TDP leaders also allegedly threatened to kidnap Vinay Kumar for competing for the same fancy number.

Meanwhile, YSRCP spokesperson Ambati Rambabu alleged that MLC Rajendra Prasad resorted to misuse of power and threatened one Raviraj in abusive language, who recorded the incident at the RTO office, and also threw his mobile on the floor.

The former MLA accused that instead of focusing on development in their constituencies, ruling party leaders are keen on attacking Vinay Kumar, who made a bid for a fancy registration number for his vehicle. He demanded that police should take stern action against the MLC for attacking the Opposition leaders.

However, Rajendra Prasad disputing their claims said that YSRCP leaders are resorting to mudslinging against him for narrow political gains. He said that one of his followers participated in the auction at RTO office, Vuyyuru for a fancy number. “None of my followers resorted to jostling and they just exchanged heated arguments,” he said. Later, Finally, Praveen Kumar got the fancy number for Rs 62,000 in the auction conducted by the transport officials in a transparent manner.
