Once a legendary combination – Maestro Ilayaraja and renowed singer SP Balasubramanyam are no longer in good terms. Here is what happened :-
SP Balasubramanyam, who completed a staggering feat of 50 glorious years as singer, is currently on a world tour to give a thanksgiving concert in countries like Russia, Singapore, Malaysia, Srilanka and Dubai to name a few. He along with singers Chitra and Charan have been entertaining the audience by performing compositions of various musicians.
Few days back, Illayaraja sent legal notices to SPB and his troupe for performing his songs without prior permission. All the organisers and managements of all venues too have received notices from Illayaraja not to host the concerts which feature his compositions. SPB responded on this issue in a modest way through his social media blog and said that his troupe has refrained from performing Illayaraja’s songs.
SPB said that he will obey the notice and will continue his tour by performing other singers compositions.
