Opposition YSRCP termed the TDP’s Jana Chaitanya Yatra a gimmick. Party SC Cell state president Meruga Nagarjuna said instead of coming to the rescue of drought affected and flood affected farmes, the ruling party chose to celebrate the leadership of Naidu in times of crisis.”They (TDP government ) are unable to tackle either drought or floods. Farmers are affected severely by natural calamities because Naidu’s government lacked a policy on meeting such eventualities,,”he said.
“The government should buy the discolored paddy and provide seed for the second crop free of cost through the AP Seeds Corporation. Farmers are crying for help when TDP cadre are on door-to-door campaign praising leadership qualities of Naidu,” Nagarjuna said and added that though the agriculture minister hails from Guntur district, he had not done anything to alleviate hardships of farmers and other sections of the people.
