Uppena trashed all the existing records of medium and small budget films in Telugu cinema and those featuring debutants. The film also received a mixed response on day one but the numbers are exceptional. After winning the weekend test, Uppena stood super strong on its first Monday and minted massive revenues.
Uppena registered packed houses from A to C centres on Monday which indicates that the film is a blockbuster. The film passed the crucial Monday test by miles. Directed by Buchi Babu, Uppena marked the debut of Vaisshnav Tej, Krithi Shetty in the lead roles. Vijay Sethupathi is the lead antagonist and Mythri Movie Makers are the producers.
