Tollywood’s latest runaway hit Geetha Govindam, which has already emerged as a triple blockbuster, extended its dream run at overseas box office as new releases took a terrible start in the just concluded weekend.
After a steady run on weekdays, Geetha Govindam notched up a terrific $ 310K from Friday to Sunday to break into the prestigious $ 2 Million club in overseas. The romantic entertainer is now the 9th highest grossing Telugu film of all time. It has surpassed the life time collections of films like Agnyaathavaasi, Nannaku Prematho and Fidaa.
Last Friday releases Neevevero and Aatagallu had a terrible first weekend in overseas. Both films failed to make an impact at box office as audience thoroughly rejected them due to the poor word of mouth and negative reviews. While Neevevero managed to collect a meagre $ 60K in the first weekend, Aatagallu collected an embarrassing $ 3.5 K during the same period.
