Five Films, inclusive of two dubbed ones, will hit the theaters this weekend, out of which @Nartanasala is a Notable release and PaperBoy which depends largely on word of mouth. Among dubbed titles, CoCo Kokila is having a decent release whereas Crime 23 is having a limited release.
Geetha Govindam which is already a Blockbuster is set to take #1 spot for the third consecutive weekend. The film should actually have competition from ‘@Nartanasala’ which released today but the damage has already been done with poor opening and poor reports. Infact Geetha Govindam has better collections than ‘@Nartanasala’ in many centres today ie, it’s opening day which is a bit unexpected by the trade and also means it will have also have an upper hand during the weekend
Naga Shourya’s ‘@Nartanasala’ which has opened in nearly 500 theatres in domestic markets today is off to very poor start. As we have compared earlier, the collections in many centres are less than two weeks old Geetha Govindam which tells how poor the film has opened. Now the film will fight for a decent total over the weekend which looks unlikely going by the reports. Domestic theatrical rights of the film are valued at 8 Crores which is highest ever for the hero.
Santosh Shoban’s debut film Paperboy and Nayanatara’s CoCo Kokila which is a dub of Tamil Superhit ‘Kolamaavu Kokila will fight for the third place. The former is releasing in over 200 theatres while the later is releasing in over 150 theatres. Both the films will depend on word of mouth to have a respectable weekend.
Holdovers like Neevevaro, Aatagallu and lakshmi will playing in a very limited theatres as all have done poor business during the week.
