Superstar Rajinikanth and sensational director Shankar teamed up for 2.0 and the film has been made on a massive budget of nearly Rs 600 crores. The film received decent response but fell short of recovering the investments. Huge delay in the VFX work delayed the film’s release by a year and a dull season brought a dent in the film’s revenues. Now the focus is on Megastar Chiranjeevi’s next film Syeraa.
The film’s shoot is going on snail pace and is directed by Surendar Reddy. There are speculations making rounds that the budget of the film is over board and the release date is yet to be locked. With several biggies announcing dates during the major holiday seasons of next year, Syeraa team is yet to lock the date.
This will sure not get a smooth and sole release for the film. Though Telugu market witnessed vast expansion, if the film is not planned, made on the planned budget and released well, the results would be like 2.0 which is sure a huge lesson for all big budget filmmakers.
