Hyderabad: Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao is on Target-16 in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections, but how can he make false promises such as garnering 160 MPs at the Centre to get projects and funding for the Telangana, questions, observes former MP Vijayashanthi.
“Is it possible to buy MPs the way KCR is managing in Telangana? It’s not that easy as buying MLAs. In case TRS makes a clean sweep in Telangana Lok Sabha elections, there’s no guarantee that KCR can mobilise support of 160 MPs. KCR is successfully manipulating things in the home state, but he can’t do so in national politics,” maintained Vijayashanthi.
Recalling KCR’s failure to generate support from regional parties to his mission ‘Federal Front,’ Vijayashanti said that KCR couldn’t get even one regional party support.
“Yes, in one way, KCR can get support of 160 MPs. I’ll tell you how it’s possible. All the MP seats of BJP, TRS and YSRCP put together, after elections, might give KCR’s magical figure of 160,” predicts Vijayashanthi.
The actor-turned politician has joined Congress party and didn’t contest in Assembly elections held in December 2018. Vijayashanthi is a star campaigner for Congress party. Earlier, Vijayashanthi won as Medak MP on TRS ticket.
