Vijayashanthi faces setback in TS High Court!

Actress and senior BJP leader Vijayashathi received a jolt in the Telangana High Court on Thursday (today).

The court dismissed the petition filed by Vijayashanthi challenging the decision of KCR’s government in Telangana to auction government lands to raise funds.

It may be recalled that the KCR’s government auctioned government lands in Kokapet and Khanamet in 2021. The auction fetched nearly Rs 2,000 crore for TS government as each acre was bought for over Rs 50 crore on average in the auction by various real estate companies. The auction was conducted by HMDA and TSICC.

Vijayashanthi filed a petition challenging the auction of government lands arguing that if state governments auction lands, the future governments will be left with no government land allotments to public purposes in future like schools, hospitals etc.

The Telangana High Court which heard the petition said that the court cannot fault the government selling lands. It said there are no provisions in the law that state that selling lands by government is wrong.

But the court asked TS government to auction lands in a transparent manner through tenders, e-auction etc.

With this, TS government got a relief in this case.

Vijayashanti targets MIM, comments on Charminar, Taj Mahal

The MIM comments on the PV, NTR Ghats have become a major issue in the GHMC elections in Hyderabad now. Rival parties were trying to take their heated debates and mutual allegations to the next level. Star Campaigner Vijayashanti has picked up the controversy and passed her own comments against the MIM.

Vijayashanti said that going by Akbaruddin remarks for removal of illegal constructions, even the historical monument like Charminar in the heart of Hyderabad Old City should be demolished. It is well known that Charminar has now become a traffic hurdle. Moreover, its walls are not in a fit condition any longer.

Vijayashanti, who is reportedly shifting loyalties from the Congress to the BJP, has only targetted the MIM but not the BJP on the PV, NTR Ghats issue. She said that it would not be possible to remove the Taj Mahal also just because it was located in the full tank level of the river there.

Vijayashanti’s remarks more or less reflect similarities to those of the BJP leaders right now. It is not yet clear on behalf of which party she is making comments. With this present issue, it can be said Vijayashanti is on the verge of joining the BJP sooner or later.

The yesteryear actor quit the BJP in 2005 and floated her own party Talli Telangana but later merged the party with the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS). Following differences with the party leadership, the former Medak MP joined Congress in February 2014 and unsuccessfully contested from Medak assembly constituency on a Congress ticket. Like Khusbhoo, Vijayshanti has been miffed with the Congress leadership and kept away from the party activities.

KCR can’t influence national politics: Vijayashanthi

Hyderabad: Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao is on Target-16 in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections, but how can he make false promises such as garnering 160 MPs at the Centre to get projects and funding for the Telangana, questions, observes former MP Vijayashanthi.

“Is it possible to buy MPs the way KCR is managing in Telangana? It’s not that easy as buying MLAs. In case TRS makes a clean sweep in Telangana Lok Sabha elections, there’s no guarantee that KCR can mobilise support of 160 MPs. KCR is successfully manipulating things in the home state, but he can’t do so in national politics,” maintained Vijayashanthi.

Recalling KCR’s failure to generate support from regional parties to his mission ‘Federal Front,’ Vijayashanti said that KCR couldn’t get even one regional party support.

“Yes, in one way, KCR can get support of 160 MPs. I’ll tell you how it’s possible. All the MP seats of BJP, TRS and YSRCP put together, after elections, might give KCR’s magical figure of 160,” predicts Vijayashanthi.

The actor-turned politician has joined Congress party and didn’t contest in Assembly elections held in December 2018. Vijayashanthi is a star campaigner for Congress party. Earlier, Vijayashanthi won as Medak MP on TRS ticket.

Hypocrisy: Vijayashanthi’s political advice to Chiranjeevi

Lady super star and Congress leader Vijayashanthi gave a piece of political advice to Chiranjeevi through her twitter account. In a series of tweets, she expressed her concerns about future of Andhra Pradesh, and wrote about Special category status, and the need of AP political parties to unite and fight against BJP to achieve special category status for the state. She also advised mega star Chiranjeevi to take up proactive role in uniting the political parties of Andhra Pradesh in the fight for special category status. She also didn’t miss to emphasize that special category status to Andhra Pradesh is possible only through congress party.

Vijayashanthi writes:

Vijayashanthi wrote in her twitter, ” After going through the political developments in AP for the last two days… it is surprising and very confusing looking at the stand taken by the main parties. Every party except BJP is demanding for special status. Everyone is trying to get mileage with this issue. But they will not come together. YCP and TDP will fight with each other instead of fighting together with BJP. The same scene repeats with YCP and Janasena. Then how will these parties put pressure on BJP without coming together for a cause? Main parties including Janasena are missing the logic that without supporting INC they cannot achieve Special Status because Congress has already passed a resolution in favour of special status. At this juncture I feel, all the main parties belonging to AP must come together along with Congress to achieve their goal. And it’s the right time for popular personalities like Chiranjeevi garu to strengthen Congress party to fulfil the ambition of AP people. If not, the agitation and operation would be a success… but Special Status cause will go dead. This is my opinion as a COMMITTED CONGRESS WORKER ”

Critical comments on her write-up:

It is good to see Vijayashanthi worrying about the future of Andhra Pradesh. It is still fresh in the memory of people when she spoke ‘ we are least bothered about what happens to Seemandhra, but we want our Telangana’, during Telangana movement. People still remember her reaction when some kids died in government hospital in Hyderabad. Instead of criticizing the callousness of the government and hospital, she commented, in the capacity of Talking Telangana party leader , ‘ why the doctors are killing the kids of my Telangana’. That’s why, now her concerning comments about future of AP surprise many.

Also her immense faith in Chiranjeevi’s ability also surprising now. It was she who came down heavily on Chiranjeevi when he floated Praja Rajyam party. It was she who abbreviated PRP means ‘Paniki Rani Party’. She was the one who commented that her stature is much bigger than Chiranjeevi as she was ‘Won MP’ while Chiranjeevi was ‘lost MLA’.

Of course there is nothing permanent in politics and she has every right to advise Chiranjeevi or , for that matter, anyone. But whether to receive that advice or not is up to that other person. By seeing her credentials of recent past with regard to AP as well as Chiranjeevi, most probably, Chiranjeevi may not pay heed to her advice.
